ah another one of the "our poop don't stink" crowd. Yes, the national ban on abortion is hypocritical given the complaints about Roe. But both sides ooze hypocrisy on various issues

I think the GOP may get the message that abortion rights will not win them the WH or competitive races in the Senate or House. But die-hard social conservatives will still be pressing on this in the state legislature and the pocketbook on who they choose to support in their election bid.

This is called "Political Forum". We have no political discussions in my Church. There is so much more to discuss. Our focus is to worship God, understand His nature, and to relate to our fellow humans in a way that brings glory to Him.

You made an accusation and you dodge the challenge. I do know of so-called Christian Churches where God is not mentioned and discussion is ALL about politics and left wing ideology. Could it be that following Godly precepts just leads followers to "protecting innocent life", feeding the poor and giving them hope as individuals who see themselves as the hands and feet of the Body of Christ? I think like so many immersed in leftist ideology you see that as a task for government and you want God out of government.

Like I said, put up or shutup regarding your accusations.

Actually, I think leaving decisions to the States is just fine for now. Don't you?

Until it violates the equal protection clause. That was the problem with the 13 states in which they did not allow same sex marriages, but also did not recognize same sex marriages from other states. Imagine if conservative states don't recognize driver's licenses from liberal states. That too would violate the equal protection clause and the general welfare clause of the US Constitution. It is also why states who state DA's want to prosecute persons who are having abortions in another state while living in their state would also violate the 14th amendment as well. So leaving it up to the states, especially conservative states is not such a bright idea after all and it avoids the real issue at hand: does the government have a legitimate interest in a patient-physician relationship in which an abortion or any other medical decision between the two is inherent to the interest of the state? And no one is answering that question anytime soon.

The decision should not be JUST between the patient-physician. The argument here is, there is a third party involved-the unborn. It becomes a highly partisan issue when you don't recognize that. Abortion allowed up until birth (or even after) is what is at stake here. The Government made it legal under Roe V Wade. Now it is up to the States. Understand, there is a majority that believes abortion at 8 months is wrong. Many of us believe after 6 weeks is murder. Some believe at the moment of conception. These are strongly held beliefs. They won't be changed. These beliefs tend to be regional partly because like minded people gravitate toward one another. If liberal States want to abort their young, let them. It is on them. We'll see how it turns out in the long run. Allow conservative states to stand up for the sanctity of life.

The state does not have the absolute authority on protecting the "unborn" which is highly dubious. We have clear definitions on when a person is deceased, but the medical field has established when a person is alive, which is at birth or can "survive" medically if born prematurely. Most abortions occur within the first trimester of pregnancy. This is why Texas and other states have put the "cardiac" heartbeat into their bill, which is at about 6 weeks. And this too is dubious since there is no heart. There is an electronic pulse that mimics a heartbeat, but it is not a heartbeat per se. That that is how OBGYN doctors determine if you are pregnant through an ultrasound. And this is why the medical association for OBGYN are against these bills to begin with. Somehow, the state legislators, most to all of whom are not medical professionals in this field will not listen to the experts but only to their money supporters so they can get reelected.

That being said, there should not be a right, nor there should be any restrictions. It should only be between the patient and the physician no matter what it is and within the medical ethics rules as well.

The problem with your argument is there may not be a third life depending on how long the fetus has developed.

the problem is with human life, it is not strictly biological, it is biological, religious, sociological, and psychological. And that is the point.

It is confusing to many. Precisely why the States should decide. Keep decisions local.

And that is also where part of the problem lies. Even among religions, even within Christianity, the human life is not always at conception, which is what far right social conservatives, aka White Christian Evangelicals using Apologetics, are trying to infuse religion with government. And that is also a big no no.

the best solution really is to leave it to the medical professionals and the patient to make the best decision given the circumstances. Also, have as many options available for that person including counseling before and after if the pregnancy is terminated. That is it.

Oh, it's a indisputable fact that ice ages and other climate changes (climate changes- It is not, nor has it ever been static, and just because it was blankety-blank 20-years ago doesn't mean it's supposed to be identical 20-years from now) do in fact cause sea level changes, and there are well known and I have zero doubt many, many unknown examples of formerly inhabited spaces that were once above sea level, but that's life. Things change, and humans are and must be able to improvise, adapt, and overcome whatever obstacles get in our way, even if that means we have to move due to said changes.

I can also believe tales of past massive, but LOCALIZED floods that were life-changing for people who were "downstream" so to speak. We know for a fact that an ice wall either melted or was otherwise compromised in the Missoula, MT area that flooded the entire Columbia River valley and other areas and probably resulted in the loss of life, perhaps even human life if it existed in the area at that time, which was about 10,000 years ago. To you and I 10,000 years is a long, long, LONG time, but measured geologically or cosmologically, it's but a blink of an eye.

But... The fact remains that if you melted every drop of ice on the globe, and every cloud rained itself out to the point that every ounce of H2O that exists is in liquid form somewhere on the surface, it would and could not flood the entire planet. Period. And, as I mentioned, the Egyptians and Chinese, amongst other societies also existed at the time the so-called flood of Noah occurred, but they didn't notice it!

The end of the “Younger Dryas” the disruption caused by that massive influx of fresh water disrupted the ocean currents leading to arctic ice melt and rising seas

Yabberrefugee your latest comment simply shows you do not know how to see more than one issue or side to a decision so you revert to name calling and trying to attack me the person telling me what I think and stand for. Lol.

Please do not tell me what my bottom line is. You not I express a bottom line. I clearly stated I have no bottom line because its NOT my body to make the decision in regards to the bottom line.

You not I feel you have the right to unilaterally tell a woman what to do with her body and what her responsibilities are. I do not.

I use the name "Death" precisely because of forum members like you who take all or nothing positions they think are black and white. It is precisely that kind of approach to conflict that kills people. Zip over your head.

If all ya' got is some 50-year old unproven accusation against a guy who worked for Trump (though probably 8-levels removed), and allegedly implemented something that more likely than not, if it happened at all, came from his father, then you ain't got squat. The world and the US was a different place to live in the early 70s, and that's life. Or would you like me to breakout some rather nasty quotes from your boy LBJ about having a certain segment of society voting for his party for a long time to come??

Having no clue whatsoever where you got your data, even if I give the benefit of the doubt about it being accurate, I would say 2 things. First, 56 children having their bodies mutilated in such a manner is 56 too many, and second, I guarantee you the time period in between 2022-2024 (same range) will be much, much higher. As my nephew recently told me, even his school is promoting transgenderism as a cool, trendy thing, and increasing the number of them, at an age when humans, let's be real, do a lot of very dumbass things, is not something we should be encouraging, cheering for, or even allowing. Now, if you're talking about the super-rare cases of people being born with both (or neither) sets of junk, that's a different situation, but that is not what I'm talking about.

Speaking as a person who has been dead, seen the other side, remember parts of it, and lived to tell my tale, I can assure you that the very concept of 'salvation' is... Ridiculous. All paths ultimately lead to the same place, it's just some might take a bit longer, but then again, as I've been able to grasp things, time works quite differently over there, so what we perceive as being cause and effect, before and after, don't really exist in that dimension.

Lets say 10% children are changing sex. But in America no state allow under the age of 18 to go through sex change without parental consent.

Are you saying, parental consent is not enough, we need government consent?

So were you dead or alive when you seen the other side? I thought those of you who don’t believe in "life after death" don’t believe “ being alive and seen the other side” after death.

You associate with the name. I did not give it to you.

You not I would allow a baby's life to be terminated resulting in "death" for that child.

Every time a women has a abortion a person is killed.

So... If I jerk off into a petri dish that contains a live, healthy, and fully functional human egg, give it a few hours to fertilize and maybe even start reproducing cells a few times and discard it, have I murdered someone??
