If being in the military causes one to develop such a cult-like mentality, it's all the more reason to be suspicious of the military. A person with such a mindset could easily justify slaughtering thousands of innocent people to win a war that does not need to be fought. And as we all see, they do.

Cult like mentality? You've got to be kidding me. So developing a camaraderie with the people who would give their life with you is now a the same as being in a cult?

    Now I've heard it all.

Not even going to get into how wrong that post is.

It is when it motivates you to uphold the lives of those in your "group" as more important than the lives of others, especially when you admit that the others are the victims and you're the aggressors.

We protect the men and women in our group. because when the sh*t hits the fan you know they will be the ones protecting you and dragging you to saftey if you are injured.

The men and women you are serving with are the ones who are going to take a bullet to protect you.

The people in the villages that the U.S. Military are sometimes, innocent, and sometimes harboring people that do not want to do harm to Just the U.S. soldiers but anybody who thinks differently then they do.

but since you can't see past your bias and idiot opinion then you will never understand that.

and its funny since you call these people the "Victims" why is it that they come up and thank the U.S. military for saving them?

Why is it that they have taken care of wounded U.S. military? and helped U.S. military in combat?

But again your Bias opinion makes you ignore the facts.

I dont wonder why people argue against me. All Im saying is that in war your fellow troops take precedent over everything else. Sadly sometimes that means the locals livelihood.
You've never been to combat so you dont understand the rationale behind that. It's not your fault, you just haven't experienced it.

I don't blame the locals for their animosity. I would be upset too. But at the end of the day we are there, we WILL protect ourselves and our fellow troops by any means necessary. If you have a problem with that then fight to send us home. But as long as we are there this is how we are going to operate, whether you or anyone else likes it or not.

Cult- The word cult pejoratively refers to a group whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal or bizarre.

Put yourself in our position, but instead, someone has broken into your home to do you harm, and your mother is there. What would you do to keep her alive? Is your life more important than hers?

If your life is more important than your mothers, that just shows the difference between us, and you.

    It's called sacrifice.

It would suck. That's why there are people like us in the military to ensure it doesn't happen. And if it ever did happen guess who YOU would be calling for help? Exactly.

HA, he will debate that, but we both know the truth, and the REALITY. Something some here seem to be ignorant about.

Oh no he would ask "what did the government do to upset these people to make them invade us?" "What did my country do wrong?" "I will try to understand the reasons why we are being invaded".

    lol they make me laugh.

What's even funnier, is they think they can try and make is feel guilty, and second guess doing what we've done. Too bad they don't know how much pride we have in doing what we believe in, and no one can take away from us the things we have done. It's like they think they can belittle us and make us change our core values.

    Doesn't work like that.

There is no rationale behind it. It's immoral and irrational.

So you're saying that you're a mindless automaton with no ability to make an independent moral choice?

The position you want me to take is that it's morally acceptable for you to value the lives of soldiers in an invading army more than the lives of the people being invaded. But it's not morally acceptable. The moral position is to oppose the invasion and all the killing, in word and deed.

Were not there to invade. Were there to help establish a legitimate government that the people can believe in to take care of them and do what's best for the country.

If we were there to invade and conquer, it would of been accomished years ago, as we obviously have superior man power and fire power.

And again, we have NO say in what our job is. You voted, didn't you? Who did you vote for?

And re-read my post avoid putting out lives at risk to help them establish said government, along with helping them to establish a good agricultural program.
EVERY time we went out to what's known as Sultan Dam to help them regain control of it from Al Qaeda, we got mortored. Yet we still went out there because it was a key element in their water supply. They would hold it against them, and if the locals didn't do what they wanted, they would cut off their water supply.

Do you know what it feels like to get mortored and shot up? It sucks. Yet we STILL went out there, putting our lives at risk to help them regain control of their own drinking water, which was the same water which was used to supply their agricultural needs, or lack there-of.

Lol, I would NEVER call you for help. In fact, I would help them. :) because I understand how they feel.

And no, you don't ensure that it doesn't happen. Did you ensure that it didn't happen on 9-11? Nope. In fact, your bosses were so dumb that they scrambled jets and sent them in the complete opposite direction of where the threat was headed. Probably by design.

What you are doing though is pissing off more countries to the point where they are looking to build nuclear weapons and aircraft carriers so they can defend themselves against fools who invade them based on lies.

Good job, as a result of your ignorant actions, you are only making the USA a more dangerous and oppressive country to live in.

but wait I thought you went there to find Osama bin laden.

And let's say you did, even though that is bull poop since Osama died in 2001 from lung failure/complications, what are you still doing there?

Unbeknownst to you, you are really there to expand the banking cartel.

Congratulations, you are helping to destroy sovereign nations and their culture.

superior fire power yes, but why end the money making war machine when your employer can just continue to lie to the people to keep the tax money/ funding coming? And what better way to do that with the whole, "war on terror" propaganda?

    Brilliant yet evil.

what a sorry cop out. So I could join the it Italian mob, or the Mexican drug cartel as a hit man, and say, I have no say in what my job is.

nice to know that you think that the taxpayer will fund the wars so you can get paid forever. Boy that is quite a fantasy that you believe. How long do you expect the USA to continue being the worlds police?

I bet they farmed food just fine before you were there. Believe it or not but mankind all over the planet advanced and thrived long before the USA and the US military came along and thought they would be so nice as to "help" those poor people.

SS, 99% of people in the military are working class people with big hearts, who when they signed up just wanted a path to do something with their self in a time when paths are few and far between. There is no backing out, and quite frankly, like school loans they are the victims of predatory practices. They have lost friends, and those who serve in war zones, taken others lives, which only maybe 1% of the population would be sick enough to enjoy. No one signs up to the military with the purpose of supporting the global agenda and invading poor people's nations to slaughter their civilians. It might very well be the outcome, but none of them had that on their mind, and certainly weren't told that's what they were doing while there. I don't know what this thread is supposed to accomplish. It is us, the civilians back home, who are supposed to make sure things like this don't happen through elections, and if anything, we failed them.

Fight to keep that next young person from signing up as long as globalists are in control. Fight the globalists in control. Don't fight soldiers on their intentions. It is an exercise in futility, and in the end, makes those back home who are against the global agenda look like monsters to the soldiers themselves and those who love them.

So their agrictural program is fine huh? Is that why they are starving? And no, they didn't farm just fine befor we got there, because Al Qaeda made sure it didn't happen unless they did what was ordered. Along with that, if the locals would fight back, their sons would be taken and forced to fight, and their daughters kidnapped and killed, or sold. So don't sit here and tell me they were just fine, if that was the case, they wouldnt be a 3rd world country.

Go take a visit, and tell me what you see. Because you are obviously severely misinformed my friend. You don't know sh*t. Their main export is ipium, their livestock are skin and bones, their water is at the mercy of Al Qaeda who use it to control the population. I honestly don't give a rats ass what you think you know, but you obviously don't know sh*t.

I'm done debating with you, youre not worth the pot you p*ss in.

Have a wonderful day my friend. ;)

Sad for you, really truly is. Side with the enemy and you become the enemy. Not a great position to be in when facing the US military...

And its exactly the way we operate. Call it whatever you like lol

Nope, Im saying that my morals override your morals because Im the one making them and living by them. Whatever YOU think is moral is irrelevant. Since we are the ones fighting in the war the morals we choose to live by are the only ones that matter to us. There is no bottom line "correct" moral code, morals are subjective no matter what you think, we've been through this...

As a combat veteran I do not insult our troops but the above exemplifies the problem. It was a Afghani citizen and we're foreigners. The Afghanis have every right to oppose a foreign military in their country because it is their counrty and not ours. The citizens of Afghanistan have every right to oppose the government installed by the United States. We denied them their sovereign right of self-determination.

By way of analogy we can remember the French resistance of WW II that opposed both the Germany military and the Vichy French government. They had every right to act as an insurgency force against the occupying military of a foreign country and the Vichy government that the Germans installed. They looked at as heros.

We can certainly be opposed to the ideology of the Taliban but they are citizens of Afghanistan and we are not. We have no right or ligitimate authority to fight against the citizens of Afghanistan in our supporting of the corrupt government of Karzai in Afghanistan that we installed.

Once again though this is not the fault of the soldiers. They didn't send themselves to Afghanistan the politicians did. They do not continue the mission in Afghanistan the politicans do. The soldiers did not reject the Taliban's offer to turn over Osama bin Ladin to a neutral international tribunal for criminal prosecution the politicans did. They didn't decide to stay in Afghanistan once al Qaeda left the country the politicians did. The soldiers of the United States military did not decided to become involved in a regional conflict as a mercenary force (hired by the Kuwait monarchy for pennies on the dollar) between tyrants in 1991 that lead to the later terrorist attacks against the United States the politicans did.

Don't blame the soldier that is only following orders but instead blame the politicans that issue the orders.

Did you read the rest of the post? Just because he was unarmed doesn't mean he was innocent. The knowledge, experience, and weapons he had at his disposal were worse than any gun he could have been carrying. Yes he was an Afghan citizen, one who had already, or planned to, plant bombs to kill troops. Sure we shouldn't be there but we are, and those who threaten the troops will be dealt with. Like I said, us first, them second.

Mind if I ask what your MOS was?

I'm guessing a soft skill, non-combat arms, by your reaction to what nightmare's encounter with the bomb maker.

He either didn't read it or did and that is why he only posted the part about him being unarmed. and not the rest of your post. so he can try and twist the truth into making the U.S. military look bad
