When I call Papa John's for a pizza and they tell me they can't deliver it because they fired their workers because they don't like Obama, I'll have no problem ordering my pie from their competitor.

Papa Johns is gross anyway. Better off ordering from a local pizza place.

because its happening in all companies, Papa johns is successful for pricing and that people like their product. People will still buy from papa johns, just that workers won't be working full time and mostly cut hours because of Obamacare. No one is saying papa johns is going to lose market share.

Papa John's Faces Spam Text Message Lawsuit - Nov 14, 2012

(CNN) Papa John's pizza has been delivering more than just pizza.

Customers nationwide have filed a $250 million class-action lawsuit because they say the popular pizza chain has sent out a half million unwanted spam texts.
The messages offered pizza deals, but some customers said they got 15 or 16 of them in a row, in the middle of the night.

One of the plaintiffs said Papa John's never asked permission to text the advertisements, which was banned to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.
The plaintiffs are seeking $500 per text, but could get up to $1500 per text if the jury rules that Papa John's willfully broke the law.

Papa John's (and other pizza restaurants) are low-skill jobs. Finding replacements who will work part time is easy for them. Their customers will never know the difference. Papa John's will simply hire two part-timers to do a single full-timers work, pay each part timer half what the full timer made and not have to pay the ObamaTax.

What is odd is that in that niche of the labor market, full time work is not considered that desirable. Nobody works a career in pizza restaurants 9except maybe Papa John himself). They are all supplementing something else and the part-time work is A-OK.

What is wild is that really good-paying jobs go begging because of the time demands. A good example is locomotive engineers. Folks, this is a $100k per year job, but it does require a lot of time investment. Five days a week, 12 hours a day. Cargo plane aircrew work the same schedule. Young people just don't want it. Old coots are willing but the physical demands take a while to harden to and most old guys can't adjust. The job simply cannot be split like pizza clerks.

But more stationary jobs, like steel workers or power plant operators...don't be surprised if these jobs aren't split into a collection of part-timers. The ObamaTax is crushing and any employer will do what he has to do to avoid it.

Papa John's Obamacare Costs Are Far Less Than Price Of Free Pizza Giveaway

News flash to Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter: Obamacare isn’t the only thing costing your business money.

The pizza chain head has made his views on the Affordable Care Act clear in recent months, claiming the new health care law will cost his business about $5 to $8 million per year. To compensate Schnatter's said he will likely raise pizza prices and cut back some workers’ hours so he doesn’t have to insure them.

Caleb Melby of Forbes has graciously done the math on Obamacare’s cost to Papa John’s and according to his analysis, to cover the cost of Obamacare, the pizza chain would have to raise prices by 3.4 to 4.6 cents per pie -- way less than the 11 to 14 cents Schnatter claims he needs.

And there are other changes the chain could make to save some money, Melby notes, like not giving away 2 million pizzas for free at a cost of between $24 and $32 million to the company, for example.

Schnatter is just one of many company heads using Obamacare as an excuse to make changes at his company. Murray Energy's CEO laid off 160 workers the Wednesday following President Obama’s reelection, claiming his company was in “survival mode” due to regulations and taxes Obama put in place. The reality: the coal industry, of which Murray Energy is a part, is in decline thanks in large part to a recent influx of natural gas into the U.S., according to the Washington Post.

The owner of 40 New York-area Applebee’s franchises told Fox Business last week that he wouldn’t hire any new workers and would be cutting back the hours of some of his current employees as a result of Obamacare. Applebee’s parent company distanced itself from his statements as the company faced backlash over his comments.

One super-rich CEO backed down from his threat to downsize if Obama was reelected. David Siegel, the CEO of Westgate Resorts and the man who tried to build the biggest house in America, said that he actually gave his workers raises in the wake of Obama’s win. In the lead up to the election, Siegel sent his employees an email warning them to vote for Romney or else.

If Obama voters lose jobs or hours at Papa John's it's not a problem for libs since Obama will be in office four more years to take care of them.

notice how i didn't say anything about climate change in this thread

here's one of the items from his link:

Biblical Dinosaurs or Dragons of Lore?

Were there dinosaurs on the ark

Every Sunday School teacher throughout the last hundred years have had to deal with this very question. Only the innocence of youth would Ponder how many Huge-a-saurese it would take to capsize the ark. The Bible clearly states that the Lord has finished his creative efforts and all life, plant, animal, or man are here at the time of the flood. However, the donosaurs may have been already exctinct and I ponder how these brutes would have survived decompression. Although, there is another interesting possibly correlative event with the Flood of Noah.

I'll stick to your climate change complaint if you don't mind.

Do you accept that climate did not begin after man started burning fossil fuels?

Well if he is cutting employees hours to make them all (or the majority) part time casual labor, he will be making much more money already. So why the increase in price? The government already did him a favor and he doesn't have to look like the bad guy doing it to his employees.

This guy (the CEO) was on TV blabbering about having to raise his prices by $.12 a pizza to provide health care for all his full time employees, but now he is going to become another multi-billion dollar major job creator of minimum wage, casual part time employees with zero benefits, that will be eligible for food stamps for years to come. $.12 a pizza? What consumer is going to object to a $.12 increase in the cost of a munchies staple. Hell most of the people ordering this stuff would already pay a buck or two, without hesitation. Somebody is full of sheot!

Sounds like somebody is taking advantage of the situation to raise the profit margin. This exactly why I believe this was the plan all along, and the best government corporate money can buy is on the job, no matter which corporate owned party is involved
