um well you see when you wield what very well potentially might be a firearm the cops are not gonna answer with a tazer, nor would i if some kid or adult was on my property with the thing and didnt respond or say anything about it really being a BB gun.

you dont bring knives to gun fights, nor do you pretend a fake gun is real in a gun fight.

the fault is the kids alone, it sucks but thats how life goes when you are a moron pretending to brandish a gun.

i dont see why people pretend they could do better, knowing full well they dont even understand the situation.

Why would the police bring a taser to a gun fight?

If someone had a gun pointed at you, and you had a choice of using either the taser you had on you or the gun...which would you pick?

Should fireman throw water balloons at a house that is on fire and only think about using their fire hoses if those water ballons fail?

It is the fault of the parents. They raised a dumbass, and that dumbass got shot for being a dumbass.

Dontcha know, cops should wait until a few of them get shot before they draw their guns? Some people believe that cops have no right to properly defend themselves.

I don't see how anyone could claim that the cops did anything wrong here. As far as they could reasonably tell, the kid was holding a gun and was likely to use it to harm them or one of the students. I feel bad for the poor cop who will have to go through therapy to get past this terrible event, but they did nothing wrong.

    .....

Now that is an incredibly simplistic explanation for the death of a 15 year old troubled boy even in today's violent America.

I am really curious to know, perhaps you can tell us what your IQ is? ....:)

    I'm not a woman.

I also didn't know that the kid was running up and down the hallways with the gun.

Upon realizing that, I have reconsidered. Try to lay off the insults though.

I have a better idea: shoot idiots who carry pellet guns to school, and refuse to drop them when warned to do so by police.

That'll stop more incidents like this than 1000 of your liberal-minded psychologists.

No, we do not need to spend more money; your entire ideology wrapped around such a notion fails hardcore.

    How is it simplistic?

Would you like to discuss in depth the myriad of social factors that could have played a role? Guess what, none of them matter. It comes down to the parents doing their job. They failed this child, and bad.

You can attempt to over complicate this issue as much as you want in an attempt to justify what you percieve to be your vast intellect, but it is irrelevant.

They raised a dumbass, who acted as such and got himself shot.

    My IQ is 122 btw.....

Agreed and more than anything it's him NOT putting down the gun that lead to his being killed.

    ......

More than that is the vast silence in that middle school of the voice of a competent principal who was in the main office with the boy when he was shot dead by police...and the much needed voice of a counselor that could have guided everyone, including the troubled 15 year old, away from danger and into therapy.

The scenario did not need to happen. It is yet another wasted life because of police brutality.

    ......

HELLOOOOO...is that another reason to shoot him dead? Or is it another reason NOT to shoot him?

I think he was another symptom of police power gone mad in a middle American school scenario.....

It would be nice not to shoot any children...unless of course they're wearing the kefiyah and a cumbersome vest with wires....but...fifteen years old and in the eighth grade makes me wonder if we are being denied 'need to know' information.

Wonder if the ME will find drugs during the autopsy.....

From the sounds of this - what were the cops supposed to do? Risk having the kid turn the school into another Columbine?

Excuses? The police do not need an excuse...they did what they needed to do based on the circumstances. Tell me...isn't it the parents making excuses now?

Why did their kid have NY type of gun at school? Why did he not drop the gun when asked? Why does this 8yr old have no respect for a police officer?

    What do you think?

    Clever.........

It is very easy to arm chair quarterback isn't it.

Kid had a gun, refused to drop it. Cops took him out before he took anyone else out. The fact that it turned out to be a pellet gun is irrelevant.

Tragic loss of life but the kid had it coming to him acting like that.

    ....

sigh; you still don't get it, do you....

    1) It is also easy to try to place blame for what happened on everyone but the police, who were the cause of the fatal gunshot to the 15 year old boy.

    2) How would YOU feel if it took police only two minutes before killing YOUR child?

    3) The kid went into a classroom and punched another kid in the nose. He was in the main principal's office of the school when the police arrived and shot him to death.

I am intrigued by the amount of compassion shown for the death of a none-too-bright and troubled 15 year old.

Get why you're irrationally deflecting from behaviour that SHOULD get someone killed? No.

Um...you know why that is? Because it is the boy's fault, and the police acted properly.

Would you have blamed the police if they were in a position to shoot this kid - and didn't - and he then shot an innocent bystander?

Appeal To Emotion: Fallacy. My child would not be holding anything like a gun in school, nor failing to drop it on command.

To turn this around on you: how would you feel if your daughter was shot by this boy because the police didn't do their job and put down a threat when they had the chance?

And your point is...what? Does standing in the Principal's Office grant this kid some sort of crazy pass?

What you are seeing isn't compassion. It's mental derangement.
