Personally...… I do think that Messiah Yeshua - Jesus did explain all the same great secrets that near death experiencers of today are revealing but........... Roman Emerpors who became Christian had a great deal of power to ensure that certain first century Christian writings were exalted..... and others that got into topics that they didn't like were virtually ignored........ until our time period that is?!

Why reincarnation was edited out of Christianity?

On Saturday I began a Facebook group entitled Barbro Karlen and Anne Frank after one of the most famous cases of a child remembering a past life.

Yesterday I got the most logical explanation I have ever read as to why reincarnation may have been edited out of the Christian scriptures:

How do you equate this with 'original' sin.

Not only that, we all know that the age set for culpability is variable depending on where you live. Many below that age know exactly what they are doing. This has nothing to do with the spiritual, but with the human nature and law.

If God knows the 'thoughts and intents of the heart' of the child, only he can judge the childs capability spiritually.

There is no evidence in the Dead Sea Scrolls to indicate the Essenes believed in reincarnation.

'One text has drawn particular attention because it speaks explicitly about reviving the dead. Its language is similar to that of the second of the Eighteen Benedictions, a central part of Jewish daily liturgy and to expressions found also in the New Testament: "For he will heal the wounded, and revive the dead and bring good news to the poor" These expressions are drawn from the prophet Isaiah (61:1; 26:19; cf. 30:26). The combination of reviving the dead and bringing good news to the poor however is unique to Qumran and the gospels (Mt 11 :5; Lk 7:22). These passages are most plausibly understood as referring to a one-time resurrection of the dead and not to multiple reincarnations. Puech in his exhaustive study of Essene beliefs in an afterlife finds no reference to the idea of reincarnation in any of the Dead Sea Scrolls.'

My notes neglect to show me where I got this from. If you Google it you should find it.

These ancient Historians, while a source of information, have to be treated with care. Tacituas gets a lot of his accounts from records, and second hand. Josephus the same. And remember Josephus was a Jew who sold out to, and worked for, the Romans to save his life.

Don't worry. I have zero admiration for you. You and Wanren, 2 peas in a pod. That is the alterego. I am surprised it had to be spelled out for you. OK, not really.

One can not be a Christian and anti Christian that is illogical and contradictory. It is either you are a Christian or an anti Christian and so far all indication is that you are an anti Christian.

Yes I am Pro Life and I am against lying. Then why are you against Pro Life? Why do you not believe in God?

That doesn't explain WHY they were necessary. God had no other alternatives than blood sacrifices?

Uh, you're quite ignorant of your own Bible.

Genesis 8:20-21: "Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:..."

Does this mean we are constantly recycled?
As since the population continues to increase, where are these new entities coming from?
Do any ever stop being recycled? And what happens if there are those that are no longer recycled?

What am I making up? If something I said doesn't make sense to you, ask me about it. I'd be happy to try to clarify anything I said, but I really don't know what to do with this comment.

Look again at that definition. See that word "oneself"? Well the perception would be that of the 'oneself'. I hold no such perception, therefore I am not the alterego. Now if you want to go on fantasizing, then you should really attempt to make them a little more believable.

Sorry Dennis but if you really believe this stuff you need to study for yourself. Not rely on others.

Much of it is simply not credible, much of it assumes facts not proven, and on statements that are not true.
Where did Jesus get the idea of reincarnation. It was not in the Tanakh and Jesus believed in the Tanakh, taught from the Tanakh. Neither was it for many centuries in Judaism, and even now by only Chasidic Jews and some Jewish mystics believe it..
Many of the Nag Hamada books are gnostic, and those not are highly suspect. The Gospel of Thomas written? We have a Greek copy of the 3-4th century. Who actually wrote it , and when? The Infancy Gospel of Thomas (another Thomas) tells us that Jesus, as a boy, killed a child who annoyed him, raised another to life and did miraculous things. Several of them by various people tell us of things that 'Jesus told me but no-one else'. Just like the Gospel of Thomas.
Turn all these into a book and you would certainly have a modern edition of Grimm's Fairy tales.

There was such a catastrophe, but it was not just a flood. In fact the flooding was in the form of a tsunami, and there was more than water to contend with.

Actually the reality is it is you who is the one that's ignorant of my Holy Bible. You are like the rest of your non-believing crowd in that you take one verse out of Scripture and right of the bat you misinterpret it. Nothing surprising because it's a common theme among the non-believers. You should read the entire Bible first before you think you can criticize others who know their Bible.

Sorry but this verse doesn't mean He enjoyed blood sacrifices in the way you're thinking. I know exactly what you're thinking, you're thinking in a perverted way that the main reason for these sacrifices was because God liked the pleasing aroma, forget about the true reason for these sacrifices which was to forgive sins, God in His perverted way just liked the pleasing smell of these sacrifices.

Boy are you far from the truth! But again it's because guys like you don't really understand the Bible. I've always said for countless of times on these threads of mine now that the Holy Bible is not a book for the interpretation impaired.

If God enjoyed these sacrifices in the way you're thinking then He would have His believers continually do them but that is not the case anymore ever since our Lord Savior Jesus Christ made the final sacrifice. There are no animal blood sacrifices done anymore, it is over. God has no need for them since like I said Jesus made the final sacrifice.

God instituted the sacrifice of an innocent animal such as a lamb or goat to symbolize to the Israeli people the need to atone for their sins as such was deserving of them. In other words, God wanted them to realize the severity of their sin by killing an animal to take their place. This showed them how serious he took the offense of sin against Him.

However, the whole system was based upon faith or the trust that God would not hold them accountable based upon their acknowledgement of their sinfulness and repentance. This also foreshadowed the coming of Christ who would sacrifice Himself on the cross for all mankind sins. An innocent life for guilty ones. That is why Jesus is known as the "Lamb of God." As a side note, God does not desire the sacrifice of animals merely out of duty, as it says in the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament long before Christ came:

"What makes you think I want all your sacrifices?”says the Lord. “I am sick of your burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle. I get no pleasure from the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony? Stop bringing me your meaningless gifts; the incense of your offerings disgusts me! As for your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath and your special days for fasting—they are all sinful and false. I want no more of your pious meetings."---Isaiah 1:11-13 NLT

Also, in the book of Psalms we read something similar to what Isaiah was preaching.

"Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God."---Psalms 51:14-17 NLT

So as you can see, God did not delight in sacrifice but demanded a broken heart for sinning against Him. This is the same thing he requires of us, to humlby admit you're a sinner, trust in the once and for all time and all men sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and ask God for forgiveness.

The gods of pagan religions "demanded" sacrifice for any number of reasons and were evil. Understand also, that it was men making up these pagan gods demands. They would sacrifice babies to ensure a good growing season and thing of that nature, God never demanded human sacrifice in fact he forbade it. The animals were given for men to eat, enjoy and take care of.

Read Genesis. So if God wants men to sacrifice a sheep to atone for their sins, it is within his HOLY purpose and authority, not men. By the way, every animal that was sacrificed was eaten and not wasted by the priests of Judaism as their source of food. God provided for them through the peoples sacrifices.

If both Jesus and Satan are called “ the bright morning star” and a Lion isn’t that enough to be clued in that they are one and the same?

If you have read your Bible, then you know full well where those parts are.

You are I assume, referring to the statement Jesus made “I and the father are one”.
Well, by the same token the multiple reference to Jesus as the Morning Star and as the Lion of Judah which titles also refer to Satan must mean that Jesus is also Satan, and perhaps the “father” also. BTW why do you assume that “the father” is God?

You Christians can't even agree on how to interpret certain verses among yourselves, I doubt that this has anything to do with being a believer or not.

I have read your illogical and morally revolting book all the way through.

I have no idea of how any of this babbling relates to my argument. You asked me why I thought God liked blood sacrifices. My evidence for that opinion is that HE SAYS IT PLEASES HIM. I don't know what the hell you're talking about when you claim that it "isn't in the way I'm thinking". WTF? What way am I thinking? I'm going off of what the Bible says itself. He says he is pleased by sacrifices, and the aroma of sacrifices. He also doesn't NEED to institute such a weird law for sacrifices in the first place, now did he? So that is even more evidence that he likes sacrifices since THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY.

The Greek pagans considered human sacrifice taboo, and only the inedible parts of the animal were sacrificed; the rest was eaten.

Also, I think it is worth noting that God forgave sin several times in the OT without requiring blood sacrifice.

The Jews do control everything. They own all the major media and are in high places in governments all over the world. Their goal is world dominion.

It was the Early Church that created Jesus. He is a compilation of many of the pagan sacrificed god-men myths that are as old as humanity.

What am I? German, Norwegian and English, an American mix.

As usual you have no answer, what would you do without the Christian Websites.

RED Out of context. Of course God does not want the idolatrous sacrifice in Isaiah. It has nothing to do with 'out of mere duty'.
Neither would a sacrifice from a bloody man (David) mean anything. His bloodlust was what prevented his being allowed to build the Temple.

    BLUE Not always.

And often in the Tanakh God says that the aroma of the sacrifice is pleasing to him.

That's Zionism, not Judaism. Jews do not desire to rule the world. Why should they? They believe in the end all nations will recognise their God as the true God and therefore no-one will need to rule - except Yahweh.
Zionism strives for power - behind the scenes.

Yes, God does not kill babies and God's commandment "thou shall not lie" I understand you being a none Christian can lie and support baby killing.

Killing pregnant women, children and babies are for Pro Choice like you not for Pro Life.
I only share the truth about God, God that you kept on lying about.

    You do believe in God?
You lie again, I am a Christian.

LOL, because jesus didn't explicitly state he was not god, you assume that means he is god. That is making things up.
Even though, the entire verse(s) he is talking about god as another entitiy.

Now you understand that Ravage was a disgruntle Jew and his claim is about anti Semitism .

It was Jesus who created the church.
Jesus is the personification of the One True God.

So are you a proud German or proud American? Which heritage do you adhere to?

God commanded the Israelites to kill babies did he not ? And you tried to justify this killing of babies claiming that these babies were evil because of their parents.

I do not recall any commandment "thou shalt not lie". There is a command not to bear false witness against thy neighbor "lie in court in other words" but no general command not to lie.

For someone who claims to be a Christian you do not know the Bible very well.
