Show me proof that the Big Bang was the "beginning of the cosmos".
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Invalid question. Since life as we know it came after the big bang, there is no way of knowing with certainty if it indeed was the very beginning or just a repeated cycles of births then deaths that goes on for all eternity.

However, one who has faith, can believe it was the very beginning as the Scripture in Genesis 1:1 states: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Furthermore we have scientists who state that the big bang was the birth of the entire universe. To go beyond this would be just guesswork with no credible concrete evidences.

Questions like these are impossible for us humans to answer and so it is invalid in this sense, however it is only a valid question when directed to Almighty God, for He is the only one that could answer such a question.

God is omniscient, He knows everything and someday all the questions that we humans could never answer will be answered by Almighty God!

Isn't it good when man made theories support the bible?

The Big Bang tells us that the Unuverse was not always there as we see it today, but had a beginning that expanded into what we now believe is enormous.
We even calculate that the beginning was 13.9 billion years ago, long before Earth time was used to measure a day of the Lord.

    Exactly!

There never was a flood remotely like what is described in the bible, it is a false account. If there had been, that would be well known to geologists.

    No flood.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is just your opinion or belief. Furthermore you have no proof, the bible tells us there was a Great Flood and because I'm a person of faith, I believe the bible.

Sorry, that isn't an opinion or a belief, it is a fact. The markers that would exist if a global flood had ocurred just are not there and a Great Flood as described in the Bible flies in the face of every known science including geology, physics, atmospheric science, and biology.

I'm an Atheist. So I do not believe in a soul and therefore the immortality of it. Neither do I believe in the predictions of the bible. I'm just confused by them. I do not understand why the future predicted in the bible is desirable and why people become theists and pray my asses off just to wait for an event after I die with a big probability of then visiting internal flames forever.

I just don't understand how theists, who do believe in the bible's content, see this future as desirable and why they think it's worth investing time and money into internal torture and a waiting room.

But maybe Mitt Ryan can explain his point of view on the matter.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I noticed you've only mentioned hell (eternal torture). Well according to Scripture that is where all the non-believers (atheists) go after death. The believers in God, the Christians who have repented their sins, asked for forgiveness, who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior will spend eternity in heaven (paradise) with God. There wil be no more crying, no more pain, no more death, just eternal heavenly bliss (great joy & happiness forever)

Now don't you value your life? Don't you want more of it? Don't you want to live forever in eternal heavenly bliss? If you answer no, well then, you have chosen to spend your eternity in hell. It is your choice that you go there. You might think this is all silly like the attitude that most atheist take and believe that when you die you cease to exist and all consciousness and awareness is gone forever. Well if that is your belief then all I can say is that you have chosen the wrong belief.

If you answered yes to the questions I posed, then my follow up question would be then why are you an atheist? You should be a believer, a Christian. Put your trust in Almighty God, the Creator of the universe and all existence.

If you are interested in becomming a Christian let me know and I will tell you what you need to do.
But again if you just can't see yourself believing then so be it, I cannot do anything else for you but feel sorrow for you.

The Bible reveals God's Almightiness, when ever men can not understand God they start putting limitation on God. Every Christian is indeed not a Catholic just like every Christian is not a Christian because they like to be their own boss.

You are basing your understanding of identity on human aspect on human limited abilities and yet you admit that you can be of three different person and still be one you, if you can be of three characters and still be one you how much more God.

It doesn't because we are talking about God, does the mystery of the universe violate logic? If you believe that God is all powerful than you should have no problem with the Trinity.

Men are too arrogant to accept God, you may see it as God is too weak. And God did just that He gave up his own life (I know how can God die that would be answer on your next tough question) so that all men can be save.

I would make the opposite claim, the Bible reveals the weakness of God through his inability to banish Satan, his inability to punish certain people without collateral damage (killing innocent children during Passover), his inability to fix the mess that he created, and his inability to think of a better plan to draw people to him (a series of books written by men that contradict each other cosntantly almost 2,000 years ago is a terrible way to reveal yourself).

I never admitted such a thing and I have no idea how you gleaned that from what you quoted.

So your God openly violates the laws of logic and nature?

So arrogance of puny men is your Gods downfall? And God didn't give up his own life, he "died" for three days and then came back to life to ascend back into heaven for eternal bliss. That isn't a sacrifice and he didn't do it so all men will be saved. The Bible openly admits that the majority of people will end up in Hell.

    I understand perfectly. You are the one that is confused. Just ask any of the other posters reading this. So that there is no confusion and to make it easier for other readers to remember I will repost my exact sentence;
"Whether god made the sun or stars on the fourth day or the first isnt my question. My question is....how many stars did God make in total at that same time? " Answering "many" is incorrect as I clearly and succinctly said "in total". Many does not answer because the question was and still is (and I cant dumb this down any further)
    HOW MANY?
Your answer is either a distinct number OR it is "I dont know".

Actually there is abundant proof, and zero evidence that there was a flood.

But you know, its typical of creationists to lie the way you did so, why not continue the tradition. You wont really have to face "your maker" anyway.

The answer is a distinct "God made many STARS" with an "s". You are seeking an exact number like 10, 10,000, 1000,000 well the number is limitless like stars with an "s" you see how God have outsmarted you.

You ask a distinct questions and you got a direct distinct answer and now you are contradicting yourself. Still, we understand why that is the case and we will repeat, God made many stars easy answer. Any more tough questions?

I respect your opposite claim, the Bible does reveals God's promise to men and respect for His own creation. If you like God to take responsibility for everything then there is no point to have humans only animals without intelligence. Men are responsible to fix their own mess, God's responsibility ends after He created men.

If you never admitted that you can be three different person and still be you then I guess you can only be what? Don't tell me you are a parent, a teacher, an athlete, a tradesman etc. with all different you? Does this mean there are more than one you in body and soul?

No, law of logic and nature is only for men.

God has not been defeated the only downfall are men because of their own arrogance. Yes, he came back to life because God can not die and He made the ultimate sacrifice by becoming a man so that to demonstrate to us that He can feel all the pain, sorrow and insecurity and that if we believe all those can be conquered and we can achieved oneness and pure nirvana with God.

Majority of people will end up in hell because men chose it, not God's will., it is very easy to go to hell but very difficult to go to Heaven because to be pure good is to put it simple live a life like Buddha, Jesus Christ, St. Peter, St. Paul, Mary Magdalene, Mother Teresa and all the saints.

This is not an answer, it is an appeal to stupidity. If the answer to every tough question is " don't question, just have faith", then what is the point ? You could have just posted this at the beginning and nothing further is needed.

There is loads of evidence from geology, history, archaeology, logic, and in numerous other places that disproves the flood story.

The only answer you have provided so far is "just have faith"

Spare me your appeal to ignorance. I you want to believe in an irrational trickster God who favors people who are afraid of the truth, that is your prerogative.

Just do not pretend to have answers for people that choose not to be sheep and who believe in a rational logical God who favors those who seek knowledge and wisdom.

This is the God of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, and the God of the Israelites and Abraham.

    Yes I have a bunch
question 1) You say God made "limitless" stars? Does the Bible specifically state that anywhere? (honest question I dont know)

Question 2) Why is God trying to outsmart me as you say when I am merely asking a "tough" question which you guys asked us to? Does God not like it when people ask questions about unclear things in the bible?

Question 3) Stars are ceated every day and die every day therefore it is physically impossible for God to have created an infinite number of stars at the time of creation. At the time of creation there had to be a finite number of stars because of the aforementioned scientific fact. At the time of creation how many stars did he make? Your answer is "many" and you dont know the exact number. Its ok to just say that. Im just curious why people who were speaking with God didnt know that answer when they wrote the bible and why they werent smart enough to simply ask. It cant be infinite as stars are made from Hydrogen+time+gravity. This is fact not conjecture. Hydrogen is finite and will run out and in 100 or so cosmological decades our universe will go dark as the last star grows dim and dies. This proves stars are not infinite without any doubt whatsoever. An infinite number of stars means stars will be created for eternity. We know for a fact this is not true. As observed by science, "Death" is built into everything in the Universe. Why did god design death into everything in the universe, including the very Universe itself? As a pure fact the Universe will at one time cease to live. Does the Bible explain what happens at that point?

That isn't true considering that God takes on the task of also judging each and every one of us, so his responsibility goes much further than what you are claiming.

Can you try to word this better? I am one person, I cannot be another person at the same time.

Then what does God operate by?

Where exactly is that outlined in your theology? According to Scripture, God became Jesus (while still somehow being in heaven or wherever he resides) to die for sins to fulfill the law as a "perfect sacrifice" in the eyes of... well, himself. Those that believe in him and his teachings, the Gospels, will have eternal life.

And becoming human isn't a sacrifice. We are human, so does that mean we deserve to go to heaven because of all the pain, sorrow, and insecurity in the world? I mean, according to you, we are sacrificing ourselves right now.

Sorry, this is just an asinine claim. I'm not choosing to go to Hell RIGHT NOW, but it isn't enough because there is a huge requirement to get into hell: the irrational belief in what the Bible says is the path to heaven. I don't believe the entire foundational work of Judaism or Christianity could possibly have been created by a benevolent, merciful, or all powerful God. The Bible reeks of mythology, stories of national identity of the Israelites, and half-assed philosophy and logic.

A simple question is this: Why does God use the Bible to reveal himself? He is an omnipotent and benevolent being who, according to the Old Testament, reveals himself to the entire people of Israel continuously. But for everybody else he lets the supposedly unrighteous humans write down his laws and history in a slew of books (few of which were actually chosen to be canon by a bunch of guys who claimed they were "divinely inspired") that contradict each other left and right to speak with people. HUH?

God is the final arbiter or judge. Just like the Supreme Court will let the lower courts do their jobs and if the lower courts can not fulfil their job then the Supreme Court step in.

Simple: aside from being an anti Catholic, what else are you are you also a teacher, a parent, an athlete, a carpenter, a fisherman? Or are you just an anti Catholic forum poster? Now if you say you are more than that and you are also two or three of those other profession then are you still consider just one you or are there many different you like many as in having twins or is it just you?

Law of logic and nature are for men, God operate beyond supreme logic and nature just like we will never understand or discover the logic of the origin of the universe same with God, if you can factually tell me the origin of the universe not theories or hypothesis but facts than I will seriously consider submitting to your argument.

It is outline in the New Testament.

If that is what your understanding is then yes. God become human to show His love for us, that He understand our pain and sorrow and His message is the Kingdom of God is not on earth but is in Heaven.

Then why should it be a problem for you? since you have already made up your mind about Christianity, what is troubling you that you are filled with so much hatred then? If your atheist life is as good as you claim then you should satisfy but it seem you are not you are deeply bother with Christians who practice love, compassion and tolerance.

In the OT God only reveal Himself to a few chosen individuals. God use the Bible so that men can remember Him for in the Bible it is written and preserve as a historical document. How do you know those people are unrighteous? There is two answer to your question; 1. God chose the unrighteous so that they may experience God's presence and change to become righteous example: St. Paul a known anti God very unrighteous but after God reveal Himself to him Paul become a saint. 2. way to answer God chose both the unrighteous and righteous such as He choose Mary to be the mother of Jesus Christ.

Apparently you have not read any of the earlier post but here it is:
Genesis 1: 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

God knew there are men like you who would ask "how many stars did God created?" so even before you were born some 5000-10,000 or billion of years ago God has already reveal it that He created MANY STARS now you have to count them, that is how God outsmarted you and he always welcome tough questions.

That is why God created many stars and the universe all acting in perfect unison in the creation of not only more stars but planets. Now you see from your own words the infinite universe the majestic and mystifying cosmos that only a supreme creator could have design such greatness.

So you were wrong in saying that God's responsibility stops since apparently he thinks his responsibility also extends to judging every soul and guiding the human race's history (according to the Bible).

Those are classificiations. Are you trying to say that somehow God being three separate entitites who are in no way the same person (and yet each of them is wholly God?) is in any way related to classifications about a person? Because it isn't.

So, wait, let me get this straight: you would consider submiting to my argument if I had facts about the origen of the Universe (The Big Bang? I'm not sure what you need.) but you blindly believe a book that doesn't even explain how the Universe specifically came into being? Seriously, you look at a book written over 2,000 years ago to educate you on the origens of the Universe when all it says is "God did it"? That isn't an explanation anymore than magic did it! How did God create the Universe, through what process?

Lol, not it isn't. What Gospel says that God's sacrifice was turning into a man?

No, that just isn't right and it certainly isn't a Catholic belief. What verses are you basing any of this on?

How am I filled with hatred any more than you are? Do you just like to attempt to push people's buttons once you have nothing left to argue with?

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You need to read your theology because you keep making false claims.

Your omnipotent God is too weak to imprint a memory of him in every person and instead needs to rely on humans to write down his history? Wow.

Oh, I don't know, their genocidal natures or advocation of social norms we would find abhorrent today?

Yeah, in no way did you answer my question. Why is God powerless to create a permanent and inerrantdocument free of contradictions and false claims about history?

You have a different term for atheist than I do, but not surprised.
You saying they heard about God and them actually hearing about him don't mean jack. Show how the canaanites heard about God of Jews. Before they were slaughtered.
