Why would anybody want to invent Mormonism and get into serious hassle from the Snooty Priests and the US government? What was their motive?

 

A good definition of Christian is "somebody who likes Jesus", as that'll wipe out most of our imperfections.

I have no way of knowing. I am sure that adults miss the point if they read the Bible stories as if they were still ten years old.

 

My God created the universe and parting the red sea and providing a path to walk through it on dry ground is nothing.

 

And the Holy Spirit tells you to believe a known con artist and trust his word.

Why should anyone think you are getting reliable information, including yourself?

 

I believe the Word of God.

 

You believe a book that the voice in your head tells you is the Word of God. But that same voice told you to trust the word of Ron Wyatt too, so maybe it's advice isn't that good.

If I remember the story right, didn't God send Moses back from a place where it would be easy to cross to a place where it was more difficult so that God could demonstrate how awesome he was?

 

Even his own people disowned him. It's sheer nonsense to believe all the things he's supposed to have found. People have searched for centuries to find the Ark of the Covenant. Had he done so he would have certainly shown it. Read all his claims with open eyes. You'll realise he was a fraud.

Not much of an historian are you. Many an army has been defeated by overwhelming numbers.

And I haven't quoted historians, I've given you records left by ancient civilisations. With luck, in a 1000 years time some future archaeologist will come across the Cenotaph, just as we have come across the records they have left. The same with other records and statues, time capsules of todays world.

You many not like the fact but the Bible has been proven to be written by men and full of errors. Your problem is not facing up to reality, and, like most Christians, not prepared to study outside what you have been told.

 

Yeah, I've seen and read all your "proof" over the years and it's nothing but liars and deceivers twisting scripture. The Bible is the Word of God.

 

So you accept you're not prepared to study. Show me what I've twisted. I studied the Bible as a Christian for many years. Much of the Bible does not stand up to real scrutiny. That's why I'm an agnostic now.

Because of the "Holy Spirit". Yet you also believe known con-man Ron Wyatt to be telling the truth because of the same thing.

Might your "Holy Spirit" not be a reliable source of information?

 

Explain why the supposed census at the time of Jesus's birth contradicts literally everything we known from Roman documentation about how they conducted censuses.
