So no one went to school to get an education? To get a degree so they could get their COMMISSION WHEN THEY JOINED THE MILITARY.

Explain to my how else Perry would be able to fly military aircraft without getting his degree first?

Perry's draft number was 275, he would not have had a worry about having to avoid the draft he would not have been called.

I was drafted in early 1966, before the lottery. I only had one year of college. I scored very high on my written tests in basic training. They offered me O.C.S., Fixed Wing Flight School, and Helicopter Pilot School.
So, it was not necessary to have a degree, but you had to have a fairly good IQ (GT) to get a commission.

Note passed in math class? Your best friend's girlfriend had a cousin who told you? God? (Just goofin' around, no hostility intended).

I'd say I represent the majority of Obama supporters, dispite his ideologies or political labels. You guys like to segregate and marginalize those that have differing views, makes it like shooting fish in a barrel when arguing. We like to include a fuller/wiser perspective.

 

It's hard to debate this without a proper context. What is the history of the US that is ignored and why are you so sure of your preferred version of it?

It's a disingenuous smear given:
a) that these 'liberals' likely opposed that war - and
b) None of them would vote for the guy even if he did go to Vietnam.

Did they bother to give McCain a chance even in their minds? He was a war prisoner for Christ's sake and a moderate politically to boot but they preferred Obama.

Conservatives are individuals,,some support Gay marriage, some do not, some support abortion others do not....see how that works?

 

This is just the first of the personal attacks against Perry. The Obama re-election team has already stated they they plan to destroy their opponents. They have to, they certainly can't run on Obama's record.But I believe that the people of this country have woken up enough to reject this kind of smear attempt.

Funny, I've not heard 'grouping' being tossed about lately, and including groups is better than excluding, in my book.

It's not the gay or abortion support I'm concerned about, but the far more dangerous aspects they tend to glom towards. I don't like how that works.

 

He is claiming that not immediately volunteering for military service at age 18 is the same thing as dodging service. Perry was 18 in 1968, and instead of enlisting he went to an ROTC program in college, graduated in 1972, and went into the Air Force.

His effort is part of a massive smear campaign that the Left has launched to try to tear Perry down. It won't work because Perry doesn't have any skeletons in his closet. Texas politics can get rough, especially when you have the Bushes against you as Perry did in his last primary race. If he had it dirty laundry it would have been found by now.

 

Coming from someone who claims to come from a part of the US which was treasonous and may still be Im not at all surprised that you would speak so highly of a separatist like Perry.
