Again, you make the perfect the enemy of the good. You are talking about a small minority of cases - thousands compared to the millions who have gotten the vaccine. Your risk assessment capabilities are poor.

LOL... hardly. Demonstrating that the good has teeth is actually essential for risk assessment. Ignoring risk is what reckless folks do.

But, the more important part of this is that obviously, the vaccine doesn't perform in the way that folks marketed that it would. The fact that folks call them breakout cases is emblematic of the actual issue here. There weren't supposed to be break out cases. At an efficacy claim of over 98%, 2% infection rates were likely the actual risk rate to begin with. So, literally no improvement.

And when it turns out that variation causes higher but less deadly outbreaks, then what? My issue is that the marketing hype failed. You should by now be able to recognize this, although, denial is a happy place for most liberal folk.

What got full authorization was not the Pfizer vaccine that is being used under emergency use authorization. Full authorization was given to a product named COMIRNATY, which is supposed to be the same formulation but, as the FDA notes, has a legal distinction. The vaccine that we are familiar with still only has emergency use authorization.

So, what's the difference? A vaccine approved for emergency use has a shield of liability, while a fully approved one does not.

The FDA also notes that there is not enough supply of COMIRNATY, so the emergency use authorization of the current vaccine is still in effect.

So, there's not enough supply of a product that is identical except for labeling apparently, so just keep on using what you've been using. And why not? If Pfizer uses the approved brand, it is subject to liability, while Moderna and J&J are not.

So, what this amounts to is a snow job being done for pr purposes. We all saw Biden and others touting this ''full approval" and what it means. In reality, nothing has changed. No manufacturer is going to open itself up to product liability when it doesn't have to.
