While I certainly realize this thread will be removed ASAP, simply because it challenges people into an uncomfortable place... for obvious reasons... I have to ask:

Since so many people here, calling names, arguing pro-abortion, hating on pro-lifers, posting rhetorical/hypothetical/strawmen/ad hom/etc, etc..>>>Flamebait Removed<<<. there has to be a number of you who have had abortions.

The most popular poster in this forum claims "43%" of you. That's quite a lot, even for the liberal spin that sourced that.

So... 43% of you have had abortions and fight so strongly for them... which of you is willing to admit this?
Shame shouldn't hold anyone back, of course... and no one would look down on you for it. It's legal, and you had a good reason for it.
Just post if you have, and if you feel the need... explain why.

Guys feel free to vote on behalf of your wives.

No sarcasm, no condemnation, just simple backing of all the fighting that goes on here.

Similar polls have been posted in the past with a few pro-lifers and one pro-choicer responding. Don't be too surprised if someone comes forward.

As I said before it was (expectedly) deleted.... I would be surprised if I get a "yes".

Certainly not from those who argue for abortion all day on the 'net.

As a male it is something I will never have to physically deal with .. however that does not mean that as a male I cannot engage in an issue that would, if pro-lifers got their way, and as far as I am concerned, undermine one of the things I hold to be important and that is the right for ANY person to be able to make decisions about who, what, where and when their body is used by another.

As far as I am aware there have been two posters here who have admitted to having an abortion, one is now pro-life (and no longer seems to post), the other is pro-choice.

I find it amusing that you proclaim "so many people here, calling names, arguing pro-abortion, hating on pro-lifers, posting rhetorical/hypothetical/strawmen/ad hom/etc, etc." when from my own experiences here it is the pro-lifers who consistently scream out "murderers" or "pro-abortion" etc etc to pro-choice people, and as yet I have yet to see a single "pro-abortion" post here, it is this type of common misrepresentation of who pro-choicers are that leads only to a slanging match.
As far as your reasons for being a pro-lifer are I really could not careless, just so long as you don't try to force your minority opinion onto all others by weight of law.

Just the point though isn't it, you are not interested in anything that disagrees with your opinion or lies.

    Thanks

As far as agreeing or disagreeing I wouldn't know. I didn't read it.

    Regardless.... It's a poll.

    Maybe you missed that.

    Goodnight.

    1. I have NEVER read any comment that was "pro-abortion." MERELY PRO-CHOICE!
2.. I have never seen any "hating on pro-lifers," merely arguments that demonstrated that, the position of (so called) "pro-lifers," was very short sighted, as te same people are usually pro-war, pro-death penally, and anti "CHILD," in the sense that those people LOVE to advocate for "the unborn," but I have never seen one advocate for better education (including possibility to increase taxes to provide better education), better and more accessible health care for the fetus, the child and the mother. . .throughout the CHILD"s life, better and cheaper (subsidized, maybe. . .instead of subsidizing big corporations?) child care, and accepting that single mothers will OFTEN have the need for more social support (including welfare and food stamps) than other members of society.

Basically, your whole rant is merely a reflection of the delusion and the narrow minded position you present . . .badly!

I have OFTEN said (even in this forum), that one of my greatest blessings (other than my two children) was that I was never faced with this difficult decision of whether to terminate or not a pregnancy. But I be damned if I condemn ANY woman who is faced with that decision! If GOD gives woman a choice. . .who are YOU to withhold that decision from a woman!

    - - - Updated - - -

What is the purpose of a poll if you do NOTHING with it?

Flamebaiting? Pointing the finger at "some" people?

    Duh!

Maybe you missed your own OP as well, which is what I was addressing . .you know the usual pro-life BS.

Another funny thing, you proclaim about the attacks on pro-lifers and yet your very first response to me was - "Not interested in whiny rants

    Hypocrite is what you are.

I literally have met only two people on here who admitted to having an abortion in their life. One is pro-life the other is pro-choice. Both have their reasons and have even discussed them with each other. So far though one has left and I believe the other still ocassionally lurks here.

I myself have never experienced an abortion but I have taken the morning after pill twice in my life and I know some lifers think that is equivalent to abortion for some reason or other.

According to polls, most people believe abortion is wrong. There is a consensus that abortion is wrong.

Based on some of the rhetoric I hear, I think there is a fair percentage of the pro-life side which doesn't really believe abortion is murder, and does just want to 'punish' women for having sex, or not wanting to raise a child. Which is just a form of elitism

I think that pro-lifers who are against abortion 100% just for 'religious' reasons aren't really "pro-life" as much as they are "anti-sex" - me I'm legitimately concerned about the fact that many pro-choicers don't seem concerned about the definition of life at all, but rather the "mother's sovereignty" since this could lead to late term abortion being legal on demand for any reason - the elitists who just dislike the idea of women (gasp) being allowed to have sex without consequences on the other hand need to remember what country they're in - hint it's not Iran

Re your comment as follows - "me I'm legitimately concerned about the fact that many pro-choicers don't seem concerned about the definition of life at all, but rather the "mother's sovereignty" since this could lead to late term abortion being legal on demand for any reason", I'd just like to point out that this is the case in Canada and their late-term abortions rate is LOWER than the USA, so from that comparison I feel your fears are ill founded.

0.7% of abortions were after 20 weeks in Canada (2003)
1.4% of abortions were after 21 weeks in US (2003)

Years ago, most people would be against Roe. Vs wade. The moral decline of the 1960s and the sexual revolution made abortion acceptable.

Awwww jeez, here he goes again with his sexual revolution which he'll claim was started by only two men and he'll never realize abortion has been around AND acceptable many times and many places BEFORE 1960...:eyepopping:
Sam, the whole world has been up and down in it's morals since it started and abortion never made a difference...

and of course you have evidence to back up your "years ago" comment don't you, or is this you yet again looking into peoples minds in order to know they would be against it .. dead minds as well .. neat trick.

and of course you know that abortion was practiced long before the 1960's don't you, in fact it has been legal for more than half of the USA's history. UNTIL the last third of the nineteenth century, when it was criminalized state by state across the land, abortion was legal before "quickening" (approximately the fourth month of pregnancy). Colonial home medical guides gave recipes for "bringing on the menses" with herbs that could be grown in one's garden or easily found in the woods. By the mid eighteenth century commercial preparations were so widely available that they had inspired their own euphemism ("taking the trade") and of course you know that the first restrictions on abortion passed in the 1820's and 1830's were actually poison control laws due to the many 'remedies' often being fatal and as such the law banned the sale of commercial abortifacients and not abortion itself. The laws made little difference. By the 1840s the abortion business -- including the sale of illegal drugs, which were widely advertised in the popular press -- was booming, and that later abortion laws were based upon physicians wanting to establish their supremacy over midwives and homeopaths, also the fear of 'aliens' taking over the country - Immigration, especially by Catholics and nonwhites, was increasing, while birth rates among white native-born Protestants were declining. (Unlike the typical abortion patient of today, that of the nineteenth century was a middle- or upper-class white married woman.) Would the West "be filled by our own children or by those of aliens?" the physician and anti-abortion leader Horatio R. Storer asked in 1868. "This is a question our women must answer; upon their loins depends the future destiny of the nation." (It should be mentioned that the nineteenth-century women's movement also opposed abortion, having pinned its hopes on "voluntary motherhood" -- the right of wives to control the frequency and timing of sex with their husbands.)

It would appear that you still have much to learn about your own history of abortion.

It's really rather amusing that you keep on about this so called moral decline of the 1960's as exactly the same thing was said about the 1900's, 1920's, 1940's and 1950's

Unless you are demanding that all anti-murder laws be repealed so that everyone has the equal freedom to kill whoever they choose, then you are not really pro-choice. You're just trying to play God with other people's right to life. Knowing that your own life can never be negatively impacted by other people's choice to kill. It's the same reason poor people believe in wealth redistribution. The person who has nothing to lose has no reason not to support something that only hurts others. But their indifference to the suffering of those people does speak volumes about their character. Or lack thereof.

Reagan's quote is just an example of stupidity, of course all people who are pro-choice have already been born, just as all pro-lifers have already been born and as zef cannot think or have reason to an opinion on the matter the quote is meaningless.

Just how did you extrapolate your comment above from mine, or did you miss this part - " if pro-lifers got their way, and as far as I am concerned, undermine one of the things I hold to be important and that is the right for ANY person to be able to make decisions about who, what, where and when their body is used by another." and in case you hadn't noticed people do have the equal freedom to kill who ever they want .. do you really think laws stop it happening, we punish people who do make the choice (notice we do not take away that choice) to kill someone because that killing effects society as a whole, abortion does not effect anybody but the people involved, and if you actually read my comment you will see that it says "As a male it is something I will never have to physically deal with" .. I make no mention of any other dealings I may or may not have with the issue so in effect you have absolutely no grounds to state " Knowing that your own life can never be negatively impacted by other people's choice to kill.", you have no idea or knowledge if my life has ever been effected ergo it is nothing but projection of your preconceived opinion.

Which god are you talking about, personally I don't believe in any of them so how can I be playing at something I don't even believe in. You are begging the question of proving that it is your particular brand of god that gives you or anybody else the right to life, so please do put forward your evidence to support this assumption.

What suffering would that be, given that a zef is incapable of the things you try to subscribe to it .. its the same old emotional projection played at every turn by pro-lifers, no basis in fact.
