Your propaganda from the Democratic National Committee of WI is completely WRONG. 69.94% of total income taxes were paid by the top 10% of income earners. $60,000 in income does not get one into the top 25% and is far from the top 10%. The top 25% pay 86.34% of all income taxes. Those that would be in the 26% to 49% group would include income earners making $60,000. The 26% to 49% group pays 13.66% of the total income taxes. Meaning the top 49% pay 100% of all income taxes. The bottom 51% of INCOME EARNERS pay no income tax.

In 2010, the Federal Government collected $898 billion in personal income taxes. Of that $898 billion, the top 25% paid $775 billion. In rough numbers, that means the rich paid 8 dollars of every 9 tax dollars collected.

Yet the incompetent incumbent idiot thinks that's less than a "fair share."

Evidently he not only cannot think, he cannot do simple math either.

And they make 80% of the income. How cool is that?

Funny how you boys never compare taxes paid to income. Why is that do you suppose?

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that would effect anything close to fiscal responsibility.

The majority of the very wealthy pay little to no income tax, but a much smaller percentage of their income in capital gains taxes. Also, the top 20% holds 84% of the wealth in this country while the bottom 40% controls just .3%. While I certainly agree that the government could and should spend significantly less money, I don't for one second feel like the wealthy pay anywhere near their fare share of the taxes in this country. The wealthy benefit more from an orderly, productive society with solid infrastructure, collective defense, an educated working class, etc., etc., etc.

Wealth accumulates when one or a small group of people are able to exploit the efforts of many and keep the majority of the of the fruits of their labor for themselves. I understand risk and I understand and agree with people having a right to what they can accumulate, but society doesn't function if the top controllers of wealth are able to completely dominate all industry along with the governing apparatus that is in place to maintain the interests of the nation as a whole.

Funny how you have no concept of a FACT. The rich receive less than half of the earned income in the US.

Liberals cannot seem to grasp that there is a difference between income and wealth. Income tax is on INCOME. Don't know why you can't understand that, it seems simple and straightforward. Wealth is not taxed as income.

After paying 86.34% of all income tax by the top 25%. $8 dollars out of every $9 income tax dollars collected. They also pay the 7.65% FICA taxes on their incomes. And since many are business owners they also pay 7.65% FICA tax on every employees income since many liberals do not realize that FICA taxes are 15.3%, Half paid by the employee and half paid by the employer. And if a rich person is self employed, they pay the 15.3% by themselves. And since the rich buy more than the poor, the rich also pay more sales tax. and since the property owned by the rich is vastly greater and more expensive that that of the poor, the rich pay more property tax as well. And since the rich buy larger more expensive autos, they pay gas guzzlers taxers that the poor don't.

The top 1% get 20.% of the income and pay 38.02% of the income tax.

The top 5% get 34.73% of the income and pay 56.72% of the income tax.

The top 10% get 45.77% of the income and pay 69.94% of the income tax.

The top 50% get 87.25% of the income and pay 100% of the income tax.

The bottom 50% get 12.75% of the income and pay 0% of the income tax.

THERE IS YOUR TAXES PAID COMPARED TO INCOME.

Everywhere you wish to examine with a critical but unbiased eye, you find the rich always paying well above their "fair share."

Debating with you is like taking candy from a baby, a not so smart baby!

What would you like for "RICH?"

The top 1% witn incomes above $380,354.00. That made 20.00% of the total income and paid 38.02% of the total income taxes?
    Or include?
The top 5% with incomes above $159,619.00. That made 34.73% of the income and paid 58.72% of the total income taxes.
    Or include?
The top 10% with incomes above $113,799.00. That made 45.77% of the income and paid 69.94% of the total income taxes.

However we will WILL NOT include the remaining NINETY PERCENT OF INCOME EARNERS THAT MADE 54.23% OF THE NATIONS INCOME, AGI $10,100,557,000,000.00 [THAT'S TEN TRILLION] AND PAID 30.06% OF THE TOTAL INCOME TAXES.
