John Terry wants Chelsea to sign Modric. "He's a world-class player who is very difficult to play against," said Terry. "He's agile, quick and a great finisher like we've seen over many years.

"We've got a good squad. If he comes he could certainly add to that."

If they want to overpay, they can have him. And John Terry's mum is a thief.

Well, hopefully this football thread continues. Anyone believe Barcelona will finally get Fabergas to the Nou Camp??

I do, but I don't understand why he wants to go. At least not at this moment. He should play a few more seasons at Arsenal, and then replace Xavi when he retires. As it stands, where is he going to fit in? He isn't as good as Xavi or Iniesta, so he won't start ahead of them. So either he is going to sit on the bench, or Iniesta is going to move forward either onto the left or right, and Fabregas will be replacing Pedro or Villa. I personally think the former is more likely, and that if he did go, he wouldn't be first choice. Which is why it just makes sense for him to stay at Arsenal until Barcelona decide it is time to replace Xavi(who is going to be 32 midway through next season). However I do think this year they will finally get Fabregas.

Any word on if chelsea will loan out daniel sturridge again? He did decently well with bolton last year, but Chelsea is obviously stacked with forwards.

I believe Barcelona are foolish to want him right now. They should focus on signing the young Chilean Sanchez, who seems to want nothing to do with playing in England. He has world class talent and seems to fit the total football model that Barcelona employs. Fabergas is a quality player, but as you said, he is not Iniesta or Xavi. If the Gooners are offered 35 million quid for him, they would be fools to not sell. They will face this question every time transfer seasons starts up.

It would be entirely possible, especially if they can buy Hulk or Falcao away from Porto. The chance to play with their former manager could bring either of them to the bridge. If that happens, then Sturridge would likely be loaned out again. I think they would be wise to keep Sturridge in their squad and sell Kalou. As you said, Sturridge was solid for Bolton last year. I hope he is able to see more time on the pitch somewhere.

Wolves fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of League Two outfit Shrewsbury in a pre-season friendly at Greenhous Meadow. Tee-Hee.:)

When I first started following soccer in 1998, I sort of picked 2 teams to follow. One was Liverpool, the other was Nottingham Forest. I always loved history, even as a kid, and I knew about Forest's history, and that appealed to me. A team with a lot of history that had fallen on sort of hard times. The problem with that was, that season was the last season they were in the top flight ever since. That sort of made my decision for me to support Liverpool. Had Forest not been relegated that year, there is a good chance I would support them now. I still play them every year in Football Manager!! :) I couldn't play with Liverpool, it was always too easy, Nottingham Forest was always much more of a challenge.

Forest are one of England's big clubs that are currently not in the top flight. Forest, Leeds, and Wednesday all need to be back in the top flight. I remember Clough and how Forest were one of the great sides in Europe. Football has changed so much now that a very small club like Wigan or Reading can get into the top flight, while these bigger clubs are stuck in the second, or even third tier.

I hope Mancini keeps him out of the starting XI for a long time. He is disrespecting the game.

    Going to be? :-D

No denying he is talented, but I think it's already going to waste with the (*)(*)(*)(*)-poor attitude he has.

I would not want him in a Spurs shirt, even if it was on a Bosman.

Balotelli is a useless chav; Mancini raised him at Inter and was gracious enough to splash out and bring him to City; and this is how he repays the good man...
