    THANK YOU!

It's quite refreshing to read that someone else can recognize that someone has obviously diminished mental capacity, whether it's dementia, schizophrenia or whatever it may be.....

I had said repeatedly that normal, rationale, sane people do not shoot someone b/c they're texting....for some reason this guy has gone off the deep end.... like the AZ shooter, who shot Gabby Gifford and others, he was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.......

They and many others w/serious mental problems live among us and for some weird reason, many normal people, way over the age of 18 can't seem to realize that.....

Do normal, sane and rationale people do that?

I don't have a problem with guns or gun ownership.. I just think Reeves is nuts... He spent 40 years as a cop and now thinks everyone has to obey him.. My favorite uncle was Marine Air Corps .. retired as a full bird colonel.. and copped the same attitude a few years into retirement.

And wouldn't a comprehensive annual physical and mental exam have most probably caught this deterioration in time?

I CANNOT understand why most gun advocates are against this. Most recreational pilots have invested several years of training and several tens of thousands of dollars into their hobbies, yet very few of them object to an annual physical which can easily take the entire privilege away. This is because, IMO, most pilots are people of great common sense, they recognize they are doing something very dangerous to themselves and others, and they don't want to die and take several innocent bystanders with them. I can't say the same about most gun owners and, to me, that is an immensely wrong situation.

Reeves is a retired policeman. A current policeman can and will shoot you if you throw anything at him, a popcorn carton, a cell phone whatever, and he will recieve thirty days off duty with pay.

This guy forgot he wasn't a policeman anymore, and subject to different rules.

    Just a thought.

Um, yea, going to have to call bs on that.

If a police officer shoots you for throwing popcorn at him, I expect to see him in front of a grand jury.

I wish you were right, but instances of police over-reacting and brutality are unfortunately all too common.

So, based on your comments, I would think that you should be a prime supporter for mental health evaluation PRIOR to obtaining a firearm permit, AND to regular (let's say, every 5 years) requirement for renewing that license based on another firearms skills AND another mental evaluation.

So why are so many people fighting so hard to keep increased gun control out of?

    This is unfortunately true.

I had said before that mental health evaluations should be mandated b/f issuing firearms and all family members w/mental problems should be documented also & restrictions made where necessary....... to prevent another Adam Lanza tragedy......

Law abiding gun owners get so tired of hearing about stricter gun control for them, but those restrictions doesn't effect the criminals w/their UNregistered firearms....

Why is that so hard to understand?

and not just any cop, he was a retired police chief and an organizer for most of the current SWAT teams in Fl.
Did you see the video where he walked around the crime scene afterwards with a polar pop in his hands? They didn't even cuff him when he was placed in the car. This is the typical mindset of police..it is only ok for them to murder us. Thank God there were witnesses or else he would have gotten away with this.
