I can imagine the freak out by George Soros, Biden and all the foreign companies in Ukraine, as they lose their investments in Ukraine. They're the ones the Ukrainian conscripts have been fighting and dying for.

President Vladimir Putin together with the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, and the leaders of Kherson and Zaporozhye, Vladimir Saldo and Evgeny Balitsky signed treaties on the inclusion of four former Ukrainian regions into the Russian Federation. Friday’s ceremony marked the start of the formal process of their accession.

The treaties will now be submitted to Russia’s Constitutional Court, which will assess them to ensure they do not violate Russian law. Once they are cleared, the agreements will have to be ratified first by the State Duma – the lower house of the Russian parliament – and then by the Federal Council, its upper house.

The lawmakers will also need to pass legislation on incorporating the two republics and two regions into Russia. The Donbass republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye, will become part of Russia no sooner than the law is signed by Putin.

By all accounts, it seems the process will be completed by October 4 and then the new Republics will become part of the Russian Federation. After that Zalensky will receive an ultimatum to get his troops out of the Russian Federation and all hell will break loose.

The documents must now be verified by the Constitutional Court and ratified by parliament

Nothing new under the sun – similar situation we had in 1939: Russia together with Nazi Germany attacked Poland. Hitler took the western part of Poland, Russia took the eastern part. After a ‘free elections’ people from the eastern Poland begged Stalin to be annexed to Russia. Good Stalin could not refuse – he agreed:

The difference is that the people of Poland, unlike the people in Southern and Eastern Ukraine didn't speak Russian, they weren't Russian Orthodox, they didn't go to school in Russia, they didn't conduct business in Russian and they didn't marry Russians.

So let's look at the results of Obama and Nulands overthrow of the legally elected Pres. of Ukraine Yanukovich.

According to one source, other than the deaths and destruction of Ukraine the Russian Federation almost immediately, doubled its revenues from fossil fuels (natural gas, oil, coal, etc.), has almost tripled its revenues from cereals and metals, such as nickel, has increased its population by 13% and its geostrategic position in the northern Black Sea by 80% compared to February 2014.

At least with Russia the wealth will go to the Ukrainian people, and not to Soros and the foreign corporations. Kharkov and Odessa will be next.

Without Zalensky's approval... Russian soldiers will continue to die and the accession paperwork means nothing at all.

And I'm sure Saddam Hussein felt the same way from August 2, 1990 - January 16, 1991. Not so much after that. Wannabe Czar Vlad the Incompetent is on a collision course with the same iceberg. Your tree is barren.

Lots of goodies left in that lend-lease pantry, though...

I don't see any difference - every time Russia occupies any territory and makes 'free' elections - people vote to join Russia, and every time Russians soldiers left occupied territory, we see mass graves and story about the lection fraud. 2022 the same as in occupied Poland in 1939.

Granny Putin wants to emulate his heroes, Hitler and Stalin. Of course, neither of those men would have grovelled to China & India & neither would have begged them for help while promising not to say anything if they don't. This is the spectacle Russia has been reduced to under Putin - a sad old man in adult daipers begging for help while he pretends people agree with him. Russia is a laughing stock.

Russians ill annex anyone's land no matter what church they attended, what schools they went to or what language they speak. They will fix all that in a generation by indoctrination in schools and forced political views. Russians are a lot like Democrats in that regard.

Maybe you better listen to Putin's speech which had so infuriated the West. I only wish it wasn't so hard to understand the interpreter. I always prefer a good written interpretation, but regardless Putin is not joking. This reminds me of General Montgomery's first words in his military manual. "Never attack Russia." Well Zalensky, Russia has now four new territories you better not attack.

I liked the ending of it and when he mentioned moral issues and family values. By the way, I didn't see any guns aiming at anyone's heads?

Russia hasn't been attacked. Russia claiming another country's territory as its own does not make it so.

Bigfella, are you talking about Biden?

It was a tale that somehow bears

    a similarity to me.

I'm stiff as I can be.

With movements strange and mind deranged

    Nope.

Didn't see Biden grovelling before the Presidents of India & China. Putin did. He practically begged them for help in public. Even worse, their response was to scold him like a naughty child.

Russia used to be a powerful nation respected by others. Now it is so weak & pathetic that former Russian possessions in Central Asia spit in its face. That is what Putin has done to Russia - made it a laughing stock.

Wasn't that what the Ukrainians were doing to the Russians in Ukraine? Sounds like projection to me.

First of all the people in the 4 areas that joined Russia were always part of Russia, so they speak Russian and have a Russian consciousness. If there are a few Ukrainian stragglers like in Kherson, and who had voted for Russia because they didn't like being shelled by Ukraine, then I'm sure Russia will accommodate them the same way they have the other 123 languages spoken in the Federation.

Instead of looking at Russia's fait accompli, we should start looking at where Biden's next war will be? I foresee the Baltics and Scandinavia.

Putin is pushing the world closer to the brink. Zelensky will retake the occupied areas in Ukraine and Putin will have to put up or shut up. At that point the west will respond or there will be no stopping him. Russia doesn't have any new sovereign territory.

I don't think Ukraine is going to stop pushing Russia out...regardless of how many declarations Russia signs.

Be interesting to see the vegas odds on that bet.. more interesting would be the odds of Ukraine succeeding ..

On that note .. Putin had a long rousing speech today - to Russia and to the World .. announcing its intentions .. interestingly concurrent with the Tonkin incident - in the form of a pipeline.

The Russians in Russia and the Russians in the 4 new territories consider themselves part of Russia and that's all that matters. As for Soros and the foreign corporations, well if they can find more Ukrainian cannon fodder, then maybe they can test Russia and see if Montgomery was right?
