Of course it's not the same thing. The Special Operation in Ukraine was conducted to stop the genocide of the Russians in the Donbas as well as to keep Ukraine from becoming an existential threat to Russia by acquiring nukes. Therefore it was well within international law.

The war in Libya in contrast, was to stop Khadafy from putting Africa on a gold standard and to raise their standard of living by going off the Petrol Dollar. The reason given to the UN for intervention was to establish a no fly zone because of the fighting. Nato of course disregarded it and began bombing the country. They also disregarded the promise they made to protect Khadafy.

Because of our actions, Libya which was the richest nation in Africa and with excellent social services, is now completely destroyed .

Stop talking Putin’s schiest! Putin started a war against Ukraine not some special operation. There was no genocide of Russians in the Donbas or anywhere in Ukraine and you know that. Russians where the invaders going back a while and after Stalin murdered 5-6 million Ukrainians during the Famine he had Russians move in to Ukraine to replace the murdered Ukrainians. Most Ukrainians in the East spoke Russian and Russians were of allowed to speak Russians.

Zalenskiy grew up speaking Russian and did not learn Ukrainian until he decided to run for president. In the last few months I heard Ukrainians speaking Russian as they condemned Russia for invasion and murder.

 

Every country, if it can, tries to support a friendly government in each country. The US and Russia are doing it for years. In Ukraine it is a clear US victory over Russia. Russia supported kleptocrat Yanukovich who supported Russia style regime while the US supported Ukrainian fraction which supported the Western style democracy. Russia was much closer to Ukraine than the US, Russia had many agents working in Ukraine, but Ukraine people decided they want Western style democracy.

Did the US help Ukrainians? Yes.
Did Russia try to prevent it? Yes.

 

Pravda, Ukraine wanted to be a European country economically, culturally, and politically ( democratic) The EU saw a peaceful developed Ukraine as a good trading partner and a future expanding market. Russia of course fears democracy and an open society so Putin was afraid that if Ukraine joined the EU and had a democracy soon the Russians would want democracy.

Russia tried to hold Ukraine intact with the Minsk II agreement, but Kiev refused to comply with it and kept on attacking and killing the Russians in Donetsk. I believe that when Ukraine is freed by Moscow, that referendums will be held throughout the country. This way people can vote and choose which country they want to be aligned with.
