He wanted out of Cincy. Does that mean he can just run over to Oakland and win? No. Campbell is out for 6 weeks and Jamarcus Russell is on the purple drank. Palmer I am sure has been training, but he has to create chemistry with the new receivers. Otherwise it's Curtis Painter the 2nd.
Yeah so? He hasn't seen a real snap since....... Donovan McNabb use to be OK too. Be got benched for Christian Ponder, a rookie.
Indeed. HE also has not had a yearly quarterback rating break ino the 90's since 2007, threw 20 picks last year, and is walking into a new system. It seems even without Al Davis the Raiders are bumbling idiots.
Raider Fan. You realize you gave up (2) 1st Round picks for an Old Quarterback that has not performed in years with shot knees? Signed, 9er Fan Bolt's Fan
From 1999 to 2002 Rich Gannon was the full-time Raiders quarterback. Since then, the Raiders have used a whopping eleven starting QB's -- Rick Meier, Marques Tuiasosopo, Andrew Walter, Aaron Brooks, Kerry Collins, Josh McCowan, Daunte Culpepper, Ja Marcus Russell, Bruce Gradowski, Charlie Frye, and Jason Campbell. Maybe the addition of Carson Palmer will provide a little stability to the offense, and he'll become a great Raider QB like Kenny Stabler!
So, it's basically a 1'st and 2'nd (possible another 1'st if Palmer plays well enough) for a 31 year old, immobile QB whose rating over the last 3 years has not been over 84. But Jason Campbell (the Raiders injured QB) will be back in as little as 6 weeks. What are they going to do then? If Campbell goes back to starting - you will have given up two high draft picks for a 6 game QB rental (though you could then trade him for something). Seems like a bit of a panic trade from the Raiders perspective. A solid/good one from the Bengals.
The 49ers are my #1. But, I live in SoCal and I go to Bolts games often... the NFC / AFC split is legit and I favor 49ers over Chargers when they meet. Sorry if you are so closed minded, but hey you are a liberal.
Spot on analysis. I thought the Raiders would quit sucking arse on personnel acquisition after Al Davis died.... I ADMIT IT... I WAS WRONG!
The Raiders are moving up in the world now that Al Davis is gone. I wish the Dallas Cowboys would have similar luck with Jerry Jones but he seems pretty healthy.
