Americans are getting the Coronavirus, but many are not dying. The survival rate is much higher than countries with socialized medicine. And thanks to the President's quick action to inform the public about the benefits of hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin, people are surviving who have never survived before.

Just a thought: if they never survived before how could they be here to survive? Quick action by the president my ass. The president has done absolutely nothing. The governors of each state have had to take the reins and decide what's best for their state. The problem is you're got some idiot governors who didn't care that kids spent spring break on their beaches and you've got some states like New York struggling to keep people alive by staying in their homes when possible. If we had a president who took control as he should, he could have directed everyone in to self quarantine and have much better control of what's going on instead of the trouble we're in. It's for damn sure the United States aren't united, thanks to the White House.

Dude. There's a reason that you don't have an article (as required for this forum) and its because making any claims about the mortality rate in the US at this point is utterly irresponsible.

Think that I'm wrong? Consider how you reached the conclusion for the mortality rate. You took the number of dead and compared that to the number of cases, didn't you? Then that means you are assuming one of only two outcomes: Infection or Death. But if you still have the virus, you can still be killed by the virus.

The average number of days from infection to death is ~20 days.

I hear that if you don't survive once, it is unlikely you will survive again! Also, in the US, teen pregnancy rates drop significantly at age 20!

    Lol!

Its only been a short time. People haven't had TIME to die yet!

We just have a few more weeks before the hospitals are overwhelmed, and the deaths will probably delight you then.

Not only do the current people tgwb die- but when we start disconnecting the respirators from older people in order to give them younger people because they are more likely to survive and quicker- the death numbers will really get goin then!

But that is what Trump and the Republicans want, isn't it? Get rid of the Social Security users and high expense oldsters? Younger people can take over all those paid-off houses and vote for more Republicans? Eliminating the estate tax and then detting rid of those estate taxes?

Oh, yeah, life is getting sweet!

Yup, thank goodness Plugs isn't POTUS, he would not have restricted China travel as Trump wisely did.

Approval of Trump's handling of the virus now up to 60%.

I think that a statue or memorial of some type should be erected somewhere in the world in honor of the Chinese Dr. from the Wuhan Hospital who blew the whistle on this virus to warn others back in December. He has since died from it. Dr. Li Wenliang:

I think its too early to judge any success on the mortality rate. plus if we keep up testing that will push the number down because they have been diagnosed but not recovered.

recheck the numbers in 15 days and 30 days.

then well have a better clue.

not being pessimistic. trying to be realistic

    Among G20 countries, per capita, single-payer Canada has the lowest rates;

    2,792 cases/26 death

ONCE AGAIN, it boils down to implementing preventive measures sooner than later.

A disaster is happening in the country and you still find time to come and post a dancing Trump dummy.

Aren't you ashamed, just a little?

    Exact.

    I'm Canadian.

    Since yesterday, we're under quarantine.

We're only allowed to go out to the grocery store and the drugstore. All non-essential businesses are closed for three weeks.

The measure was taken as soon as there were 1,500 cases in the country and there are 40 million of us.

    Not realy.

Thanks to these measures, the progression of the virus is 15% per day.

    For U.S,, it's 30%.

    Good luck with that.

If we took NY out of the mix, our numbers would be much better.

thats for the current time, we are about few weeks lag behind EU. remember a week ago it was less than 6000, a week before that was 1000, now its 53000+, by this time next week, we probably will see something like 100k or more, a week after that probably 200-300k. when the hospital are overwhelm and supplies is short, and doctor/nurse start getting sick, thats when death rate claim from current 1.2% to 6%+, as we seen in italy.

I agree with the general sentiment, but surely you misphrased 'people are surviving who have never survived before'... lol!

Is your first language something other than english? That would get you a pass ;)

And it goes without saying that deleting millions of Americans just to make your numbers better is really sad.
