Totally disagree. If someone needs an abortion, they should be able to go where ever they need to go to get it, as long as it’s legal in that state.

And I disagree with them. It’s moronic. Then again. No one is DYING. If a baby is medically killing the mother she can get an abortion or whatever treatment that will save her life….a rare occurrence.

Noem of a Dakota is openly considering it and conservative groups are plotting how best to do it. Why would it be political suicide if people actually think it’s baby murder?

Because women vote and you just being hyperbolic! The SCJ simple washed their hands of this tired ass issue and finally sent down to the minor league STATE ISSUE :roll:

You mean a female governor thinks women should not have absolution if a child in the womb should live or die and wants to provide some protections to the unborn child? Who'd of thunk. I thought all women were for "on demand" abortions?!

Again, congress could pass a reasonable abortion rights law, mimicking any nation in Europe and it would pass in a single session.

And I never thought a senate majority leader would ignore a SCOTUS nominee for 10 months, then 4 years later ram one in in a few weeks.
It's happening. Sometimes it's necessary to stand up for something.
I can't see how you can read the links and not think anyone has or is attempting to do these things.

As I mentioned earlier, the states where abortion will remain legal are going to have to deny extradition, comity and access to information in their jurisdictions to other states. I don't know much about abortion laws, but the latter may have to include performing abortions anonymously so that there are no records of the procedure and the recipient (if they're not providing them anonymously already).

They'd better get that legislation moving now, too....

If they thought they had the votes, they would, don't you think so?
Wouldn't get past the senate, at least for now.
    IMO

It went from being up to the individual to being up to politicians. Women were able to vote when birth control was outlawed last time….

Won’t be any extradition if they live in and return to a state where it’s illegal

It’s a dishonest claim, they couldn’t even pass this law! They aren’t 60 senators willing to vote for abortion rights and he knows it

It won't pass in the Senate.

Collins and Murkowski have already submitted a reasonable abortion rights law and I don't see people clamoring to get it passed.

I don't see such a law being upheld by the SCOTUS, either. From Sebelius to Dobbs the Roberts Court has made it clear that it doesn't give a damn about individual rights.

Provided the state doesn't punish women for obtaining an abortion.

The governor of New York said they're contemplating anti-extradition bills...

It's not about hindering people from travelling, unless that's a deflective type of argument.
It's about punishing people for going out of state to have a prcedure done that isn't allowed in their home state.
The bigger danger to me is this could get out of hand, already on the way. Now states with legal abortion are contemplating laws to fight those.
Then we could have states arguing with other states over an individual's right to the laws in any state they are in without consequence in their own state.
Think of it this way. You are visiting with friends in a state with legalized marijuana, but it's illegal in your home state. You have fun, smoke a little weed at a party where someone takes a tictoc video and posts it.
The wrong person sees it in your home state and later on you are charged with it in your home state. And the guy you rode with to get you there.
Because your home state has statutes that support that.
I don't know, makes sense to me!
Some people dramatize it to sound like they're restricting travel because they feel that putting penalties on travelling to another state is restricting travel.
