I read somewhere recently that a significant portion of people that live in states that Trump won benefit from Obamacare.

If they end up losing their health insurance because of Trump and his minions...The GOP will end up getting punished severely. Which is why I know the GOP will never actually get rid of it entirely. They'll make some minor changes and call it "Trumpcare", and Trump's low information voters will be thoroughly convinced it's something vastly different.

My first question would be, what do they mean by "benefiting" from obamacare? Does that mean having an obamacare policy? I have one, but I don't consider that a benefit. I had health insurance prior to obamacare but because of obamacare's laws, I lost that policy and had no other choice but to purchase a new plan. I pay full price. I'm going bet that I would be considered one who supposedly "benefits" from obamacare.

Sooooo, I call BS on that.

    No, haven't forgotten.

Not that any of this has the slightest thing to do with what the GOP wants to do, or the empty rants of the right wingers on this thead.

My experience, and that of millions of self employed people, was that the cost went down. Significantly.

As you know, our discriminatory health care insurance system charges the highest prices to individuals.

The GOP wants it to stay that way.

You really think health insurance is cheaper for self employed under Obamacare? Have you been living under a rock for the past 6 years? You haven't heard from those us who's premiums doubled and even tripled? You must have your head buried so far in the sand and a mouth full of kool-aid.

You seem deliberately ignorant of the fact that the average was only around 5-9% before ACA.

You seem deliberately ignorant of the fact that it's now around 25% under ACA.

You seem deliberately ignorant of the fact that because they are poor that they can't afford the deductibles and can barely afford the premiums under ACA. While they may be covered, it hasn't increased care.

Quality healthcare costs money. There is no free lunch.

Obamacare crushed so many people by reducing their hours. I know many personally that had to get a second job. I for one, will be able to get my hours back when it's gone. I can't wait.

Right. This is a major factor that the anti-right types are ignoring - 0bamacare is an economy-killer.

Correct. Now that they have control of the Senate and House the repeal process
has started and looks like we'll be free from this unnecessary burden that the
US didn't want, doesn't want and will never want.

I agree. There are too many "worthless meddling moderates" in the Republican party that
don't own a pair of cojones. However, they appear to be in agreement. Let's hope for the
    best. Repeal and don't replace.
I see no need to have an individual mandate. A mandate takes away Liberty which I believe
is the quintessential element of being an American. We get to make our own decisions
and enjoy the consequences whether good or bad.

Last year my wife got laid off because her company had to stay under the 50 employee Obamacare threshold. As long as Obamacare exists that company will never grow.
