Wrong. Companies are not hiring because they do not know what regulation Obama is going to hit them with today. They also will not hire because Obamacare is hurting them to bad

With 16+% of the work force under employed, how much more can you squeeze them?

Which economics course? Opinions within the field vary. If I took a course taught by an "Austrian" economist, I won't get the same instruction as I would from a "Keneysian" so how about you stop giving advice and just prove your case with actual evidence if you can.

Since "Obama's chances of winning re-election in 2012 are directly tied to the success or failure of the recovery of the US economy," is because of "it's the economy stupid," therefore, James Carville's Democratic Party does not want Obama to be reelected, consequently "It's not Camelot stupid" is the reality of the false premise that Obama's chances of winning are directly tied to the economy.

Since Republican reelection was directly tied to the success or failure of the US economy, and Republicans have stated their primary goal was to prevent Obama from winning the election, therefore, Republicans did not want the failure of the economy.

Since the reality is this is not Camelot, and only Congress has the power to coin money and set the value thereof and to set the goals of the Federal Reserve (which includes maximum employment as a goal), and the FED was responsible for the 50% DTI ratio for borrowers of 2007, and Congress did not have reasonable laws in place to prevent the mortgage crisis or have a lower DTI, therefore, Republicans in Congress were stupid.

Since Republicans will not admit a previous Republican congress was stupid, therefore, Republicans are stupid.

Since Republicans are stupid, and Republicans took back control of the House of Representatives, therefore, the American people are stupid.

Since the American people are stupid, and Democrats want Camelot, therefore, to prevent Camelot the economy cannot recover between now and the election.

Since to prevent Camelot the economy cannot recover between now and the election, and Democrats want Camelot, and the American people are stupid, therefore, the American people are preventing Camelot by shooting themselves in the foot (metaphorically speaking), by preventing the economy from recovering, so stupid Americans who want Camelot cannot get to the polls on election day and vote for the boy king.

Since the American people are preventing Camelot by preventing the economy from recovering, therefore, the American people do not want the economy to recover between now and the election.

In terms of Republican faults, I'm mainly talking about the actions of the Republican majority House of Representatives during the 112th Congress. I don't recall many, but there are some notable ones.

Once again, I have stated that Obama and the Democrats have had many faults while they had control. I'm not going to make a completely biased comment by denying what I have witnessed from the House of Representatives over the past few months.

    With my conservative hat on:
We all know that republicans want OBAMA to fail more than anything else. We will do anything at any cost to fail OBAMA. The economy is insignificant as it is just there to pay off the intrest that we like, and ideas of what we think is right. As long as the investment market is good, and OBAMA fails we have succeeded. For us conservatives, it is not a war on terrorism or a war on drugs or a war on liberal cats. It's a war on Obama, Those who can't see this are too blind to our real agenda. No matter what Obama does, we will fail him because we don't like him. That is the reason, We don't like him. Liberals will never understand that we conservatives can base our entire effort on hate and dislike of one man. But it's true, this is our Conservative way, and we will not allow one 1/2 black man to do anything in government. If he is not our token, he is not worth our cooperation.

    With my Liberal hat on:
As Liberals we will continue to suck up to th government employee unions for our support. After all, they will get us re-elected. We will cave into their demands because those unions have become so big and powerfull that they own us. Also, it sound real nice to say we support education and the little guy. We will continue to fool those simple minded followers who don't even know how screwed up the economy realy is. But we don't care, as long as we get re-elected. We don't care about the Massive State debt because that is not our problem. And we will do whatever we can for votes, Being that the government employee unions are the largest, they win our support and we will be owned by them.

I appreciate your joke of the day. If you are serious, I suggest you go back to high school....no middle school...no wait, I mean elementary school and retake an introductory economics class, because anybody knows that during recession, taxes must be lowered and spending must be partially increased (obviously nowhere near the level it is at right now) to stimulate the economy.

Or the other way around, which is decrease spending and cut taxes. This is a different approach when you consider the United States' opportunity costs.

You can decrease spending, I'm all for it. But lower taxes during recession is vital.

When you say we all know that republicans want Obama to fail more than anything else. I know it and you know it but I'll bet you will have a hard time getting any of these conservatives on this forum to agree that republicans are doing there best to see that unemployment stays high and the economy stays bad until after the elections in 2012. How about it people? are we all in agreement here?

the flaw is that obama has continued everything that Bush got started and has expanded upon it.

While I agree with Keynes economics, I don't think it was an elementary school class.

Policies done by Obama are not in the equation, so they cannot be a flaw in the equation.

They'll never agree to it now. Since it would be detrimental to them to be viewed as against improving the economy. But they already came out after 2010 saying that their main goal was to make Obama a one term president.

I pretty much remember that the economy is failing. If it isn't, why are people complaining over nothing.

How about a Conservative actually speak, instead of a hat?

Conservatives know a couple things about Obama:

    1) He's not a Conservative, nor anything close. He is anathema to Conservatism.

    2) As such, policies he pursues are considered by Conservatives to be extremely damaging to US society.

    3) Conservatives believe that these policies will fail. By extension, it means that Obama himself will fail.

    4) Conservatives, therefore, do not want Obama to fail, we are warning that he WILL fail. Should Obama adopt Conservative policies, we would want and expect him to succeed.

What's so hard about this? It's a logical conclusion to draw; liberals simply want to make this personal because they actually believe that Obama's policies are the proper direction for this country, even though all measurable metrics indicate that the opposite is true.

You should fight your own internal battles before attempting to bring them to others, and make them about Conservatives.

His policies have failed. Under Obama the economy stays down and unemployment continues to grow. Yet his jobs bill is more of the same failed policies

No doubt. And...the response of the left:

[krugman]WE NEED MORE OF WHAT WE'VE DONE! IT ISN'T THAT THE POLICIES ARE INCORRECT, IT'S THAT WE SIMPLY DIDN'T DO ENOUGH OF IT!![/krugman]

Failed policies? Are you talking of the 8 years of George Bush? Took ofice with a budget surplus. John McCain had to put his campaign on hold, so he could return to Washington and deal with an economy that was on the verge of collapse. Are these the failed policies that you speak of? Or are these the polocies that you think we should return to. The Republicans have done everything in their power to block any attempt to improve our economy in the belief that a bad economy will improve their chances of winning back the White House.

Even leftists are now admitting that Obama is to blame for this economy. It will be amusing to see how you will possibly contort reality to deflect blame from Obama for a double-dip.

Read your emails. You're falling behind on your talking points.

It's AMAZING the blinders that you people have. The first 2 years that Obama was in office, he had FULL CONTROL over both houses and could pass literally ANYTHING that he wanted.

If he REALLY wanted tax hikes, he could have done it from DAY ONE.
If he REALLY wanted to end the wars, he could have done it from DAY ONE.
If he REALLY wanted Cap and Tax, he could have done it from DAY ONE.
If he REALLY wanted to close GitMo, he could have done it from DAY ONE.

What he DID do was in 3 short years expand the Deficit and Debt in this country by MORE than Bush did in EIGHT years and two terms.

What he DID do was get us involve in yet ANOTHER war.

What he DID do was practically everything he could to destroy the U.S. Economy. Why? Because he's for ONE WORLD Government and the only way to get that done, is by destroying the U.S. as the world dominant power.

Lucky for him he has PLENTY Of Dunces willing to look the other way, ready to deny facts and take his every word as Gospel.

You really don't unerstand how gov't works or you wouldn't make such silly remarks. Double dip first, According to economist, the stock market drop of the last two days, which has occured here, in Europe, and in Asia, which has lead to this talk of a double dip recession, is due to the downgrade of the ratings of Greek banks, leading to speculatin that they may default . Lets blame Oboma for that. As far as leftist blaming Oboma for this economy, I guess if you watch Fox News, I can understand that statement. For the real answer there, we are going to haveto wait for the election in 2012. The American people will determine who is to blame. I am a betting man. I would put my money on Oboma as it stands right now. With Rick Perry's stand on Social Security, I think Oboma will have the seniors, the blacks, the latinos, that right there is enough to win. Now lets see, Who has Perry got in his camp? the Tea party? OK, he is at 20% The blacks cancell that out. I'll bet Oboma is shaking in his boots. And finally, The president cannot spend any tax dollars. Congress must appropiate all funds to be spent. So, we should blame congress, but I know, we don't

You need to take your blinders off pal, to say he had full controll for the first 2 years is crap. He faced a record number of fillibusters in his first 2 years where he needed 60 votes to get anything passed. When you factor in blue dog dems and independents neened to get to 60, he had trouble getting anything through. 3 years later look at how many appointments have yet to get through the senate. As far as the New World Order, where have you been, under a rock, this has been giong on under both parties. You act like Oboma invented it, dd you just wake up?
