There is not one example of a monopoly occurring without government priviledge ever in history. Monopolies are artificial government creations. History will back me up on this statement. The free market would not allow it.

Putting words in my mouth again. I never said that we would be better off without government.

He was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He cannot be trusted with monetary policy.

For one, being involved with that banking cartel in such a high position automatically means he is not trustworthy. Two, the Federal Reserve's monetary policy is a complete failure which has played a huge role in ruining the economy in this country. Cain is certainly in favor of that status quo.

Other than his foreign policy stance...He sounds like a hippie. That's enough for me.

What don't you like about his foreign policy? And the stereotypical hippie position is certainly not free market rhetoric, but quite the opposite, they (stereotypically) tend to be left leaning liberals when it comes to economic policy.

Being chairman gives him experience to know how the system works. So he can easily decide for himself when the Fed is doing something wrong or right.

And he also claimed that his Fed didn't do the same things that THE Fed did. That doesn't mean he is in favor of the status quo.

His economic policies are good. He just sounds like a hippie. It irritates me. And I don't like it...

He approved of using Stimulus/TARP but, didn't like the direction it went... So he is in favor of Keynesian Economic Policy. Which is the exact same failed Policies that the Federal Reserve adheres to. Do you want another Politician getting elected and is in favor of using Tax Payer money to freely give it to Corporations/Projects that have failed, make no sense or are insolvent?

You don't need to be chairman to know how the Federal Reserve System works. Ron Paul's analysis of the Federal Reserve System is 100% correct. The problem is that the Federal Reserve is always doing something wrong because it's stated objectives are not equivalent to its true objectives - because it is a banking cartel acting against the public interest. Its policies will always destabilize the economy no matter what (and they have).

It's automatically implied that the regional Federal Reserve banks aren't able to what they want to do because the Board of Governors has absolute veto power over all regional banks. So the term "system" in "Federal Reserve System" is just smoke and mirrors. It's a trick that the framers of the Fed came up with to trick people into thinking that it was a decentralized system, not a "central bank" like the Europeans had.

Cain supported TARP and bailing out banks and Wall Street. He has not said anything to indicate he would reverse that trend. He would never even touch the Federal Reserve System and would most likely favor continuing the Keynesian economic policies that he supported as Chairman. He cannot be trusted. He is bought and paid for. We know where his loyalty lies, and it's not with the American people.

On the other hand, there is no rational reason to distrust Paul.

Noo...But I don't completely and necessarily believe he was in favor of the Stimulus either.

TARP is Stimulus... It's direct Pumping of Government Funding into the Private Sector to "get the Marketplace working again".

So do you pick the candidate you're going to vote for based on emotion and not logic?

I would put my faith in Cain than most of the others running. I'll naturally trust anyone who isn't a career politician.

I'd probably put more of my faith in Ron Paul if his foreign policy wasn't so darn crazy and if he wasn't so hippie-like. I really don't know if I can trust anyone.

Like it or not, people are often elected on being relate-able and likability. If I have too really good candidates who I think would be good as President if it all came down to the wire it wouldn't be whos the most conservative. It would come down to who I liked more.

Maybe you aren't aware of the history of the Federal Reserve System. Otherwise you would trust international bankers (and anybody working for that cartel) much less than you would trust politicians.

Ending wars that we can't afford, stopping foreign aid that we can't afford, bringing troops home, peace and commerce with all nations...how is that crazy? I think our current foreign policy is what's crazy.

In your view being imperialist involves invading countries for political dominance. I see imperialism as establishing an authoritarian control over another culture and way of life.

I have no problem with all of that. Except we tend to have enemies who are willing to attack us at all cost.

Chile, Iran, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Brazil, Bolivia, Liberia, Grenade, Chad, South Korea, Greece... the list goes on. Most of the coups established a Military Dictator in power that was PRO-USA and under that Government killed hundreds or thousands of Civilians.

You don't see a Authoritarian control over another culture and way of life when an entire Democracy is removed while a Tyranny is imposed?
