People use racism and the civil rights like a bat they hit people with until they agree with their interpetation of the law.

It needs to be redefined. Maybe racism exists in some states still, but in my state, the only racism that occurs is the special treatment given to those who are minorites and woman. Some people think racism only can be acted on using negetive means but using positive means is still racism too.

The simple response, all Ron Paul has to do is go to any major city and get video of Hispanics living under bridges, or blacks in an unemployment line and ask, "What has the Civil Rights Act and the Equal Work for Equal Pay act done for you lately?"

Obama got himself elected with 46% of the white vote. Give that to McCain, and he's the president. I guess you haven't noticed; all that Goldman Sachs money, the billion dollars Obama is on pace to raise before election '12, is making all those black folks in the unemployment line feel like he's not one of them like they had thought. The minorities are jaded.

I believe in many of Ron Paul's idea. But that alone does not make him a good president. We need someone to get the bills passed. Most libertarian positions make good policies but there is no benefits to the country if the congress keeps in deadlock.

My best bets are the two moderate mormons, who have a chance to get the country working again with incentives based policies and market orientated approach.

I personally do not like Conservative fundamentalists who are occupying the GOP debates. They are driving alot of intellectuals and technocrats away from the Repulican party. Supporting them against Obama is like supporting Taliban against Soviet Union, a real tough choice with unforeseeable future risk.

One of the few things a president has control over is spending in the military. The rest is more up to congress more than anything. So if you really care about a president who CAN and WILL cut spending and bring the troupes home, you would vote Ron Paul. Obama only just proved that he is incapable or unwilling to stop the wars.

It is impossible for a true libertarian to be a racist because libertarians believe in individual freedom, regardless of gender or race. That is where the discussion about the Civil Rights Act comes from, libertarians believe that freedom shouldn't be granted to groups of people defined by any terms (race, gender, religion, nationality), but to the individual (despite all terms).

As he explained in the video, if you watched it through.

Got it. You just can't stop staring at the spinning circle. You want to discuss why you think your guy is right about everything and why in your opinion, he should be elected.
I'm just pointing out why he won't be.

    1. While you and the Libertarians United argue on behalf of the Magical Market, history proves you wrong. You Reolath etc... keep asking for examples and I keep providing them. Then you want MORE examples or specific examples of how the Magical Market hasn't elimintated those bad ol' companies who do bad things. Want an example of a company that has produced harmful or fatal products and is still thriving? The Fortune 500.
    2. Right now, Paul is running in 5th or 6th place. You guys celebrate and call it a victory when he moves all the way up to 3rd. Which is still two places out of getting the nomination.
    3. I just pointed out ONE view that I disagree with him on, and which will stop him from being elected. There are LOTS of them. Like most people on this board, I am probably more politically informed and informed than the average American.
You're hoping for some sort of heightened intellectual understanding and deep analysis from hundred of millions of people, who usually vote based on one of two things: a) How their parents voted or
    b) 30 second soundbites.
    Good luck with that.

We're basing "why he should be elected" on tangible facts. You're basing "why he won't be elected" on your opinions, it is impossible to prove until it happens, so the debate is mute. "Unelectable" is an opinion he has proven wrong 11 times.

Mainly due to the fact that Libertarians don't see Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Whites etc etc as a different race. I see it as a different "Breed" with their own culture and skin color (Most of time) than the pretty much settles it...

I better point of view is to simply see it in Dog Terms... There are tons of different Breeds with their own colors and what yet, they're all part of the Canine Family or ust simply call them Dogs. So in that sense we're all part of the same Race the Human Race.

Your examples are due in large part because of Government and Corporations working together. True "Capitalism" has never been established because of the Need of some people to get the Government involved with the Marketplace. Keep tossing out examples... most of them are just due to corruption between Government and Businesses. I really don't see how being a Partner and making millions is any of your business if they're not doing anything illegal or immoral.

An ideologic victory and a Presidental Victory are both victories... Having people realize the Government isn't your friend and it's the sole reason the problems the USA faces today are so extreme is a victory in my "Libertarian Book".

Nah just hoping people finally wake up one after another and come out of their passive state towards Government. If he gets the nomination and wins the Presidency it would indeed be glorious in my opinion but, who is to know the future? We both have our own opinions on the matter lets not base everything on Emotions or hypotheticals to win arguments.

No I'm basing why he won't be elected based on facts and figures. You're basing why he should on things you like and think are just peachy.

Here's the RCP Combination of all Polls since a year ago.

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep.../republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html

Notice how your boy stays almost exactly the same the entire time? What's that tell you? The same people who would consider voting for him a year ago, are the only ones who would consider doing so now. No one else but the Faithful Few. He can't get over 10% with the GOP and he'd get slaughtered in a presidential race.

I would point out that as i've said in previous posts, I have 100% respect for the view of those like Reolath when it comes to an ideological victory. To sending a message. THAT I'm behind completely. I'm just not in denial about his chances.

It's just a matter of pointing out that you worshipers of government and advocates of totalitarianism haven't been able to ever get it right and that the naive hope that the next popularity contest winner will fix everything has worn thin.

The biggest polluter isn't PG&E, despite it being one of the most heavily regulated businesses in the US, but the organization you drool over and wish would run everything, even wiping your bum for you: the US government.

AH the rantings of the kool-aid drinkers who label and project on anyone disagreeing with them.
Yeah. PG&E. They're not THE BIGGEST polluter so they're just great and need no regulation at all! The Magic Market Unicorns will keep them from causing cancer in children and adults in SoCal! Oops. Danm unicorns are so unreliable!
Projecting the government thing on me eh?

I'm sorry, but you own a business and are a "job creator"? I am.
How long have you been in the tax bracket that would pay a couple extra points, if the Dems got their way? I've been there for years.
How many people do you currently employ?I have some and we're growing right now. Guess what? We just hired someone even though the All-Powerful guy you say overrides those little factors like Supply-Demand, still exist in the universe. Go figure.
Tell ya what junior. Rant all you want. Those of us grown-ups who are real, enjoy the entertainment...

Well, when they're hypnotized to the point, they believe big companies would never do anything bad, the tone is bound to come across that way.

I see, you weren't labeling and projecting?

PG&E is a quasi-government organization and largely protected from liability by the organization you deify.

As for cancer in adults and children, your masters in Washington have spread it worldwide with such wonders as depleted uranium as part of the campaign to spread the virtues of mobocracy.

Why not. You are projecting ridiculous things on libertarians. If it's going to make you whine and whinge, don't dish it out.

Yes. Several businesses in fact. Three software companies (2 are partnerships), one IT management firm, and a marketing agency. I am starting a new software firm this year and next year will ramp up a new marketing agency.

    17 years.

You mean, people aspire to create wealth despite every effort to interfere and direct from above? Well, I guess that makes totalitarianism a-ok!

The quickest sign of extremists: Anyone disagreeing with them in any way, MUST be the opposite extreme. You for example, project anyone who doesn't believe that The Magic Market will be sufficient to eliminate wrong-doings by corporations, as somehow wanting "totalitarianism". What a bunch of bs.
There are people who diagree with you, that aren't as extreme as you are in the opposite direction.

You know what? I just saw Ron Paul going against his own party and KILLING his chances for the nomination on tv - because he stands by his conviction that we don't belong in Iraq.
I HAVE to admire that. It's so unusual in politics.
I apologize for any insults. We have radically differing beliefs but so what? I like your guy. I won't vote for him but I like him. Maybe that's enough.

How many elections did Gandhi win ?

Maybe the same as Paul promising that everything will be better based upon FAITH in Him ?

or The Texas shrimp he lobbied so hard for..along with all his earmarks that helped him win elections...just like Murtha did.

    Gandhi..No..?

    Murtha... ya.. Murtha like.

Poking at him for having the decision between two choices and he chose the better one out of the deals?

Either allow the money to be used for other States or be used on the Federal Level to spend to whatever they wish on it (Black Hole) or put in his own State to acquire the funds. It's pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) logical when there is no Morality/Law in Congress to simply try to be as best as possible with the choices you have... atleast he actually goes out of his way to vote against it.

Edit: Wasn't it Romney who believed Economic Stimulus (Centralized Planning/Keynesian Philosophy) should be used? I believe it was. You can take your maul all day at Ron Paul and you'll still not break his Walls... On the other hand Romney is made out of Glass and his own record when looked at shatters what he saying today or tomorrow!

Yep..pretty logical to be for term limits then be in congress for how many years..glass walls ? :)
One Paul supporter mentions he must be doing something right to be re elected so many times..earmarks are the reason..not his brilliant job creation..Tax politics or No votes on any Bush war on terrorist deals.

You know the same ones Obama are allowing to continue..Getmo..drones..kill em anywhere and every where.
A huge flip flop proving you can flip to the better. :)

Or be anti- war..high on pot..and dead.
Broken glass homes have no constitution..They look like China..Iran..Libya and I would rather terrorist be dead..than follow someone who wont say when and where he would EVER commit troops..
    Iran is no threat ?
Terrorist have no long range missiles..cant reach here..??:puke:

Didn't Ron Paul vote in favor of keeping Lobbyists and PAC contributions secret. YOu know, that good ol' behind closed doors politics we've all grown to love?

Yeah it's one thing to push for Term Limits... Then proceed to leave and nothing has changed. Really intelligent...

Really? So you have people know it's just his Earmark dealings that truly gains all of the support. You're still truly a Moron.

How is it better? I didn't know torture and murder were considered the goods things to follow... Have you killed anyone today?

"Blah blah blah Pothead Blah Blah" Clearly you hate any form of Drugs other than the ones you're currently being supplied and ones the Government approves. What did China come from? A Monarchy... What did Iraq come from? A Monarchy. Libya? Monarchy. Did the Revolutions in those countries propose power to the people? Or power to Select Groups? I'm pretty sure it was just the New Boss same as the Old Boss types of Revolutions.

How is Iran a threat? How do you plan on defeating Iran? I know for a fact that any American Invasion into Iran would cause the greatest Bloodbath in History for the USA in terms of foreign engagements if we decide to stay there.
