Nobody should put down their own country and leadership for another no matter what it's about. It has nothing to do with being smart or stupid. There is reason enough to recognise that the West has been underestimating Putin's "evil genius" .
The character of such has been the subject of both religious text and cultural literature for thousands of years. ie genesis, and various characters in great English literature such as Paradise Lost.
There has always been recognition that true evil is the clever perversion of the truth coupled with the ability to sell it. (Apply that to any political leader of your choice.)
I don't know whether trump just recognises clever evil, or approves of it.
What is true IMO is that the West has been fooled by Putin because it both believed him and needed to believe him. (Oil and gas).
The West thought any person would appreciate our values instead of those practised by putin. We forgot that Putin wasn't representing OUR values to the Russians , now clear in the misinformation told to them about the righteousness of this war.
The West must wise up. The real world is not a nice place.

Treasonous Trump CAN spot "smarts" in someone else. He is extremely insecure so anybody that he bashes is smarter than him.

That's why I say he's a horrible leader. Real leaders aren't threatened by dissenting opinions or even constructive criticism. We surround ourselves with people with different skills knowing it's important NOT to live in an echo chamber.

I know why they do- one of my best achievements in life has been the study of what motivates and controls people, how they think. I've taught it extensively. Clinical psychologists have come to my classes to learn it- and corporations too, such as Boeing, which sent over a hundred management people to my classes. People aren't hard to read- but most are buried under so much BS, they can't think effectively. They can't hear or see solutions unless they fit neatly into what they already believe, which is what keeps them where they are- stuck- but very sure they know it all even though they can't make life work. I've worked on a solution to the problems of honorable government for almost 15 years as part of a private think tank, and that solution, unlike anything ever suggested before, will be made public this summer. You seem to be light years behind the curve you think I should "consider".

The largest obstacle we have had to find ways to overcome- is not the cause and cure of bad government, but the people whose thinking is contained in a box- a box that they occupy by choice and has no windows that can see anything except what they believe. And they do dismiss what does not fit, and they do indeed hate any effort to change what they think.There is nothing that can be done for them until they are ready- but in the meantime when there main objective seems to be punishing the rest of society because they are lost and miserable, they make the world a worse place to live. THEY create the opportunity for corruption and hate to thrive.... the very same people who squeak the loudest, but do the least. Extreme myopia- can't see beyond their own nose, even though they talk like they cared. Talk is all it is, they do nothing.
