The sexual abuser mewled that abortion policy should be dictated by states, then attacked a state for dictating abortion policy as his activist Supreme Court had licensed.

I doubt she will be the last too, not sure if it is enough to push Biden past Trump at this point, but Biden will definitely get more votes because of it.

No he said he supports abortion rights for rape/incest and the health of the mother. but to leave it up to the states as it should be. like capital punishment. This is a moral issue. But progressives seem confused at this.

Essentially a more moderate/central position on the issue which is a bridge between the two sides.

They don't want to talk about the realpolitik of the issue but rather shock and scare their followers by making them think there are women out there trying to abort their fetus after birth -- like how can anyone take such BS arguments seriously?

This has nothing to do with the presidential election. it's up to the states to decide and the people of Arizona have decided. Biden can't do anything about it yet I'm sure Democrats will try to tell people Biden can change the law in congress and make it legal in every state. He can't because the votes will never be there. Any Democrat who tells Americans if Trump is elected he will make abortion illegal nationwide is lying. Trump wants the states to decide not the federal government which is why he enabled the overturning of Roe-v-Wade and took the decision away from the government.

Trump put the decision squarely on the shoulders of the people where it belongs. Trump endorses democracy.

I just found where he said that. Have to give him credit where it is due. Seems he is listening to his advisors because this is a smart move in his part.

That’s the thing though. Surely you agree that some things should it be left to democracy, right? Should I be able to vote away your right to own a gun or have sex before marriage? No. The question is where do you draw the line.

Obviously the founders drew the line with some basic protections. Though even those didn’t go far enough, as evident by the fact that we had slavery for the first 80ish years of our republic. The question is what other basic right should be guaranteed and not subject to the whims of voters.

You're way off on just about everything here. I'll start at the beginning.

If Christians have "a problem with Donald Trump" then please explain their overwhelming support of such an amoral man.

It matters not that the cancelation of Roe has turned the issue over to the states. The idiotic bans being voted in by Republican-led state legislatures are visible to all of us. We see what the right is trying to do, we know their agenda, and many will be voted out.

It isn't just those you oddly refer to as neocons. No one is fooled. MAGA is just as culpable, perhaps even more. It has already resulted in more women registering to vote, especially women of childbearing age.

I'm not a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. I used to vote for some conservative candidates, but since the GOP saddled us with Trump antubecame a cult of personality, they have lost my vote forever.

Calling me full of **** was rude. I've been civil with you.

Where did I make any claim about Trump's position on abortion? Even Trump can't decide his position. And I've never called him Hitler. Adolf was a nasty piece of work, and Trump did quote him at rallies for several weeks until that got him some backlash, but Donald Trump is a mental midget in comparison.

The federal election could have a very profound effect on abortion. If the Democrats gain the House, Senate, and retain the White House, a woman's right to choose may well get codified into federal law, as it should have been decades ago.

If you bother to reply, please do so politely, thanks.

Trump is flip-flopping on the abortion issue just as desperately as other Republican candidates for every office from the Oval on down the ballot. They know damned well that this issue and their draconian state bans are losing them votes. I can smell the fear.

All Christians funny think alike. Some Christians take issue with his stance on abortion.
or the people of those States like those leaders and will keep them in.
    All women didn't think alike.
I doubt they ever had it.
You're right about that you have been nothing but civil and I apologize.
I made the claim about Trump's position. He's not pro life. So there is that.
Shouldn't need a federal election. Legislation could be made even if there are Republicans. I'm not sure the house will turn. We are on year four of a Democrat, a rather polarizing one. That might mean a Senate turn.
I will and I'll do my best to be polite in my responses to you in the future.

I don't think what Trump will do if he were gat back into the White House. Banning abortion isn't such a good idea at all. It should be up to the voters and the Majority rules. That's all I'm going to say on the matter for now.

The majority of the voters will decide what will be best. That's all.

Isn't it sad that we live in an America where people have unequal rights depending on where they live? What state state they live in? At least that's better than everyone having the lowest standard of rights and freedoms available. But it's still sad.

I agree. A president alone can’t make federal laws and congress will not vote to make a law making abortion legal or not.

Gun ownership is a constitutionally protected right, abortion is not. Many people see abortion as murder. Most of the pro life crowd also appose capital punishment as I do.

Of course. Besides, when or if she bears a child is a fundamental right for women that shouldn't have a price tag.

They have an elected legislature, if AZ wants a different law they should pass it.

No, you seem to have misunderstood. I said that a fetus is not a person yet. I never said it wasn't alive.

    Exactly.

The Free People of AZ have an elected legislature. If they don't like the law that was passed prior to Statehood, while AZ was still a US Territory, 49 years before statehood, then the legislature should get off their duffs and pass legislature that conforms with the wishes of the People of AZ, or just repeal the 164 year old law and let The People of AZ do as they wish.
