What to continue? You mean, how to fight American corruption? The first step is rockets in Cuba. Recently, the Cuban leader and Putin have agreed on this. Actual topic. Especially in light of the fact that the US wants to withdraw from the treaty on the limitation of short-range and medium-range missiles.

That sounds like just the sort of thing the most peaceful country on Earth would do.

Naturally. Only thanks to Russia's powerful weapons and inevitable retaliation for any aggressor, we still have peace on the planet.

Interesting! Let us hope for the worse for Russia and Russian armed services but let us not relax our commitment to building our military and keeping them modern, effective and efficient on earth and soon into space.

Alaska was leased. There are no documents to refute this. Consequently, sooner or later (rather sooner) Alaska will become part of Russia. Especially considering it’s there will be a big war soon, and after the war Russia always increases its territory. For example, after the last big war, the Kaliningrad region, western Ukraine, the Kuril Islands and many other territories became part of the USSR. Look at the map. The largest country in the world is Russia.

The only credible threat the Russians have is nuclear. Their conventional equipment for the most part is old, poorly maintained, worn out, junk. They are not capable of keeping pace with NATO upgrades due to their poor economy. NATO countries are outspending Russia by 10 to 1 on defense. In addition, Russia severely lags the West in technology and technology development. They are in a position where the best they can do is talk the good fight, because they certainly are not capable of fighting it.

PBS managed to sell some books, expose us to their view of climate, the crash of the airliner in Indonesia yet totally missed this important event. Factually it was here I learned of this accident.

Wait, who tells you that our ships when at sea break on the first voyage?

As to Russia and aircraft carriers, is that one to keep a peace, impose a peace or be part of war?

Amusing propaganda article. Too bad it doesn't contain any truth.

You seem awful hung up on my avatar. I know women without mustaches are rare in Russia. I guess your women like your military are a little sub par.

It seems to me that Russia has had all the treasure, weapons and military forces it has needed to pick off its neighbors' territory and/or bully them into submission. This isn't a matter of whether or not Russia wants to park its tanks in the Alexanderplatz and Place de la République or reduce America to radioactive rubble, it's a question is how far is Putin & Co. willing to push the revanchist envelope beyond Georgia and Ukraine. There's also the question of where Russia might create trouble for the U.S. and its allies elsewhere throughout the world.

Personally, I'm neither willing to set my hair on fire over this or dismiss the fact that Russia has and can pose a threat to its neighbors and our interests.

As far as pushing the revanchist envelope is concerned, I think Putin has accomplished the objective that prompted him to invade both Georgia and Ukraine - securing a naval base for the Black Sea Fleet. All that remains at this point is to seize a land bridge to Sevastopol in eastern Ukraine. Despite the foolish talk in some circles in Moscow about the legality of the secession of the Baltic States, I honestly don't see Putin invading any of those countries, Poland or any other territory beyond Russia's western frontier.

As far as interfering or competing with U.S. interests abroad, that's something to be expected so I don't lose any sleep at night over that. In fact, unlike my Leftist compatriots who are blaming Russia for their failures and shortcomings, I'd like to see relations between our two countries improve. One of my greatest disappointments in the post-Cold War era was how the Clinton administration utterly failed to take advantage of the opportunity to establish better relations with Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Now that Putin is in power that ship has sailed, but it would be nice to see an improvement on that front.

Again, I'm not worried about Russia trying to conquer Western Europe and I don't know anyone who is. Of course, the Pentagon has to prepare for that scenario, but that's just part of its job - being prepared for any scenario and potential threat.

So according to you Alaska is "leased".....but no documents to prove....only your "word" says so!:))

And Alaska will be returned to Russia by means of land war?

So Muscovites will land troops&hardware on Alaskan territory to retake it??

Sure they will.....just like they tried to capture US base in Syria in February and were slaughtered....let alone Alaska which has nukes, submarine bases(Shemya Aleutian islands), attack helos at western edges, etc.

Konigsberg is German territory....western Ukraine never was russian, as in Eastern ukraineU but stalins holodomor starved them out:))), Kuril islands are Jap territory, as is Siberia(chinese territory), Russia is a hodgepodge of stolen lands you understand.

It's like a fake creation....much like former CCCP.
