He should have kept his mouth shut until the numbers are there for his threats to have real meaning . Putin will cleanse them but then run the risk of finding Muslim extremists active in Russia and making the north Caucasus position seem like a pin prick .
But better to act now , even though I loathe Putin for other reasons , and at least hold off the inevitable for another generation .
The irony is that Russia is desperate for a larger population and an increased fertility rate . Otherwise Russia itself will die - literally .

Russia is and always has been the most populous state of Europe. Today it numbers in ~130 million.

Apart from this, the muslims can flood Moscow and St. Petersburg all they want, the soul of a nation is in its land and that means the villagers. Muslims have not taken over any village anywhere, not even in western Europe.

The number for your population total is irrelevant . Most experts actually give the figure at 140 million and that is the official Russian figure . There is some evidence that this Official figure -- like all Russian statistics--- has been fabricated , and the true figure is much closer to 100 million .
But that is a topic for another day, and , as already said , quite irrelevant to this discussion .
The only point to be looked at is , new births per household , or the Fertility Rate as it is popularly called .
Russia is sinking steadily , and irrevocably , if something radical remains unavailable .
There is absolutely no argument over this , and is about the only thing that Putin and I jointly believe .
There has been talk for a long time about getting Indian Hindus into Russia by the millions in order to increase the FR but also to develop Agriculture .
However , unless action is taken immediately you will be invaded by Muslims and this introduces a whole new set of variables which Western Europe is presently trying to fully realise .
