PUTIN's TV PROPAGANDA SCAM CAPTURED ON FILM

When a camera crew from Russian television station NTV barged into the Moscow offices of Golos, an election monitoring organization, this week, the questions were barbed and predictable .
"Who is financing you? "Why is the US sending you money? Why are you trying to wreck the election process?", a reporter shouted.

In the run-up to Sunday's parliamentary elections, "the state's media machine has gone into overdrive to paint independent political organizations and opposition parties as foreign-funded tools of western intelligence services", says in the article.

But the Golos staff quickly turned the tables. Grigory Melkonyants, deputy director, began filming the provocateurs on his mobile phone. And over the past three days, the interview of the interviewers has become a sensation on the Russian internet.

To every aggressive question from the increasingly frustrated NTV correspondent, Melkonyants calmly replied: "You are Surkov's propaganda" - a reference to Vladislav Surkov, the Kremlin's deputy chief of staff and head of the state's fearsome propaganda machine. Melkonyants repeated this phrase 86 times in the six-minute video.

Melkonyants said Golos had already given several interviews to NTV - which is owned and controlled by the state via the media arm of energy giant Gazprom - but still they sent a crew over in an attempt to ambush them.

"They needed a scandal, and this is what they got," he said "I doubt many people will even watch the programme they are doing about us, but everyone has already seen this video".

There are few better illustrations of the collision between internet, still largely uncensored in Russia, and state-controlled television in the run-up to Sunday's elections. "And for the first time, it seems the internet is edging out a narrow victory in the battle for the hearts and minds of Russians", says in the article.

"These will be the last elections which are controlled by television," said Alexei Venediktov, director of Moscow radio station Ekho Moskvy, who is also owned by Gazprom.

The rise in internet use has accompanied a steady decline in the popularity of the ruling party United Russia, and a fall in audiences for television news. Analysts say this is partly because state-run television has been so controlled under Putin that it long ago lost any appeal to younger, affluent viewers.

The Kremlin has made no attempt to censor the internet in the manner of neighboring China, meaning bloggers are free to post what they want. "The toothpaste is already out of the tube".

(In fact, the FSB Gangster regime is doing everything possible to block the Internet, and continuously expands its inquisitorial List of Extremist Literature which also includes the most irritating websites for the Kremlin. The problem is that it is technically almost impossible to block completely the access to the banned sites ).

Last month Russia overtook Germany as the country with the largest number of internet users in Europe, according to ComScore, a UK-based internet rating service. Russians are also rated as the world's third most intensive users of social networking sites, which often transmit political content.

For example, social networking sites drove traffic to clips of Putin being jeered by fans at a martial arts match in Moscow last week. A video clip on YouTube, just one of several, has been viewed 3.3m times.

"In further bad news for state TV, many censored television shows have been given a second life as viral internet hits, often enjoying better play on the web than they would have had on television", writes the author, referring to the story of abductions in Chechnya on NTV and the fragments of talk-show "Unreal Politics", in which an interview with the head of a Nashi group has been discussed in an expensive restaurant.

It is unimportant whether you vote or not, the next Russian President will be Putin because Russia has not free elections.

"United Russia" will retain a majority in the Duma on the results of the December elections, despite a downgrade, said at a press conference on Friday, Deputy Director, "Levada Center" Alexei Grazhdankin.

He noted that from the November survey center 7-percent barrier in the State Duma will overcome the four parties: the "United Russia", Communist Party, LDPR and "Fair Russia".

"The distribution is as follows:" United Russia "- 53%, the Communist Party - 20%, LDPR - 12%," Fair Russia "- 9%. The other parties - certainly less then 5%," - told reporters Grazhdankin .

He noted that the Parliament thus "United Russia" will have 253 seats, the Communists - 94 seats, the Liberal Democrats - 59, SR - 44 seats. "United Russia" loses in comparison with the past elections of 60 seats, "- said Grazhdankin."

Yes , I was certain that Kay the Bee Gee would be reduced to silence .

And Ostap , I think we all are agreed on the literal result . Even my cat , Lord Benny , put on his black armband earlier .That is hardly the point , because nobody expects the house to collapse .
What is far more interesting are the cracks that are appearing on all the walls that tell us the collapse is not too far away .

This point has been covered in depth already.
Some places like the UK are around 99% corruption free and others like Gambia are 0% .
Russia' record is appalling and this evening already 5000 infractions have been reported by International Observers .And that is before the polling booths are open .
Whatever the announced result , the one thing you can guarantee about the Russian election tomorrow is that it is riddled with fraud and cheating .

I'll go vote for "the party of crooks and thieves", and in fact did not intend to, but highly strained shameless propaganda against Putin in the network in all forums as the chain failed. And my mother retired, formerly the Communists voted, said yesterday that he would go for the "United Russia".

In general, I'm waiting for tomorrow to scream like that rigged elections, as the entire West in hysterics.

It seems our old people realize that enough is as good as a feast.

Of course they do , what else have they ever had?
Sad that you are such a coward .
But you are not alone in being scared of being beaten and much worse .
On the other hand , 3,3 million Russians were on the Internet and they screamed their dislike and worse at the Mafia Gang Master .
Expect much tighter Internet censorship and controls immediately .
Gazprom HQ were very worried this last week -- not of losing . Just the downward fall .

You are carrying that kind of nonsense.
I do not need so-called "Western democracy" with its hypocrisy.
Russia needs order and economic recovery, to confront the West.

The Russian people have at last spoken.
They were understandably frightened and the FSB did everything to create fear and violence.
<<< MODERATOR EDIT: INSULT REMOVED >>>
Putin is a dumb arse so he will further upset the Russian people . They will rebel and hopefully take him as a War Criminal and Gangster against Humanity .

P.S. Has it never occurred to you that your greatness is roughly on a par with Italy .
You are not taken very seriously in the real corridors of power .

Russia has no ground force Army of any consequence . Russia knows this and has publicly stated .
Your Navy rushes around between Sevastopol and now Syria and doesn't really know what it is doing and your planes fall regularly out of the sky -- even though amazingly it is always down to Pilot Error .
Let's suppose you fired off a few missiles and by sheer good luck they put you in charge ?
    Then what?
You cannot afford to even invade--- look at the mess you made of Georgia which has a population of around 4 million .
Privately the West knows Putin is a buffoon .We just give him a long rope until he strangles himself .
Did you see the video of the midget playing Ice hockey ?

Then why doesn't the West invade Transnistria and solve that problem once and for all?
