Samson: What Mark Cuban is saying by not wanting to play the national anthem before games

Of course the NBA fired back putting in place this policy:

I suppose Mark just wants to ensure his revenue stream on China, and not playing the national anthem is supposed to ingratiate him with the Chinese. Oh, and his team is in Texas. Folks are already suggesting that if the arena doesn't play the anthem that all of the spectators will. Should be an interesting battle. He's already thrown folks out of his games holding signs that say things like "Freedom for Hong Kong" or Free Hong Kong.

I used to think Mark was a smart guy. He certainly appears tone deaf here.

 

I think I read yesterday that he has now flip-flopped on this, and he will allow the anthem to be played.

Who really cares honestly? Are people that insecure that they need to be fed "patriotic" displays at sporting events?

 

No but they may need reassurance that the rest of the population cares about the country.

 

This is a literal non issue to me I doubt anyone stands while watching at home. Its more of same patriot checklist nonsense right wingers like to flaunt constantly. Remember the loud you chant USA and the bigger the flag the more "patriotic" you are!

^Thus, it is (OBVIOUSLY) an OPINION Thread, since it is clear that someone named "Samson" gave that Opinion.

Also, why would you use the excuse that you "edited the title for brevity", when it is clear that you've edited the title to just to editorialize it's meaning (and incorrectly post an Opinion thread in Current Events)?

For the record there was NO Need to "edit the title for brevity" (unless you clearly wanted to push a false narrative, based on an Opinion Article).

Let's see...

1) It is obviously an Opinion Article:

2) The NBA Stepped In (and has Mandated the Playing of the Anthem):

Now though the Mavericks will be mandated to play the anthem before all of its games.

^Problem solved.

Thus, it is Dead Issue and a Moot Point.
(And, the OPINION of a Podcast Guy (of Mark Cuban) is Irrelevant).

 

Of course the song doesn't represent them. Most are never out of bet early enough to see by the dawns early light!

Also the anthem is about sacrifice for country while this generation is more about their own personal gain without sacrifice.

 

He never had a choice, the league requires it and reminded him of that after he made his little display. If he then flip-flopped after that then its just his ego going into recovery mode.

 

The national anthem isn't about individuals.

The national anthem is going to change if dems have anything to say about it. And as evil as many of them (although not all) genuinely are, they are just as influential. If non white groups want the national anthem to change, and the MSM takes up that mantle, its going to happen.

Granted it can always be changed again, and most certainly will if it does change. But nonetheless, the alt left attacks everything not made in exactly the image they want it to be. And the alt left is basically the same as democrats these days.

No national anthem should play unless it's at an olympic event. Pro sport teams are private business and the players aren't representing their countries, they're playing for a paycheck. Beside, they alway hire people with no voice who scream at the top of their lungs totally removing any semblance of decorum the anthem deserves.
