I'm not speaking for FatBack. I don't know his position on black and brown people.

However, I've lost count how many bigots I've heard that said black and brown people aren't really humans at all. I think that's why they don't view their viewpoints as racist and it doesn't conflict with their religious views - for them, it's no different than dismissing a four-legged animal or insect.

 

That kind of racist holds blacks for apes.
A "woman" for them could only be a female member of the white master race.

 

And that is something that may very well be argued in front of SCOTUS, so it would be inappropriate for her to pre-judge an issue that hasn’t been argued.

I'm a former cop. I've had some co-workers say and do some awful things. I was there to take a black woman to the ER after a sexual assault and a nurse said "Why would anybody rape a black woman?" . Plenty of times we were demanded to slant reports against minorities even when it was clear they weren't at fault. A buddy of mine was a paramedic in the same area and he was fired for reporting that his colleagues were "slow walking" minorities to the ER (so they could suffer more and/or die on the way).

You wouldn't believe the things I've seen and heard done against other human beings. It gets compounded when people claim that racism and sexism doesn't exist. Anybody that doesn't see it is either the cause of it or chooses not to. It permeates ever facet of life in our country. Minorities don't even live in the same country. It still haunts me to this day.

 

She could have easily settled that by saying you are looking at one. An adult female of the human species.

She refused to define a woman during questioning. That's a fact. She's not a biologist. That is disrespectful to women. She is a woman and she cannot define her gender.

I am far from ignorant. I am far from a bigot. I am far from who you have judged me to be.

Ignorance is keeping racism at the front of the conversation. It is teaching black children and other minority children that they are less than and that is what we are still doing today. And then teaching them they have to rise up "against" the world, "against" the white man! We aren't teaching them values to be good human beings. We are teaching them to be spiteful and hateful. And no, I am not speaking about all people that are minorities. Heck, I am speaking more about the media and about Hollywood. Those with voices that too many listen to. The movements that want to spit on white people. The crimes in our large cities against white people, especially older white people. These actions can and very well may drive this country to a civil war. And then what?

Soon to be Justice Jackson is intelligent enough to answer the question about what is a woman. And honestly, she had to even know it was coming. The prep for confirmation hearings is brutal.

Is Caitlyn Jenner a woman? Is Lia Thomas a woman? I don't judge people for their decisions. That is not my place.

In the early 90s, I had a project team of maybe 10 people. My client was an older black woman who observed my team and she said to me, you are the United Nations of employer. I understood the hidden meaning behind what she was saying to me and just kept moving forward. Around that same time, I was at a dinner in Atlanta with multiple clients and I listened to an older white woman, of reasonably higher rank in position and who worked in Atlanta, question a much younger black woman, of lesser rank who worked in New York, on her role and position as if she was less than. And not just less than in her job, but because of the color of her skin. I watched that woman from New York, because to me she wasn't a black woman, she was a strong, extremely intelligent human being that stood her ground and "politely and honorably" put that bigoted white woman in her place. And all the way back then, the black woman was also a lesbian. I had that knowledge, but it was insignificant to me. Meaning simply, there was no judgment. She was an amazing woman and I expected to see her rise through the ranks and she did. And that old white woman is most likely gone and insignificant in the scheme of things.

That was my disappointment in Jackson. To dodge a question of that magnitude is cowardice when being a woman is the forefront of the conversation. The world is asking woman to stand up and be heard today and Ms. Jackson did not do that. That is where she failed for me.
