I have no desire to "imagine" what I have faith in.

You believe that because you believe, that will affect the outcome?

Just because you feel like you are separated from God doesn't mean that you are. I mean, do you feel completely dead inside with no hope of turn around, kind of like suffering the worst case of apathy you can imagine with no hope of it getting better ?

Now now, YOU may well be assured; but that is not the same thing.

As I recall, you are also "assured" that there really-really was a world wide flood.

This seems somehow significant to me.

I think common sense would imply that worry is not a part of "paradise." Maybe Blackrook should have taken the time to explain his position better but that doesn't mean he doesn't know it in his heart.

All we can respond to is his post.
Can all Christians read minds or is this your personal gift?

You said his faith is a complete fabrication but it is grounded in the Bible as I pointed out with the Revelation verse. Because of the way he worded it without giving Biblical support for it isn't relevant, you being an ex minister should know this.

Whether it is his fabrication, or someone else's what exactly is the difference?

I think so, yes.The state of mind that I described is one I personally experienced. None of us are going to be able to commit to what hell really is in the way Jesus was using it, we just know it isn't good.

Maybe none, but I didn't think that is what BB meant by it. Blackrook is a Christian so his beliefs are directly influenced by the Bible.

And what does the bible say, other than whatever one wants it to say?

    There is not "other than."

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Those are very good sayings other than the bit about loving something does not exist.

    The love of neighbour-
We see it in various renditions in probably every culture. Treat others as you'd want to be treated.

And yet the bible was used quite successfully to justify black slavery.

Sounds like a whole lot of "other than" to me.

You're right. I know a great deal about how people fabricate and protect their faith.

That's fine but you said that blackrook fabricated his faith and he didn't created that verse in Revelation that supports what he said.

So ? You asked, I answered. All of Jesus' teachings were great. If you want originality, look to his parables, they are central to his teachings.

Incorrect, you are just straying from your original quote. The Bible does not (as you say) - "say whatever we want it to say."
If you see someone 'cracking the whip', they aren't doing what their Bible tells them to.They aren't Biblical justified.

    Didn't have to be.
    He said "something" prevents them.
    He has no idea what.

The Pope said everyone can go to heaven. No belief is required. So even if a person ends up in hell he will think that he's in heaven since he never had any idea as to what constitutes heaven.
