This is good news for conservatism.

Imagine the sheer number of people that MSBNC is going to need to fire if she runs for President.

I don't get why cons are so concerned with MSNBC? NOBODY watches MSNBC! LOL

From Texas and currently have no problem with this idea. I'll wait to see what she does in the coming years before formally deciding if I think she's a good candidate or not. Any other generalizations you would like to make?

They're always bashing us in the worst ways possible and they still have a pretty significant amount of viewers... they aren't going out of business or anything, so it's pretty reasonable to be concerned about them.

And Fox is bashing the other side with a much larger viewership.

So I ask again, why do cons care about MSNBC? I believe cons are responsible for the only ratings MSNBC gets. LOL

so a single person in texas has no problem with this, talk about generalizations...as I said...a woman? black? gay? not a chance they'd even lose the texas vote...

So a half-term Governor of a State with a state population less than the entire city of Dallas, Texas....was "qualified" to be a 72 year old heartbeat away from the nuclear codes, in 2008?

So the "I Stand With Phil Robertson" Crowd would vote for a lesbian? The Birthers would vote for an African-American? And the ditto-heads who love Rush calling women "sl*ts" would vote for a woman?

I think I pretty much covered most of the GOP Base on those three, didn't I? :)

I'd love the GOP to push any of the four candidates that Smartmouthwoman posted

    1. Condi.....remind the public about Dubya's Wars and promise some new ones.

    2. Santorum....a radical theocrat who obsesses over homosexuality and thinks contraception is "dangerous".

    3. Rubio....who the GOP Base hate because he supports "amnesty"

    4. Christie....who the GOP Base hate even more than Rubio, because...Gasp!...he was NICE to Barack Obama once. :)

She's always been in the discussion but I doubt she'll actually run. It'd have to be a Fred Thompson style campaign where people campaign for him and he was a front runner before he even threw his hat in.

Which is really just two cycles away, so not any real distance. But I agree, the GOP is less likely to nominate a woman for President. It's just a fact of life that in the political sphere right now we have mostly men, and most of the qualified political candidates are men - the GOP still (at least tends to) focus on qualifications, whereas the Democrats focus on minority status and "firsts".

Do me a favor, huh? Tell every woman you know....that men are more qualified than women to hold political office.

And that you're a Republican-leaning voter as well.

    Thanks. :)

That "someone in the wings" could be Jeb. She might be loyal enough to to the Bush clan to do that.

It's too bad you're blind partisanship has led you to develop a reading deficiency - read the bold again. most of the qualified political candidates are men, it doesn't mean that men are any more innately qualified for anything. It simply means that when 80-90% of those with significant experience in politics are men, there will be more men who are qualified for a higher office then women. So do me a favor - tell everyone you know that you hate math and statistics and think they are sexist, and that you're a Democrat-leaning voter as well. kthanks.

    Whoa...

    A Bush/Rice ticket?

I had not thought of that. It's crazy enough to work actually. And if rumor is true Carl Rove has become active again.

Ooh, that will drive the ultra right crazy and the left off the deep end.

    I'll modify my request.

PLEASE go tell every woman you know that "most of the qualified candidates for high political office are men, not women."

    I'm sure they'll understand your "context". :)

Oh, and again, make sure they know which Party you usually vote with. That's key. Because I'm sure those women will want to know where a guy like you...feels more at home politically. :)

Yes, I'm sure Americans would rally behind a chance to see another 4000+ Gold Star Families over non-existant WMDs and a multi-trillion dollar war that "oil revenues were going to pay for".

What a relief this thread is not about Sarah Palin.
That is the horror story I fear. A real disservice to the nation and GOP by McCain to bring this trash into the public view.

Condi Rice ain't bad but, after the Obama experience I would not give extra credit to a candidate of color.

How About Rand Paul, M.D. and Condi Rice ticket. :blankstare:

Yeah thats the funny thing- the low ratings for MSNBC doesn't mean that there are no liberals- it just means liberals don't watch MSNBC.

I don't. Everytime I see someone proclaim how biased MSNBC is and how they get their real news from Fox my irony meter explodes.

The RNC would never allow the nomination of anyone with no elective experience as if she were another Eisenhower, and especially anyone who was complicit in the Bush's disastrous nation-building gambits, however manipulated by lowlifes Cheney and Rumsfeld.

They obviously don't want to go there. They hid the Bush in a witness protection programme during elections subsequent to his absconding. Disinterring him would be expected if his Secretary of State were running for the presidency.

I said from Texas, not in it. But that's not important. Besides you're the one making the claim that no one in Texas will vote for her. That's on you to prove now. Or you can admit that you're generalizing.

I really hope that Condi is the nominee, it would blow people's minds about the GOP and send most of the left into a rhetorical tailspin. I don't think she would have any trouble getting Republican votes. Most Republicans aren't racist and out of those who are, they generally aren't dogmatically racist so much as they tend towards skepticism when it comes to minorities, which means that if a minority person wins their confidence, they are generally fine with them.
