:omg::-D...do you know the registration plate says TOPLESS?

    And it's still pink.

    How can that be classy?

The "mac" in tarmac is a pointer.

Why Mike? Why does everything have to be oversized (don't...go there). You'll be forced to downsize when fossil fuels run out...why not do it now. Are you intent on waiting until it's all gone.

    Just like that buffalo thing...

some white guy with whisky breath stole an idea that had been around for a millenium? :confuse:

    1. economy of scale. it's cheaper to use 1 big truck to move 45,000lbs than to use 3 baby trucks to move 15,000 each.

    2. we have 800 years of dino-fuel. oil just needs to be above $70bbl for it to be profitable.

    our buffalos have wings now.

    we improve everything.

That black one is pretty cool. I'm a huge fan of antique cars. I wish I could afford to get one to restore :-D

It's the new Aston Martin Virage - awesomely good looking vehicle! Ferrari and Porsche are OK, but for looks, and for sheer class, Aston Martin win every time.

My brother says that. And from childhood, he has loved cars. Every time I see him, he has a different car, it's very hard to keep track of him. If anyone toots at me, I have to just wave and assume it's him.

He always wanted a classic E-type jag. He got around to it a couple of years back and as with my husbands Alfa Romeo phase (pass everything but a garage), the car did not really live up to expectation. Honestly the E-type jag...what is it even all about? I hate cars you have to throw yourself down into and then when you need to exit, you're almost below pavement height. Car designers need to put seats at a reasonable height, so a person can sit on the seat and swing in without having to clamber and also they should design them for decent visibility when driving.

Landrovers are the same in that respect, mine had a step. Easy(ish) to step into and exit. The one I use for work has no step. You have to leap. All right it's fun, but...

Anyway the jag made up for it by having an open top, but old cars are just not as comfortable or reliable as newer.

Then surely the danger lies in having a country full of tractor trailer rigs and big trucks - not with light weight, fuel efficient automobiles.

Put freight back on trains where it belongs.

Ok for some I suppose. Luckily, I have an adequately sized penis - so I don't need to find other ways to compensate

So, if someone owns or wants to own something you don't like such as certain types of car, or -since you're a Queensland Felony Islander- guns; its all because they have a small dick? I could just as well say that anyone who owns or wants to own a Smart Car or is anti-gun is mentaly challenged.

Are SUVs safer for road users, or just for the people who are driving SUVs?

Guns are also used to murder and commit crime.

He's not really. I realise the scale of US and that many people live rurally and have genuine reasons to want those huge vehicles and for sure we all have juggernauts (or joggernuts, as my Gran called them) but the rest of the world operates well enough without overblown gas guzzlers and most of us don't really get why US likes everything so big. It's viewed by many as something you like, not something you need. Some people view it as immature showing off and some even as irresponsibility in view of the international commitments to reduce consumption and pollution etc.

The previous poster is simply talking nonsense. SUVs are less safe for road users and no different at all for the drivers

Are SUVs Safer than Cars? An Analysis of Risk by Vehicle Type and Model

    Summary of Findings
•Average midsize and large cars have same risk to drivers as average
    SUV
•Safest subcompact and compact cars have same risk to driver as
    average SUV
•Pickups and SUVs (and minivans) impose high risks on other drivers
because of their incompatibility with cars
•Average subcompact and compact cars have similar combined risk
    as average SUV

    http://eetd.lbl.gov/ea/teepa/pdf/TRB_Safety_1-03.pdf

But they do seem to provide some sort of feeble security blanket for those poor souls who remain convinced that "size matters".

I see your cultural emotional attachment is blinding you. That car is embarrassing, not classy(but it looks fun:mrgreen:).

Do you ever read a book? Here, read this and stop trying to soil the achievements of this great man because you don't know he did it all with money he made in US. He is an icon of personal initiative and service to the good of the people.

    http://www.drivewaydesign.eu/Information/MaterialsHistory/Macadam.aspx

    Hang your head in shame.

How is that economy? If you only used it to do things like that, then ok. But don't you all run about the town in them also?

800 years is not very long. And US consumption was really high in comparison to other countries, last time I heard (though as you know, I am too lazy to verify this unless you really annoy me).

In Disneyworld. In the real world, you murdered the buffalo with your big fat guns.:-D

    REAL MEN???

I sure wish people would just come out of the closet, instead of opaquely over compensating...

land rich, money poor; yes, uses diesel and a lot of it...but necessary when you run a farm. We haul horses pretty much every weekend in the summer; hay has to be hauled in (we are having to drive two states and more away to find any because of the drought); and of course when the calves are ready for market we have to haul them out...it doesn't sit idle much but when we are going to the grocery or into town for recreation, we go in my little Focus.

'gave it away'?? so you think this whole thread is a subliminal attack on gay rights?

you don't think there are some things that gay men find cute that are not the same as what a straight man would find cute?

I didn't say any of that...
SiliconMagician made a homophobic comment, and I called him on it.

Don't try to put words in my mouth...or twist my words.
Just stick to what you T-Baggers do best...peddle fear and hate.

well next time, when you want to call someone out on a post, try quoting it so people will have a clue what you are talking about.

and the only person here spewing hate is the one calling names...what Silicon Magician posted was not mean or hateful.

and for the record, I am a member of the Tea Party, not a Clinton supporter..
