    Betch'yer house smells really good all day. I like to use just very little corned beef and replace it with some pork. CB alone is too overpowering, even when you soak it first.

    Corned Beef sometimes has a fatty ridge that if cooked in a crock pot
    or slow roaster leaves a lot of juices.Meaning a lot of rendered fat.
    That is why cooking a corned beef brisket with cabbage sometimes
    leaves the cabbage too sloggy and wet with fatty juices.
    But if one drains off the fatty juices it makes for a good soup or
    stock.Use purple cabbage because it is heartier and less likely to get
    all mushy.
