I dunno... they started playing classical music in the lobby of my bldg and now everytime I step outta the elevator, I expect to see Christmas trees and stuff.

I like tranquil, though. Just not in the middle of the work week. Better for me to stay revved up!

I had to do a double take 'cuz I thought you said, "Do you even own a hula hoop?"

LOL, the answer to that question is HELL NO, but I had one when I was a kid. They brought out a bunch of 'em at the last staff retreat I attended and had a contest to see who could keep 'em going the longest. I didn't last long. I was better at building a outhouse out of 3 cardboard boxes, some string, wire, pipecleaners and newspapers. My team won that one!

I've been so worried about you, so, so, so glad to hear you're okay.

I have a first (second hand) tale of a recent miracle!
My oldest sister went to her doctor for her regular once a year check-up and it just so "happened" that her doctor was able to detect something that turned out to be uterine cancer.
And incredibly deadly and fast moving cancer.
He promptly sent her to a gyno-oncologist who scheduled her for a total hysterectomy as soon as possible and praise be to God (sincerely) it had NOT had a chance to spread, they got it all and she is now 100% cancer free.

There are several hospitals who offer a discount and/or payment plan for those who are not insured and/or have significant financial constraints.

I've seen signs at almost every ER I've been too in the last 7 years (which is about 9 of 'em) who have a sign explaining that those w/out insurance and/or the immediate ability to pay--can qualify for what most of 'em call a "charity" discount.

Hope this is true in your area.

Also, since you mentioned he might need surgery, doctors are paid separately from the hospital (even through insurance companies) and approaching local doctor one on one can also be effective.
A local church or food bank or homeless shelter would probably have a list of local doctors that have worked with people in the past.

Clearly for our own protection!
Computer screens would melt....laptops would implode and massive crowds of wimmen folk would get arrested for storming his house, causing a riot and basically a huge brouhaha would occur.

His concern in diverting all the above is just downright altruism defined iffen you ask me!

I do hereby propose we set up some sort of "Bar Betting Pool" centered around just how many days/weeks/months I can go without a trip to the danged ol' ER.
Winner gets free drinks, coffee and first go at da buffet table OT spreads out for us!

Yeppers fellow bar patrons, I have once again had the oh so wonderful *cough cough* opportunity to grace my local ER with my presence.

Long about 10:00 last evening, I went into the kitchen to make myself a lovely omelet.
I noticed our doggie friends needed food in their bowls, so being the loving doggie guardian I am, I gave 'em both some food.

Apparently I spilled some on the floor.

And inevitably....my foot found just enough of the spillage to send me a sprawling.
Eggs broken on the floor, my socks soaking it up....soda spilled on the floor....my sleeve soaking it up.
Speckles the wonder pooch graciously cleaned up the spilled eggs and then had herself a glorious time licking my socks all to hell and gone.

My Sweetie had *just* gone to sleep....I happened to have my phone around and so's I called her phone and let it wake up a bit, then hollered and hollered until she heard me.
(Speckles was way to into the egg clean up to, I dunno....go GET "Mama amber" for me.....)

After about 20 minutes of pain assessment, I realized I needed to go do the ER shuffle yet again.

Nothing broken, nothing fractured....bunches of contusions and a very jarring left arm injury.

I am sporting a very lovely sling and figger I got about 8 more minutes afore I just clean pass out.

Les' see....between 1215 AM and 230 AM, they did give me 3 shots of 1mg each of Dilaudid.

Soon as I finish this up, I'm a gonna lay myself down in the most comfy position possible (running out of those!) and pass out for probly near 'bout 19 hours.

*ahem*

As a responsible bar patron, I am now affixing to my ever so lovely sling a 'DO NOT SERVE' sign.

(Least until Wednesday night and possibly Thursday. I do hereby offer my usual servings of alkehall to the first one who'd like to claim it. Falena? That be you?)

I really didn't wanna allude to it, but since you mentioned....

A year or so ago, a young lady (friend) in Roma told me that one of her friends had repeatedly asked about me, and wanted my friend to ask me to send her one of my foto's. Well, I'm usually shy (as I'm sure you guys know), but I relented because of my friends insistence, and sent the girl one.

Little did I know then the trouble it would ultimately cause.

Holy Mother! First it started in Italia, then Spain, France and quickly spread around the globe. To keep the story brief, I'll just say... I'm sure you guys read of the Black Berry system meltdown that lasted for days........... hell, some of you may even have experienced it. *sigh*

So you see, as Tresha so aptly concluded/suggested, for the well being of women around the globe (and the internet), I simply can't risk transmitting/posting another. (I'm just good like that)
