Best part of Thanksgiving are all the sales on Black Friday! Instead of Christmas shopping this year, I'm in the market for a new TV for myself. Geesh, it's sure complicated now days. Not only do you have shell out $$$ for the TV, nobody can install their own set anymore... gotta pay another $150 for installation. Crazy.

Looking forward to the time off... even more than the turkey & dressing.

That sounds good. All right...what is "Black Friday"...?

I was just looking for my set of the Sky buttons (He is very organised, there are three sets of remotes in this room alone) and wondering why we can't go back to the days of one remote control. It's the same in work, tvs in all the rest rooms and it's a hit and a miss to get them on.

This era will historically be remembered as the era of too many tv remotes (which no one knows how to work).

If you have turkey now, what do you have at Christmas?

I know, I'm off today and tomorrow because I agreed to work next weekend for some special thing. It's good now, but will be rubbish next week.

Yes.I believe Wal*mart is offering a sale on TV this Friday. And prices are pretty good
already. My first Projection screen TV { JVC 55" } was $4,ooo back in the mid 90's.
And depending on how many things you have like VCR,DVD,Stereo etc. hookup
can be hairy.Depending on what kinda shelve you have those units sitting on.
You gotta disconnect those units and re-hookup with all those wires into the
new TV.So it depends how much room there is to move around between the
TV/VCR,DVD Stand or shelf and the wall.
Instillation should probably be $75 w/delievery.
The old saying around Kentucky is ... Charge ya double.

*grumble grumble* got knocked off. Try again...

"Black Friday" is the day after Thanksgiving... when the best bargains of the year can be found. This year it's gonna be crazy with a lot of stores actually starting their sales ON Thanksgiving Day. Some run excellent sales that are only good say between midnight & 3 am. Some between 7-9 am. Serious bargain hunters will be out in force. Which is why I plan to buy a TV and come back home!

About that turkey & dressing... most folks have it for Christmas, too. I know the times we've decided to do something else for Christmas, like a ham or prime rib roast... everybody misses the turkey & dressing. Since Christmas is a time of abundance, lots of folks have a big spiral-cut ham for Christmas Eve, then a turkey Christmas Day. Which results in enough leftovers for two weeks!

Mmmmm, ham sammich. Wish I had one for lunch today... instead of this tuna. :(

Demand she git a crackin' on the big feast come thursday. It takes days of preparation to
properly fix a nice sit-down Turkey day feast.
Don't settle for her saying all she has to do is run off to the Grocer for a bag of
    mini-marshmellows.

Um ... not so fast thar.I distinctly remember a Black Friday coming on a thursday.
The time Aunty Ann done overcooked the big bird.Actually it was burnt.Like
a cannonball fired during the civl war.No question about it.It was a Black Thursday.
Even the mini-marshmellows in the candied yam goop were slightly blackened.
I think the oven was having some kind of menapause issue,I do.
On account the smells that day weren't of Turkey,is all.

Which do you prefer... overcooked or undercooked? I've had 'em both way and personally, I prefer the burnt bird.

    To each his own...

If overcooked there is no salvage. If undercooked one can still put in oven
for a bit more time. But I hear tell some Witch prefer the more New England
approach and just toss it back in the cauldron in lieu of a burning at the stake.
BTW ... how did ya let yerself get knocked again.
All's well that ends well ... * gobble gobble gobble *

Hope no one gets trampled at Walmart again this friday, the guy was a temp worker trying to get the earned income tax credit by putting in a few hours before the end of the year, and the mob ran him over for deals.

can't wait till the economy gets better so people don't become this blood lust for a deal
