    Been up since 7, made a chocolate icebox pie, sliced, seeded & stuffed (w/ cream cheese) a huge platter of pickled jalapenos... stuffed celery with pimento cheese. All that's left to do is peel & cook the mashed taters and I've got a grandson handy for that chore!

    Here's the menu at my place today:

    Roasted Turkey
    Honeybaked Ham
    Cornbread Dressing
    Mashed Potatoes
    Giblet Gravy
    Cranberry Sauce (the jelly kind)
    Candied Yams
    Green Been Casserole
    Stuffed celery & peppers
    Pickle & olive tray
    Yeast rolls & cornbread

    Pumpkin Pie
    Chocolate Pie
    Dutch Apple Pie

    Oh yeah, and a nice stash of brownies & pinot grigio for the hostess.

    Let the feast begin!!!!

    Christina McLarty & Kevin Frazier hosted the Thanksgiving Day Parade from NYC... and I had it on while I was working in the kitchen. Their banter was driving me nuts and if they'd said 'we're having a blast' one more time I was gonna switch channels.

    Out of nowhere, Christina sez, "Kevin, how many will be at your dinner today... just the wife & kids?" LOL, he really went off on her, "CHRISTINA, I'VE TOLD YOU THREE TIMES ALREADY THERE WILL BE SEVEN PEOPLE FOR DINNER AT MY HOUSE TODAY!" I didn't hear what else he was ranting about 'cuz I was too busy watching her reaction. She looked like he'd slapped her right there on the air! After they broke for commercial, I was kinda surprised to see 'em come back together! Kinda tense for the rest of the parade and I didn't hear one single 'blast'.

    Hilarious. Appreciated the laff this morning. :-D

    Now, I can talk with y'all, like I am from Texarcana in the United States of Ahmurica! (it was sweeter than I thought it would be, honey was apparently involved)

    Ocean Spray is the best canned..I think. I prefer to make my own and Ocean Spray has a great recipe on their bag of cranberries. IMO.

    I use crandberries sugar and orange juice. Just cook it till the crandberries get soft.

    Sweet cornbread's not my fav... I don't put any sweetener in mine. But lots of people like it that way. Tell your sweet daughter to make you a batch without honey or sugar. Butter it while it's hot... and you'll think you're in heaven!! :-D
