What a night! Definately one of the best gigs I have ever, ever been to (and I've been to quite a few over the years). A couple of hundred of us packed into a small, sweaty club, with Fish on top, top form, and in excellent voice. Lots of classic songs (and excellent accoustic versions of them - great to here them like 'stripped down' that), and lots of chat and banter, and lots of passion from him and the audience. Absolutely immense.

He did this song (this video was from a gig a couple of weeks ago), one of my favorites from his days in Marillion, but there was so much more passion from the audience last night than there seems to be in this video. I've never heard such a small crowd of people make so much noise as last night, singing the last part of this song!

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDDdBstE0wM"]Fish - Fugazi (accoustic live) [/ame]

He obviously enjoyed himself, too. After the gig he tweeted this:
" Viet food, fired up and great gig to passionate audience. Result ! Wonderful return.happy F's ;-) ".

hahahaha g'morning OT! Come on now, you know you want one. I hope the missus has you out there tromping around in the snow today, looking for one!

Besides, we all know it's a sin not to have it up 30 minutes after Thanksgiving has passed!!

Maybe this will help get you jump started...

Actually we don't use a live tree anymore. If we do put up our little 3 ft. tree we don't have the hassle of a live one. Besides a decent one here can run you at least 50.00 Who needs that kind of cost. Not me.

So OK people now listen up. Xmas is coming and I want presents and lots of them. :-D bah hunbug

I understand completely, OT. I was just teasing you. :)

I get enjoyment from seeing others happy with the decorations, but personally it's not something that I do. A couple years ago my GF purchased a small glass tree for the apartment in Italia. It's very nice/pretty, but simplistic, place it on the counter and lite a nice candle beside it.

No problem my friend. Out in the shed we have so many xmas decorations that it would blow someone's mind. We used to go the whole route. outside trees and bushs, the house and everything inbetween. But now the kids are all gone and we no longer have the house, we now live in an apartment complex and have an end unit that is just like a house. Linda still likes to decorate the inside a little and I just sit back and let her. All I have to do now is bring in the small table and the small tree for her and she is happy and so am I. So I get a kick out of acting like Scrooge and saying Bah Humbug.

Very nice Thanksgiving. Can't believe there's only one turkey leg and a lil bit of ham left on that big ole bone! I see a pot of lima beans in the near future!!

Jstar, glad you found us. Pick out a bar stool and carve your initials in it so you'll always have a seat!

OT & Ange, agree about the minimal decorations thing. Tabletop fake tree suits me just fine! We've got beautiful 20' trees in my bldg's lobby... white flocked with turquoise ornaments and gorgeously wrapped (empty) boxes underneath. That's enough Christmas excess for me this year!

Cenydd, so glad to hear you had a good time! There used to be a small pub near my house that featured live bands every weekend. That's the only way to hear a group you really like... even if your ears do ring for a coupla days after!

I hit the stores this morning... but only bought for myself! I'll worry about everybody else later. Come on, Shangrila... aren't you hitting the mall today??

I got lucky. Linda likes cardigan v-neck sweaters that button. I have looked all over three area towns and no luck. I checked all of the major stores, no luck. She really does need a new one and is a little down hearted that we can't find one.

So today just for the heck of it I checked Pennys again and lo and behold there they were. and on sale to a 59.00 sweater on sale for 9.98. So I bought two of them for her. In her size and the color that she wants. But she can't have them until xmas. She doesn't know about them yet. Aint I a big stinker.

Good find, OT! I'm sure she'll love 'em!

Oh my. Grandson has a date tonight... second date actually. He doesn't drive... she does. He's 20, she's 26. Met her when she picked him up and she's quite a looker! Not to mention smart... she brought me a piece of coconut cake. ;)

Bah humbug. Morning all. This morning I had to get out of my nice warm bed to find out that I had shut the heat down to far last night and the house felt like it was frozen. It is only 9 degrees outside right now and the temperature is still falling. It snowed all day yesterday here and now I have to shovel again. Humbug.

Anyway, hows about some nice belgian waffles this morning. Hope your day starts better than mine. Have a great day everyone.
