    I agree Smarts! I have joked about it in the past, but today is just ridiculous.

    To say it sucks (which I never say), would be a understatement.

    I expect next, that posting of pix and videos may fall by the wayside.

    Seriously, they are huge resource hogs.

    Otherwise, good evening guys! :p

    Myself, my next trip will be to see my parents birthplaces, and maybe try to meet a few distant relatives, no matter how cold and dreary everyone says it is.

    You should check out R&R sometime.

    Equal to or surpasses Crown, and half the cost. ;)

    I believe with about half bottle of that R&R, and a few more of those Conway tunes, I could fall in love, or on the dance floor, or something!

    True story.. when I was working for the airline, had to go to Lubbock, Texas for an overnight trip. Stayed at the Holiday Inn @ the airport, checked in late and went to the restaurant for some dinner. The place was nearly empty and just after I ordered, a very nice looking gentleman brought his coffee cup to my table and asked if he could keep me company while I had dinner. Said he hated to eat alone. Well, I was used to traveling on business and didn't mind eating alone... but I couldn't tell him no 'cuz I figured it took a lot of courage to just ask. I could never be that bold, could you?

    Anyway, the vid of Conway singing to Loretta reminds me this guy. Not that he was a croner... but he told me he was the 'youngest member' of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band in New Orleans. To prove he was really a musician, he pulled the cover off the ole Holiday Inn upright piano and proceeded to serenade me there in that empty dining room. It was pretty friggin magical... for Lubbock friggin, Texas. LOL

    The rest of the story?

    After a few drinks in the bar, learned his wife worked for Delta, they had an 'open marriage' *koff* and I'd never lived til I'd made love with a musician. No married men for me, so that's where it ended. But I'll always have a sweet spot in my heart for that memory. He still makes me smile. ;)

    Just from the start, want y'all to know the length of this post is SMW's fault.

    She told me to come in here, tell her where all I've been and to start with "hello"

    (So clearly, I've already broken the rules. Oops)

    [oh. Btw, I've not had my "night-night" meds yet, so I'm allowed some liquor. Someone line up 'bout 9 tequila shots huh? 9 shots of tequila counts as "some" liquor...yes?]

    All-righty then!

    On March 5th, I had what my regular MD, my PT workers (and there've been loads of 'em) and my Sweetie, BF etc.....have all concluded was a stroke.
    MRI didn't show this (a stroke), but they did NOT do a brain MRI with contrast.
    B/c ya know, that would make sense.

    Essentially I passed completely out. (that was the *counting in head* 3rd time since last summer)
    Took my Sweetie amber near 'bout 5 minutes to get me back conscious.

    By the time we got me to the doctor, (seemed like a good idea) my RT leg wasn't responding to basic commands, my RT arm wasn't working all that well and my speech was wayyyyyyyy slurred.
    (Y'all know, like falena's is every morning?)

    *tosses back a shot*

    Anyway.....
    My doc tells me that there is simply no way, given the (still) after-effects of the whole "passing clean out" episode that this couldn't be anything but a stroke.

    So, I spent about week and half in a phys rehab hospital, trying to get my RT leg to do things like, "bend" or "straighten" and my RT foot to simply lay flat on the ground.
    Trying to get my RT arm to hold onto things like....a pencil. Or let me squeeze my fingers together w/out it hurting like all hell & gone.

    No one seemed much interested in trying to do things like....I dunno anything diagnostic (since docs there were still saying "you didn't have a stroke") amber and figured there wasn't much use to me hanging out there....and they was about ready to discharge me anyway.

    *tosses back 2 shots*

    Got me hooked up with home nursing and home PT.....and about 5 weeks after I got outta the phys rehab hospital, I developed a DVT. (Deep vein thrombosis. Blood clot) in my RT leg.
    (For those keeping score, yep, this be the leg don't work so right.)

    And yes, I had the "stroke" before the blood clot, b/c I try and do things bass-ackwards.

    Back to the (regular) hospital where they shot me in the tummy twice a day with what apparently was one hella big dose of anti-clot medicine and started me on oral blood thinners.

    Spent 8 lovely days doing that, came home and started PT again.
    And got used to having my finger poked 'bout 3 times a week so's they could make sure my blood thinning medication and my body were playing nice with each other.

    Now the really fun part is.....somewhere in all this, I did something to cause an incredibly deep bone bruise to my butt.

    *three shots.* (how many is that now? I can't possibly be expected to do tequila shots, type and keep count can I?)

    Aside from PT, doc visits and "cheating" to go to amber's son's graduation....I've had to be mostly prone, near 'bout 24 hours a day.

    Until the last couple of days, I couldn't even bear the weight of me laptop propped up, well....in my lap, 'cause the pressure was too much on my bo-hiney.

    Which means.....I been watching lots and lots of baseball (which I like, but there is a limit), lots of horrid TV and reading/re-reading just 'bout every book I own.

    None of my docs seem to know when any of this might resolve itself, which is always encouraging to hear from a medical doctor; so these days I spend my time trying not to feel helpless, burdensome to amber and missing like hell being able to walk my dogs.

    To say the least, being able to be back online again is very akin to winning the lottery for me.
    (not that I'd turn down lottery money. Jus sayin')

    So, as I said....it's SMW's fault this is so long.....but she did ask, so blame it on her.

    Oh. Should probably eat something to go with all this tequila.
    :chew: :popcorn:

    Hope there's someone left here to pour me a drink.
    I'd hate to wander around looking for glasses without cigarette butts in em.

    G' morning guys. :sun:

    Cool story Smartie. It's funny how certain events/happenings seem to stick with us, regardless of outcome. Equally interesting is finding your experience set in Lubbock (lol). I too once had a brief unexpected stay there (weekend). Stranded more or less, due to half ass diagnostics/service done to my bike in Garland. grrrrrrr, still aggravates me!

    Fortunately, I was able to speak with a shop owner personally in Lubbock, that was an outstanding fellow. Arranged for pickup and transportation from the hotel of the bike, provided me with a nice auto for a couple days and info on good places to dine.

    Once the shop was open (the following Tuesday), the service was top rate and correct. And additionally, he (the owner), would take no money for the use of his auto. Truly a stand up guy. Not sure what ever became of he, his wife and the business, but shout out to Graves Harley Davidson of Lubbock!

    ~~~~~~~~~
    Hi Agrona!
    Glad to see you survived! :p
    ...make any headway on selling the house? hahahahaaaha
    Happy Sunday all! Car issues this morning, so no Cowboy Church. Rest assured the next time I'm there... your name will be added to their prayer list, Tresha. It's great to see you back and needless to say, I'm so sorry you've had to go thru all that. Hang tough, g/f. :hug:
    Just came back from church too.
    I don't like going to church because I end up getting gas at the most worst times, when everyones quiet and praying. Its embarassing especially when the girls are there that I have a crush on.
