    Happy Monday!! Last day off on my long weekend... and plan to take the grandson shopping for a new shoes and jeans w/o built-in holes. Gonna try to show him what his waist is for and if he gets jeans that fit, he won't spend all his time pulling them up. *ole lady grumble* We had a nice day yesterday... family biz took us down to the hill country... in fact, we were very close to the Crawford Ranch. Sure is dry down that way... doesn't look like they got any rain from the recent storm. Saw lots of biz marquees saying, "Pray for Rain" -- hope they get some soon.

    Just read an article in Parade magazine saying the month before vacation is the most beneficial part of the trip (for your spirits). So y'all have to pardon me if I dwell on our early Sept getaway to Galveston. We've decided to fly & rent a car, so I'm really looking forward to a relaxing trip... not being trapped in the car on the interstate for hours. 40 min flight for $49. Gotta luv SW Airlines!

    Here's a little travel brochure I found. Moody Gardens is a great place to visit on the island. The Moody Foundation is the largest private foundation in Texas and based in Galveston... they've done some great things for the island - can't wait to see the new rainforest!

    OK you asked for it. It is 61 degrees right now at 10:25 am. It is totally overcast with a light rain falling and it is supposed to continue all day. We have a lot of low lying clouds floating around the valley to. So far this year we have not yet even begun summer and if this keeps up we wont either. So far there is only another 30 days left of our summer. I just hope that this can keep up.

    That was a great description...I can ALMOST imagine it....ahhhhh. We did get a good shower Saturday, which was nice in itself. Then we could have changed the name to ArklaFlorida when it was over. Saunaville deluxe.

    Man, 100+ with humidity? I don't know if I could stand being out in that for even a few moments, unless we're right next to beach. Oh wait, we are.

    I think the last time I was in an actual 100+ weather was back when I was youngster in Missouri. Our nation's mid-section often gets as hot as, if not sometimes hotter than most of the south, including Texas. Central Missouri was no exception. Luckily, it seldom gets near 100 here in Indiana. It just feels like it a lot.

    You're right about the mid-section. We've been in the 100's here for what seems like a very long time, plus we have the humidity. I was actually more comfortable when I went to visit in West Texas recently, even though the temps were about what they are here. It's because it was that "dry heat" we hear about.
