Arrrr!! [IMG]The Bermuda Triangle is where Mother Carey comes to take her good seafarin' lads [IMG]to Davy Jones' locker, I tell ye!

Actually, I think it's a combination of human error, and perhaps the occasional rogue wave - mostly human error.

I love it too. Believe it or not, I eat it every day. Lots of vegs....I stay trim and healthy.

I never get tired of salmon. Yum !!

I buy it in single serving 4 oz packs from Food Lion and it works out to $4/pound. Good deal. I prolly have about 40 in the freezer right now.

I will not make it with pine nuts. No pine nuts in my house ever again. I had that thing where I ate them and everything tasted so bitter for two weeks. There poison I tell yah!

I make it with walnuts instead. They really like it but my mom wants the macaroni with gravy. I made some from the garden tomatoes yesterday for her.

My daughter accepted an assignment as a travelling nurse - she left here Sunday, and is currently in Worcester, Mass for the next three months.

A couple of weeks when my wife called me, she told me that our daughter was going to (pronounced) War Chester, Mass. I told her I'd never heard of that city, and to please spell it. She did, and when I finished laughing, she said "Ok, smart-ass, how do you pronounce it?" To which I replied "It's called Wooster, like the steak sauce. It's not War Chester Shire sauce, it's called Wooster Shire sauce."

This weekend we were laying in bed late Saturday night, and PT-109 was on - the old movie about JFK in WWII. Somebody makes a comment in the movie about how they should have gone to Harvard, and Kennedy replies, "It's Haahvaad."

I told my wife that our daughter was going to return sounding just like that - no more "R" in the words, it's all that hard-"A". She'll tell us how she and some friends took the cah and drove to Baahstan and had chowdaah and a lobstaah dinnaah."

I don't know who's going to have the greater culture shock - the Southern girl in Yankeeland, or the Yankees who meet a genuine GRITS (Girl Raised In The South)! :D

I saw a program a while back about some airforce pilots, I believe it was WWII pilots, who were lost in that area. It is kind of odd when you hear about it. I wonder how many ships and planes cross that area in comparison to other areas that were actually lost.

Funny! Although, I admit....I didn't know the correct way to pronounce Worcester, either.

All that needs is some wild rice and asparagus. Good Lord Im getting hungry.

Id love to fish for salmon in Alaska some day. I should add that to my list of things Im gonna do before I die. Salmon fishing in Alaska and sleeping in a cabin in the woods there. Now that sounds like a plan.

The pronunciation of Worcestershire is a point of contention in my household and had been for many years. I tell my heathen husband and sons it's pronounced "wooster" and the mock me. ROFL

Go in the summer, sometime between mid-July and mid-September, and you'll probably see a lot of this --

I liked salmon, but I ate so much of it when I was stationed in Alaska, I burnt myself out on it. About the only way I'll eat it anymore is either in sushi, or else lox on a bagel.

    Here's a great one!

If you're in Pennsylvania, Lancaster is pronounced like "Lank-a-stir".

If you're in California, Lancaster is pronounced like "Lan-caster".

Around here, there are a lot of towns with "ville" on the end of them. A little town called Berryville is pronounced (by the locals) "Burr-vuhl"..actually most all of the ones ending with the "ville" are pronouced "vuhl". I think it's more laziness than anything, but it's funny, too.

Where I'm from originally is St. Louis, so the town in Kentucky is pronounced "Louis-ville". A friend of mine from there said that's not how it's pronounced, the best way to pronounce it is to pretend that you've just walked out of the dentist's office with a mouth numbed by Novacaine.

Strangely enough, it works! If you want to sound like a native, just remember that, and pronounce it as "Lew-ull-vulle". ;)

The other interesting one I've discovered is over where Trinnity lives. In North Carolina, Beaufort is pronounced "Beau-fort" - "beau" as in "beautiful". In South Carolina, Beaufort is pronounced "Bow-fort" - "bow" as in "bow and arrow".

There's also a Miami, Oklahoma....pronounced "Miy-a-muh" instead of "Miamee" as in Florida.

This sounds like a cool road game. I bet you see lots of different names all over the country with your travels.

Lemme tell ya, I'm a big fan of salmon. You'd have to be to eat it pretty much every day.

Never overcook it. It gets dry and tough. It's a real shame....It cooks real fast, too.

It's so good with ANYTHING !!!!!
Heck don't get me started here. I should start a social group for salmon lovers. Don't tempt me, y'all !!!!

    I  :trout:

    :trout: <--- that's a salmon this time....

This ugly critter is a Patagonian Toothfish --

-- found mainly in the cold waters around Antarctica.

Up until the mid-80's, you couldn't order one of these in a seafood restaurant - although they are tasty, the name seemed to turn people off. Then, some bright person hit upon the idea of re-naming the fish, and sales began to skyrocket.

The new name? Chilean sea bass.
