LOL, I'd go with chuck as well. And that recipe reminds me why I like Wolf Brand so much. Cooking chili is HARD!!!

Exactly the same with tex-mex. The few times I've made enchiladas, I realized it's easier and cheaper to buy somebody elses. Same with tamales. No way would I go to all that trouble for something I can buy for 6 bucks a dozen!

Awww, I bet she's got a bowl of leftovers in the 'fridge. It's impossible to make a little bit of beans and you've always gotta save some cornbread to have with a glass of sweet milk later!

Yeah, g/f... second time I've had it cut and she scalped me today! One shouldn't talk to their hairdresser. I got to talking about Galveston and I think she got a little carried away with the scissors. Think I'm looking at haircuts every 5 weeks... but this one oughta last at least 6! :omg:

(figure I'll do the gel & spike thing til it grows out. call it my Annie Lennox look!)

Oh, that'll work just fine. Taters? In the beans? Now I need a recipe.

I'm just as bad in the bean aisle at the grocery store. Gotta stand there 10 min, deciding what kind sounds good. This week, I bought a bag of small red beans (kidney beans to yankees). I like 'em cooked with ham (red beans w/rice)... but pintos have to have beef, after being cooked with a hunk of salt pork of course.

    :fart:

(a tsp of baking soda while cooking will eliminate that problem.)

Now yer talking. Sorry, no recipe. Ad lib. Add the taters half way through the cooking time, makes for a creamier soup, if that makes sense. Carrots to balance for sweetness.

Never tried the taters, but I will now. My mil always cubed up a potato to fry with okra. Delicious!

That's it! I'm turning down the ac and fixing beans!
Think I'll go with large limas...and big chunks of ham.
