Did you notice how US belligerency completely backfired?

After they got the Europeans to intercept that plane with the Bolivian leader on it, suddenly all these different Latin American countries were offering asylum for Snowden, practically fighting over who gets to be the ones to give that big middle finger to the USA.

Go south america! Seriously, I want them all to give a big middle finger to the US and Obama. Enough of the US government overstepping its bounds, and enough of Obama's worthless foreign policy.

Obama will have Snowden killed in due course. There can be little doubt of that. Snowden embarrassed Obama. That's a capital offense.

Snowden is leaving the "tyranny" of the US for Venezuela? That's hilarious. He'll be schooled in "tyranny" soon enough.

Maybe Venezuela will offer to trade Snowden for Luis Posadas Carriles?
Venezuela still wants Carriles for terrorism, for blowing up a civilian airliner and killing all 75 on board, but the US gave him and convicted terrorist Orlando Bosch asylum.

No, he clearly fights for the system, same as Assange. Now we have two 'whistleblowers' on the 'run' (because they were no real whistleblowers, because a real whistelblower would not have a voice in the pro system media, and they had)
A real whistleblower would be someone that is not exposing gov documents or warning about that we are spied on by 'our own' governments, but that that kind of propaganda is leading to organisation, because people take a stance, are pro or anti Snowden or Assange (never neutral, or can see they are puppets or revolutionaries) A pro or anti topic is what you see often in politics, because that is causing fight which leads to organisation of citizens (voters) This era is about mass organisation, that's the main process that is going on) 'Snowden' and 'Assange' (their acts, showed to millions via mass media), caused the same, anger in millions (leaking and spying gov), and because of that organisation via politics)
Showden and Assange are revolutionaries. They are not on the run, that is done to let people believe that when you expose government they are taking your rights, your freedom. And when people's rights and freedom are taken away, they start to fight, and that fight leads to their organisation. Via politics, via the (big) parties, in the UK and US a couple large parties are left, in every country there are currently a few large parties (the smaller parties are of no importance), because this era is about mass organisation.

You are right. But the information he gave to all the people must change the system. How to make the elite of the country to implement the law. We should support the Snowden and not judge him. He's not a murderer, not a thief. You are against what would be spying on you?

I'm hoping Snowden meets up with Assange and they start a rock band or something. Maybe get a talking dog, travel the world in an SUV and solve mysteries. If all else fails, they could make a movie, call it "Julian and Ed's Excellent Adventure".

    Hey, Hollywood's made worse.

You clearly are confused over the definition of whistle blower. The difference between a spy and whistle blower is determined by the manner and contents of disclosure, the person the info is given out to as well as how the person got his hands on to that document in the first place. What consequences that disclosure has has no bearing at all in determining whether it was an act of spying or whistle blowing.

Venezuela is a democratic country. But I understand, that is not in your daily Fox propaganda meal.

He had no choice.. Previous NSA whistleblowers came forward and asserted there was massive illegal surveillance and spying, and they were smeared as liars, ridiculed and of course the fact they showed no proof was emphasized.

They wanted the proof, THEY GOT IT.

    So no need to complain.

Also, you can't blame Snowden for the anger and division, because this was caused by the program itself.

It's like committing a crime, and blaming the person who turned you in to the police for why you have to go to jail.

The USA government did some horrible things to people and governments around the world.

They must man up and accept the consequences for their own actions, instead of the usual scapegoating, where you blame the guy who exposed the wrongdoing. As though Snowden put a gun to NSA's head and demanded this espionage.

    Sure,

Whistleblower Eligio Cedeno was imprisoned for 34 months in Venezuela after being arrested in a government crackdown. Eventually the UN pressed for Cedeno's release. After he was released, he fled to the least tyrannical country on Earth seeking political asylum. Can you guess which country he fled to? Oh, the irony.

The United States did not do anything that other major powers aren't already doing. Difference is, they got caught, and that's because United States culture glories that 15 minutes of fame/infamy, and Snowden sold out his own country in pursuit of his. Hope he enjoys his fame down in freedom loving Venezuela, where I imagine he will meet an unwanted fate sooner or later. Traitors deserve no less.

Death is part of the truth of our existence. Snowden will simply move on to the next phase of his existence.
