Biden should go on tv with pictures of Manchin and pictures of the various projects and the people they would help. He should then start by showing the current condition and the expected condition of the issue and the people it would help and then point to Manchins picture and say that this is the SOB who is intent on screwing you. And repeat the process for all items in the bill. It would take a while but in the end tens of millions of people should be highly pissed off at Manchin.

It's 2,468 pages long. Nobody has read it, not even the members of Congress who are being asked to vote for or against it. Nobody, not a single person, knows the totality of what's in it, which is reason enough, regardless of what any individual Congress-critter might think is in it to vote against it. We desperately need a single subject law for Congressional legislation so the monster bills that cover 1,000 different topics don't happen.

Because of the length of the bill, and the many, many different things that are in it, such a suggestion would literally take years. Probably the better part of a decade. But by all means, spend the DNCs money on such drivel, it would be so enjoyable to watch the left, especially the extreme "woke" left, have meltdowns on national TV. Sander's responsible should be filed under "Comedy".

He doesn't dare. Manchin could just respond by showing all the ridiculous items that are in the bill. You know...the items that Dems dare not openly admit to wanting as it would get them laughed at...at best. And he could point out what it is going to cost the tax payers by using the CBO report and explain how it would affect tax payers pockets on a personal level. Including thier grandchildren's pockets.

In Post #3, the writer said that the Dems won't tell what is in the bill. I provided a link to the bill so that he can read it for himself. I suppose most people who post on the forum can read more that a short paragraph. So, if you want to know what is in the bill, read it and then you will be able to make an informed opinion about it.

No one gives a damn about the deficit or the national debt. It could grow to a quintillion dollars and it wouldn't matter because if it got to that amount it means that people have enough spare money to buy the securities. The national debt hasn't been paid off since 1835.

Its not hard to google and learn what's in it. How can you call it marxist while admitting you know nothing about it?

So, they wrote it, and yet somehow they have no idea what's in it.....Does that really make sense to you? Did they write it in their sleep?

How can they want those things if they don't know anything about them. Remember that the bill came from somewhere and no one has read it and no one knows what's in it.

Its so much easier to argue that no one knows whats in it, not when the people who wrote it.

Manchin was not elected to look out for the DNC. His job is to look out for his state. We shall see in the next senate elections how they feel about his decision to not support the BBB bill. That's how it supposed to work.

Manchin's lack of support is not about day care. He'd probably support a day care bill if it there was a bill just for that.

Not stunning or surprising at all. I predicted a couple of weeks ago he wasn't going to vote for this tax & spend bill either this year or next.

Joe is one of the few sane moderate Dems left in his party, and he also saw how "progressives" got their butts kicked in neighboring Virginia and all across the country during the last elections. Instead of ignoring what voters said and doubling-down on the insanity like Pelosi, Schumer, The Squat, et al, did, he go the message and said no.

This is a huge win for America. Thanks, Joe.

PS. Bernie Sanders really screwed the pooch on this one. Trying to stab Manchin in the back may be what killed the Dems' multi-trillion dollar socialist boondoggle. What a dumbass.

    WRONG.

There are still a lot people in this country who want to reign in the monstrosity in Washington that is eroding our freedom and prosperity.

There must be a detailed list since they have been negotiating the contents of the bill with Manchin for several months now.

I much preferred the Republican multi-trillion-dollar socialist/Marxist/communist boondoggles in 2020.

I wouldn't advise Biden to do that and I despise him.

    W. VA is a red state. Lefties already hate Manchin. And a demented and corrupt Biden screaming at the sky about Manchin makes Biden seem even lamer.

    But you do you.

Now those stickers at the gas station? That's the type.of thing people remember.

    "I DID THAT!".

Yes IF it got to that amount. America is not infallible to the same monetary woes of many past empires who fell under the load of heavy debt. Money doesn't grow on trees and NO! we haven't figured out how to beat the system by setting up a Federal Reserve.

Manchin hasn't been negotiating anything with the WH, that is only what the news has been reporting. He has been invited to the WH to listen to the president's plea for support but Manchin has never said he would agree to BBB on certain conditions. He has flat out said "no way Jose" from the very beginning. Democrats are lying!

Psaki and the news media are liars. Manchin has never changed his mind about BBB. He has been opposed to it from the get go.

    It's true about Manchin.

I'm also prepared to the possibility that several other dems didn't want to pass this bill, knowing it would destroy the dems in the mid terms.

Yes, "they" wrote it. They being dozens of Senators, hundreds of underlings, including likely thousands of changes, add-ons and deletions from lobbyists, Nancy Pelosi and probably dozens of other House members, the President himself, dozens of HIS staff, and I'm sure I'm missing quite a few. 500-something Amendments, 2,600 pages... I stand by my statement. There's not a single person who can sit you down and tell you every little item, change (that happen daily, if not hourly), footnote, header, and references therein.

If they want to give away free daycare, which I think is f-ing stupid and it angers me that I would be forced to pay even a fraction of a penny contributing to other people's daycare bills, then write a short, 10-page bill to do so. Ditto for every single other new "free sh|t for dems" line item. Put 'em in their own bill, debate it, and have a vote. Tying them all together adds confusion, complexity, and it's done on purpose.

Remember the words of Queen Pelosi... "We've got to pass the bill so we can see what's in it..."

I'll advocate nuclear power when power plants don't have to be built by water to contaminate, and when a permanent and safe way of disposing of waste is found.

No one has given a damn for 186 years. The national debt is over $29 trillion. Do you really want to raise taxes high enough to pay it off in a couple of years?

Progressives are constantly pissed off at Manchin. That is nothing new. The 50 other Senators that oppose the BBB dealio, however, won't be swayed by Joe's pettiness either. If anything, your tactic would embolden Manchin and them to RESIST!!!

You will advocate for nuclear the second the billionaires tell you to and not a single second sooner. Every post you have ever made has been nothing more than the talking points of the power elite. I do not believe I have heard you stand up for a single thing that would help the middle class, not one.

I am different than you. I care about my class far more than the other classes. I want my class to flourish even it is at the expense of other classes. I cannot understand a mind that detests it own class and wants to destroy it. Why do you support transferring middle class wealth to the upper and lower classes? Why do you pretend to believe the lies of people who are plundering middle class wealth?
