Essential Vision Report on government decisions:

457 visas: 79% support - 19% oppose

MRRT: 63% support - 22% oppose

NBN: 69% support - 20% oppose

Carbon Price: 46% support - 44% oppose

Well I'll be, there has been much said regarding direct referendums, which was simply based on some obscure view that the government is totally disregarding constituents wishes.
It is obvious that those calling for a direct referendum style of governance would have been sadly disappointed and would be proposing another system of governance.....lol

Why is the government not gaining traction at present despite the upside of support on these major decisions?

Now to something very silly, but pertinent

I will address this one at a time

What does 79% support? The introduction of the 457 Visa? That is a coalition policy... Maybe Gillard's call to 'put Australian's first'?
Which if you did not notice ALP has not. They have actually increased the numbers of 457 visas... which go figure, seems silly with increasing unemployment. However, it is not as simple as that, is it?
So what part of the 457 Visas do they support?

Again what about the MRRT do they support? Maybe the concept? Maybe the actual policy? This is all the ALP's and the fact that it is poorly managed and implemented does not detract from the fact it is something they have done... be it good or bad.
Bugger it... what is it that they support? Fact is that these polls are usually predetermined by where and when they are taken. That includes the polls for the PM and so on. It is derived from a number of people in the community and averaged across the population. Polls generally do not reflect the actual results across the nation. That is why Gillard is right as many of the past, to pay little attention to them.

Governments of the past have disregarded their constituents wishes. Just because you have found some poll (which you have not referenced, so could be simply made up) that has some people who think these policies are good (again, assuming it is not made up) does not change the situation that Gillard disregarded the wishes of the population in introducing major policies. Gillard has done something that I am not sure any other PM has ever done. That is told a population one thing about a major policy before an election and then simply made that major change, to simply get into office. If that is not major disregard for the constituent’s wishes, I do not know what is.

<<<Mod Edit: Personal Attack Removed>>> It makes no difference to their case at all. Even these results mean nothing to changing the political system... everybody is sick of politician’s lies... they want to get some straight talkers and eradicate the corruption in the political scene... If at any time this was done, then the current system would be ok for them... But it is endemic and needs some change, that is one governance that some consider would make these things right. But anything really that stops the crap would be preferred.
Because these figures are not realistic figures. Many polls have been and gone and this is the only poll that is for the government, so that upside down support for these major decisions are not as clear as you seem to think.

Still months to go, Maybe Abbott may lose an unlosable election. I would suggest it would take some very big stuff ups, this far out. But it is possible.

I would suggest that these ALP drones are praying for this, but I do not think Gillard will survive no matter what happens. The ALP are far from a stable party so I consider it is a given It will be a coalition landslide.

Your finer points are a waste of time. Government decisions have the support of a majority of the population FULL STOP! A CIR would be a complete waste of time in light of these facts.

Polls are generally spot on. Don't give us some sour grapes excuse for why they are wrong.

So Howards introduction of the 457 visa system is supported by the population so, that should be good for the ALP?

Again, this actually means nothing to the CIR debate, as these only attempt to support a small proportion against the CIR debate.

LOL... The finer details are important, especially if you want to debate them... LOL
LOL... they are spot on? <<<Mod Edit: Personal Attack Removed>>> Again it all depends on the questions, the predisposition and the amount of people polled.

The fact you still have not referenced the poll, I would assume that you actually made the figures up... Would I be correct?... LOL

There is nothing to debate? Then why create the thread? Just Trolling?... LOL.

Perhaps if you had not just made it up, then you might be able to support your claims, but no you’re wrong... The very first point is why should Gillard get support for a policy that is not ALP's?... LOL
LOL... Nobody should have to ask for it, it is a rule of the forum to reference material or it is simply, your opinion. So far, as nobody is concerned, they consider it is made up.

Perhaps your Poll should be put into context. What was that allusive question that the poll is created from?
http://essentialvision.com.au/support-for-major-government-decisions There is your reference clown...

But let us look closer, from the report
The very first line is
http://essentialvision.com.au/documents/essential_report_130318.pdf Again there is your reference.

Do not bother looking at the methodology... LOL

Again, 1001 people are the answer to your major poll... A poll that does not mention support for 457 visas... what is the question?

http://essentialvision.com.au/documents/essential_report_130318.pdf Again demonstrating your lies.

Here is a hint, read your sh!t before you post your lies... LOL
'Government decisions have the support of a majority of the population FULL STOP' (or a majority of 1001 people)

Yes again less than 0.01% of the population is good a damming indictment of how the population thinks... LOL, Oh I forgot the FULL STOP.... LOL

Whether you want to put lame twists on the information provided that is totally up to you. The main crux of the issue is the question of why the government isn't doing too well in election opinion polls. It is quite obvious that the issue lies in how people perceive Gillard. You can carry on all day, every night, in your sleep giving an analysis of why the poll is not as accurate as you would like. In any instance some of these figures are quite substantial.

Why? LOL perhaps that less than 0.01% of the population where asked might have something to do with it... with those numbers they could have walked into a union meeting of union representatives and asked the same question... LOL

Considering most polls suggest that more of the population do not agree with the ALP with a much more broader amount of people questioned... and much more direct questions... I would suggest your hanging your hat on the wrong polls... LOL

Those twists are that you fabricated the poll results. There were only three areas of policy asked for agreement. You made up the remainder in the OP. So that would be a lie of yours... LOL much like your favourite PM.

As for accurate... it seems to be not even close... LOL when you make up figures, of course they are substantial...LOLOLOLOL

Given the FACT that there has been such a bad reaction to the ALP in the polls I too call your numbers as BS,
They are sitting at around 30% 2pp so yeah, come election they are gone.

Not my numbers. Look, the reality is that it is not looking good in terms of election polls for the government and the reason why this one is interesting. It suggest that there is life in them yet if there isn't a large margin of error. Tony abbott will need to be on his best behaviour.

For a credible poll... Definitely more than 1001 or to generalise as you have more than 0.00436% (and that is giving you 2.8 people more) Perhaps if you consider that 1 person is speaking for `near 23,000 people each... LOL

I would also like you to clarify exactly what results the poll has... or do you intend on trying to keep the lies coming... LOL

You’re the one on who persists on attempting to make this poll credible, not me... You’re the one who refutes that the poll is simply your misguided attempt to support your belief that Gillard is doing a great job... with a poll that is

A) of such a small sample it may as well be a questionnaire at a Union meeting, of union delegates

B) full of fabrications and lies...( and this last is not my opinion but fact)

You did not want to debate the merits of what you proclaimed, which was obvious from your first attack. So perhaps you should think of something to move on too... LOL

Right, and this is the whole point! Is the NBN, carbon price, 457 visas, MRRT on the nose or is it simply that people believe she is a liar?

For what poll? LOL perhaps you could be a little more precise... LOL

Again, you are trying subterfuge to hide your lies and fabrications

It hardly matters the number in any poll. As I stated before.

"What is it that they support? Fact is that these polls are usually predetermined by where and when they are taken. That includes the polls for the PM and so on. It is derived from a number of people in the community and averaged across the population. Polls generally do not reflect the actual results across the nation. The fact that you had to fabricate half the results, also demonstrate that this poll result you proclaim is meaningless and demonstrates nothing.

No, give credit to people. They are not as shallow as you would like to make them out.

They do see the mismanagement and of the NBN and MRRT, The lie with the Carbon tax only adds to that. The fact that 58% of people want a reduction in 457 Visas is also against the Gillard government due to the fact they increased the inflow of 457 visa acceptance..

Just because you’re as simple as that, does not represent a majority of Australians. They feel they have to trust their representatives and Gillard has in no way fulfilled the expectation of trust.

Live with it. Talk about 'keepin it real'... LOL

Oh so you do not want to move on... LOL

Talk about fabrications.

First of all the question asked was
The possible answers where
No '457 visas' and to simply demonstrate you made that one up
.http://essentialvision.com.au/documents/essential_report_130318.pdf
So according to your logic only 46% of labor don't agree with the policies... LOL

Simple to say, a majority of polls taken are opposite to this particular poll, Tendency is to lean toward the greater number of polls rather than one that states what you want.

Fact is that like all governments before (and no doubt after) Gillard will ignore it and so she should, when you think 0.0436% of the populations is talking for you... You really are nuts.

LOL…you really do not know what a Troll Is do you… Just because you do not like an answer to your questions does not make that person a troll. Perhaps you should get better acquainted with terms before you attempt to use them… LOL

TV, the poll is your statement, it`s up to you to prove it correct, not up to other people to waste their time over your fantasies. The present "govt" is the most arrogant, vile mannered, billious, shower that we`ve ever to handicap his nation. Your beloved PM is incapable of answering the simplest question without vomiting her missandristic bile, succumbing to childish tantrums, or bragging like the biggest loony in the assylum. More people can see through her BS, while Abbott has continually proven to be above her gutter tactics.

TV, the ALP is shot duck, until it cuts the puppet strings and breaks away from it`s union masters.
