It is a challenge I face every day. People here laud the American way. But all I see is dysfunction and despair. And American politicians selling favours in the House. Tell me how I can learn from the greatness that Americans think they represent.
New Zealanders can quit drinking, it addles their brains. What other country in the world has a news category for alcohol abuse. Maybe if they sober up a bit, their world view would change. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/alcohol-abuse/news/headlines.cfm?c_id=115
I am a teetotaller. Please try again. As for my compatriots, they are far more educated than Americans. Perhaps you should drink more.
You may be right. If you can live in America and not drink in part due to the sheer stupidity of our government and the average voters who keep the same fools in power, well there's something wrong with you. No one can be sober in the US and actually think we're on the right track, well unless you're completely insane.
And I jumped over the moon too. The world knows that New Zealanders are drunken fools. They drink to wash away their sorry existence, that's no secret.
That'll get you on the right track. Drugs and alcohol may not make America reasonable but atleast it helps you to stop caring about stuff you can't change, and probably helps you not care about the rape machines at the airport.
C'mon, I need to have resounding truth. Perhaps it is what is written in your Constitution? The thing that underpins your way of life, Hollywood, and the CIA?
How did I know that is the best idea you could come up with? Try harder. I am genuinely interested.
A dog that looks like it'll spontaneously urinate if it's startled by a loud noise isn't great. Hilarious yes, but certainly not great.
Nope. Constitution is ignored and liberty is hated, well unless people are trying to make what you do illegal then it's all about liberty (not a shot at that poster). America exists on hypocrisy, picking a horse be it democrat or republican, and hating the other horse. All other horses are to be considered crazy and their wants unnecessary. In the end the American dream, as of current, is either a collectivist paradise or a neo-fascist bastion of all that is right, depends on your horse. If you don't pick a horse, the best thing to do is drink, work, and hope you have enough money/bsing skills to not goto jail should your 'liberty' be brought into question.
It's funny, with all the "we love liberty and freedom!" people spew around here you'd think (*)(*)(*)(*) like that couldn't happen, but it's here. I mean really, electronic strip searches here in the US, 10 years ago who the hell would have thought that was reasonable.
Burglars are often more scared of little dogs than big ones because they know that while the big ones can bark loudly it is the little ones that bite - and often in inconvenient places ,
Only because I haven't gone through the scanners. Guess it takes a big dick to believe in liberty, and apparently I'm surrounded by a bunch of twigs that would go right into dirt holes if gay marriage were legal. Atleast that's how the anti-gay arguments sound, something like "well if we let the gay get married then everyones' gunna be gay!" Not that I'm gay myself, but gays are the easiest group to bring up when you want to talk about how Americans like to treat some of their fellow countrymen as less then themselves for no real reason. At least we're not discriminating by color anymore even though outside of government that demon seems to be alive and well. Again, if you believe in liberty and you're an American, it's best to just drink. If you can keep yourself in a drunken stupor then it's not so bothersome when you liberty removed at a continuous rate. Once they take the booze away though, well that's what the black market is for. Really though to answer your question, how to be "Pro-American", you just need to pick a horse and ride it to the end. You adapt your views to party lines and you're good to go. It's like being in a gang, only it's a political gang and the government does all the violence for you so it's ok.
- Stop watching the news in the so called "free world" because all these fox, cnn and other networks are fully controled by the same circus which create wars - they do not represent American people. - Do not troll by pointing a finger at either left or right, it is a circus to divide the nation and give idiots a false target to bite on. - Do not blame Bush or Obama for anything, it only distracts from real culprits who pull their strings - when blaming America point a finger at those who placed them on a ballot, not the people who were given a choice to vote for idiot A or idiot B. (see videos in my sig for a full explanation) - Iraqi people were not guilty for voting for Hussein, they simply had no other choice.
The moment America decided to make the Supreme Court part of its triumvirate is the moment America defined itself. The power to enact, change or abolish grounded laws and perceptions based on a panel of high minded judges is the moment America laid its roots. Few will disagree that the way to go is with the flow- to stay on the cusp of what's new and to discard the old. I point out the Dutch as an example- no land, no resources, just open freedom and enterprise. The Dutch owned world trade for a few hundred years- until the container ship was invented. America's claim to fame- apart from being to first to democratize, is the capacity for its bloated government to serve the purpose of liberty for all. You can be born (*)(*)(*)(*) poor or filthy rich, the same opportunity lies before you if you grasp it. Just as we are willing to let 99 killers go free just to let that one innocent man also go free, our government is redundantly based on serving its people- to promote liberty and end closed-mindedness and ignorance. The last thing America wants today is to have people live under the tyranny of America. This inherent hands off policy allows a great deal of opinion but ultimately allows them all to co-exist. To be American is to be part of the dream- to live free for the pursuit of happiness. No other nation allows this as much as America- we spend billions on the sick, uneducated, poor and ignorant to ensure the debate continues over who is right and wrong (i.e. this forum). If I were immortal and 3,000 years old I would undoubtedly be a worldly man, with experience from all over the world. But I'd also be a 300 year American- - the world is not ending and that sinking feeling in the back of your mind is your mind playing tricks on you. America's still the place to be- where else can you pick up, move on and redefine yourself within the confines of one nation?
