Can an already dead person be killed? We're discussing a legal standard here. Catch up.

Will you agree the woman doesn't have to prove rape in a court of law to get the abortion?

Did anyone stipulate that? No? So why make it an issue that you'll in the future deflect with?

I asked you a question don't worry about caveats just answer yes or no and we can go from there.

It's okay I already know the answer is no so it's dishonest of people to bring up rape in the first place because it doesn't matter.

no it is a physiological condition that happens in living organisms.
no. When you're ending life that is what killing me look it up in the dictionary if you don't me.

I killed a cockroach last night or should I say I aborted it.

Focusing on the heart reminds me of ancient Egyptian religious belief. The brain was discarded prior to mummification, but the heart was key to getting into "heaven."

    The weighing of the heart:

I'm convinced Judaism and Christianity evolved from Egyptian mythology anyway, so I guess it seems fitting.

No, that poster was discussing debate tactics. There wasn't any legal standing mentioned.......but since you brought it up.....abortion is legal. It's been found legal for decades with many claims against that standard being dismissed.
Next time you want to be condescending, at least know what you're talking about.

Plants are living organisms that lack a heartbeat. Bacteria are living organisms that we get rid of all the time. Do you fill guilty about killing plants and bacteria?

I never said anything about feelings.

Terminating life is killing it doesn't matter what it is if this word offends you take it up with the English language not me I'm not the arbiter of words.

It is just as dishonest to say an abortion is killing a human being so that point doesn't matter either.

Neither did I so why bring that up?
Says the one making an issue of emotional arguments. You say you're not the arbiter of words yet you use the words to make your point that isn't the legal standard so, yes, it appears you ARE the arbiter of words.

Are you comparing either to humans?

That kind of logic belongs on an episode of Dexter...

In the same way the other poster compared humans as organisms, yes

If that is all you said it would make sense.. but you added

Bacteria are living organisms that we get rid of all the time. Do you fill guilty about killing plants and bacteria?

So your true intentions and feelings are readily seen. The Dexter comment stands

So the only way to interpret language is legally?

It's comparable in determining when life begins, and showing animals (jellyfish, others) that survive without hearts strikes the argument down that "life begins at a heartbeat." It's arbitrary, but Texas now admits that life doesn't begin at conception, so I guess it's a start.

You'd have a point if we were talking about aborting jellyfish.
