They were heretics and illegal entities for sure. A theocracy is a religious government which does what every government does. If they did not, they would stop reigning long before 1000 years had past. The same things are true in Islam, today. Westerners condemn the treatment of women under Islamic Law, but that IS the Law.

I just read some of the responses here. Sounds like a bunch of atheists trying to make sense of a religious book filled with symbolism, metaphors and allegories. No one can completely understand the book of Revelation. The last person I'd expect to understand it would be an atheist. Some of the responses I'm hearing are just outright hilarious. I haven't come across many insightful responses. That kinda makes me sad.
