~ I believe China was screwing around with a virus as bio-weapon and goofed - then tried to cover it up but got caught. They purchased all the "real" personal protection items as they knew the virus would soon spread. They SOLD defective PP items ( made in China ) to other countries to appear a hero - then got caught again. The recent events have played out in public as China panics - blames the U.S. , Europe , stray cats roaming the streets , tourists visiting , etc. Now we likely will see a U.S. "investigation" that shows an accident ( on purpose ) as the cover-up continues. A vaccine will come about, the virus will fizzle out, Trump will secure a trillion or two as restitution and all is well again. ➡ Here is BBC interview with China Ambassador to London. I think the Chinese were studying the Virus in animals when one of those animals escaped. Then that animal spread it. Nothing weaponized or anything, just poor controls on research.

Preliminary reports out of the UK (its surely 'fake news') indicate we (US NIH) funded China with around $3-5M to develope an animal corona virus into what we're calling COVID-19 roundabouts 2012-2013. So I chose 'other'.
If it turns out to be true, they should. Would go a long way to building a case against those responsible and preventing it from happening again.
In an effort to avoid getting into an actual WAR with China, "U. S. Intelligence" has denied even the possibility that COVID19 was a Chinese lab-engineered bio-weapon, even though the evidence strongly suggests that it is. You have to look at the situation through the lens that "U. S. Intelligence" probably sees the situation: 1. Nearly everything the Americans CONSUME is made in CHINA, including pharmaceutical medicines! 2. The U. S. economy is an over-leveraged wreck, the supply-lines are shattered, unemployment is soaring, and the whole country is in a state of political civil-war -- featuring 'wanna-be neo-socialists' versus heavily-indebted, overvalued, capitalist stock market gamblers. 3. The U. S. has devolved into being a country that could not even successfully conclude small wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after more than FIFTEEN YEARS... so, how would we fare against one of the great economic and military powers in the world -- CHINA! So, we'll continue to 'kick the can' (path of least resistance), try to improve the accuracy of testing for the virus, try to come up with a cure, try to relax restrictions on business to avoid a complete economic meltdown, try to find a 'vaccine' (even though decades of trying to develop flu-vaccines have been much less than useful), and, try to avoid a war we cannot win against CHINA. OK, that's settled. Now, shall we all just resume bitching about 'global warming' and other fun pre-virus controversies...?
Looking around, there are evidently provocateurs on many sides looking to undermine the position and welfare of both the U.S. and China. Who profits?
~ Of course . What else should we expect ..? However I do believe there is a high likelihood the Chinese economy will collapse over this fiasco . Then we can blame Trump all over again .
On a different thread one of our leftist posters is trying to make a case for Trump making Cuomo and De Blassio produce a 10% death rate for the kung-flu by NOT interfering with their incompetence. Or in other words, it's Trump's fault that their incompetence is killing people.
