Of course it's recycled back to where it came from. What are you talking about? Do you pay a water bill every month? That money goes to the purification plant. Of course it has to be purified. Did you not see the picture I posted? Did I not say it gets purified and recycled? Do you know what recycled means? The OP mentions that most use will be in urban areas, not some hard scrabble outback.
Those urban areas have water purification plants.

Personally, I do not pay a water bill. I live in a rural area and have a well. But I realize that doesn't change the point you were trying to make.

My comments weren't just about the U.S. or developed country's with widespread water purification. In many parts of the world, even urban areas don't have this or have it at the capacity necessary to treat the actual water needs of the city, not just the residents with money. As always, the poor will be the ones who suffer at the hands of the water bosses once access to it is even worse than it is today.

Also, water purification plants can only process a fixed amount of water at a time. Excess that cannot be stored is drained or dispersed in other ways. If purification facilities were more widespread, I'd probably agree with your assessment, but the sad truth is that many places are lacking suitable facilities, or facilities at all.

No, it's not what I consider a debate nor did I mean it to be.....but please don't rise above the level of your "friend", you belong together with your off topic posts and silliness.

In that case they will be built as demand requires. Just like always.

The Liberian civil war A) was not Islamic and B) ended 13 years ago.

And Morocco is using standard energy intensive methods at great expense for desalinization.

Why aren't they using this "simple" solar method you are claiming is so easy?

That's hardly the way the world works. They will be built if and when the opportunity to profit is present. OR, if the government of the region is able to fund it. But unfortunately in many parts of the world, the latter tends to cede to the former. That's one reason why governments that actually represent their people are important.

Let's get back to the OP. "“As 70% of the globe’s population will live in urban areas". Kings and pharos need water too. It's much more reasonable to believe those plants will be built than to assume they won't be.
To quote Sam Kinison "We have deserts too we just don't live in them".

Behaviors in the environment dictate when and how populations are a problem.

If we do not control our government and industry, as well as ourselves, we will be joining the Chinese.

Why should anyone believe this 'prediction' any more than the dozens of other failed climate cult predictions? According the to the cultists the American coasts are supposed to be 20 feet under water, oil is supposed to have run, we were supposed to be in an ice age, blah, blah, blah...

China is a developing country which has prioritized economic growth ahead of pollution control. As their standard of living improves they will clean up the environment because the people will not tolerate the pollution. This may be at a slower rate than in a democratic system but it will be done. The ultimate rate of change is controlled by the Chinese communist party.

Agreed, economics might not allow the clean up however. In that case an industrial reduction of pollution and time will clean it by default. And industry will institute protections to air and water too.
