There already is a friendly relationship between the US and Russia in the ISS operation. Since our Shuttle is no longer operational, we rely upon the Russians for assistance in certain space endeavors.

Few people talk about it, but the countries already cooperate in some ways. It should be expanded IMO.

 

Haha that's not a friendship. That's a business opportunity for Russia and cooperation. I'm talking about a general united friendship. Not a frickin business deal in space. I'm talking about allied friendship. That is non existent at this point.

 

Making an alliance with China makes zero sense, they are a direct competitor.

 

and Russia is not? in term military stability in Europe. beside China/US share a economy ties, which make both less likely goto conflict.

 

Russia is not a competitor, not by a mile...stability in Eastern Europe is Russia's domain always was, we should but out of their business and they will butt out of ours.

 

Russia want to expand its influence in eastern eureope, china want to expand its influence in SCS. raising power will do that doesn't matter its china, india, or Russia. yes if we butt out of their business both will butt out of ours, but east euro and ScS is in our interest.
